Indonesian state-owned shipbuilder PT PAL has begun sea trials of the country's first SIGMA 10514 Perusak Kawal Rudal (PKR) guided-missile frigate on order for the Indonesian Navy (Tentara Nasional Indonesia - Angkatan Laut, or TNI-AL).
The vessel, which will be the future KRI Raden Eddy Martadinata (331), began its sea trials in the week starting 11 July in waters off Ujung, Surabaya. The trials included a speed test, a crash stop test, and turning manoeuvres, the company told IHS Jane's on 18 July.
Raden Eddy Martadinata was launched by PT PAL on 18 January at the company's shipyard in Surabaya. The frigate is one of two platforms being constructed jointly by Dutch shipbuilder Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding (DSNS) and PT PAL under a contract signed with the Indonesian Ministry of Defence in June 2012.
According to specifications provided by PT PAL, the PKR frigate has a standard displacement of approximately 2,400 tonnes, can accommodate a crew of 120, and it can hold a 10-tonne helicopter on its flight deck. The platform has a top speed of 28 kt, a maximum range of 5,000 n miles at 14 kt, and a standard range of 4,000 n miles at 18 kt.
Raden Eddy Martadinata 's weapons include an Oto Melara 76 mm main gun, launchers for MBDA MM40 Exocet Block II anti-ship missiles, six (two triple) Eurotorp B515 torpedo launchers, the Rheinmetall Defence Millennium 35 mm close-in weapon system, and a 12-cell vertical launch system that can deploy the MBDA VL-MICA surface-to-air missiles.
The weapon systems will be completed with a modified version of Thales' TACTICOS combat management system.
The platform is on track for delivery to the TNI-AL in January 2017, said PT PAL

BalasHapusBro the formidable class of singapore is much better.But its a huge step for indonesian shipping industry. The malaysian sgpv and thailand future frigate have better spec that pkr sigma 10514 aside the fact they both lack ciws. Though the bofors 57mm on the sgpv can also act as ciws.
HapusButtttttt the Sigma has better stealthier design than Forminable, SPGV, Thailand FF or any other ship in ASEAN. Plus the Exocet is much better than Harpoon and the unproven NSM. Ciws is much better at countering missile or ship than 57mm cause it has better electronic and radar system for countering such threat.

Exocet block 2 is better than the longer range harpoon and land attack capable nsm. 12 vl mica is better than 16 vl mica of the sgpv and 16 aster 15/30 of the formidable. I can surely see your logic there. Furthermore,there are no prove that the sigma is stealthier than gowind or la fayette. I agree with your ciws point but other than that is totally baseless claim.
HapusAnti Ship Missile dont need longer range or has Land Attack capability cause radar cant detect missile that is over 5k meters and jet can attack land target much more accurate. Anti Ship missile should be more accurate and more resilient toward counter measure, which is what Exocet is good at. Sigma dont need to carry lots of SAM cause its already equip with CIWS. Unlike Formidable and SPGV which need SAM to destroy incoming missile. Carrying lots of missile just increase the maintenance cost. Futhermore, Formidable is a decade old ship and SPGV main gun is weak and can only destroy small ship and fishing trawler. Plus, Sigma is much more sleek, beautiful and modern design than Formidable and Sgpv.

Lagipula soal kejelasan Exocet block berapa yang kita bel ini agak membingungkan.Di laporan SIPRI hanya tertulis kita membeli 30 Exocet tanpa menyebut block berapa http://defense-studies.blogspot.co.id/2016/02/sipri-impor-alutsista-indonesia-2015.html?m=1 tapi sumber daftar pustaka wiki menyebutkan kita memesan block 3, kini sumber dari PAL berbeda lagi
BalasHapusInstrumental range Smart S mk II mencapai 250km, sedang jangkauan Exocet block II cuma 72km. Surveilance radar seperti Terma Scanter 2100 atau Thales MW-08 saja cukup, ya semoga alasannya karena ada VL-Mica yang butuh untuk air defence role dan (semoga) block III lekas terinstal di PKR
BalasHapusPemilihan smart-s, bukan semata jarak jangkauan, tapu faktor lain seperti jaming resistance, kemampuan track and lock target, dll juga faktor yg di pertimbangkan. Tentunya akan lebih baik lg kalo kapal kelas di atasnya mengadopsi sistem radar dg frekuensi L-band yg sangat berguna utk mendeteksi objek2 stealth/low rcs
HapusYa saya setuju, namun dengan kapal berbobot 2365 ton, saya rasa radar dengan frekuensi L-band agaknya terlalu oversize jika melihat contoh instalasi radar L band seperti Thales Smart-L.
