Yes, MT Lapu Lapu - 2008 is one of two (the other two ships are MT Jose P Rizal - 2003 & MT Emilio Jacinto - 2007) commercial tankers donated by the Philippine National Oil Co. PNOC to the Philippine Navy PN last year 2014. Induction of these tankers will greatly enhance PN’s Replenishment at Sea Capability, but I do think the PN will not install facilities or equipment for Parallel RAS System since it will be more costly due to major structural modifications and other related equipment acquisition. I do believe that the PN will just install the Astern RAS System which is more economical and does have the same outcome from the later system mentioned.
