Vietnamese Navy Launching "Yiet Kieu" Submarine Rescue Ship

With the launch of the Yet Kieu submarine rescue ship, the Vietnamese Navy will be able to autonomously perform submarine rescue missions without the need for foreign intervention or vehicles.

The 927 submarine rescue boat named Yet Kieu was built at Z189 Shipyard was launched on December 4.

After a period of sea trials, if it meets the requirements and is allowed to enter Vietnam, this will be the first submarine rescue ship in the Vietnamese Navy.

Not only serving submarine rescue and salvage activities, Yet Kieu ship is also capable of performing well rescue, salvage and searching for missing people at sea.

In addition, the ship also has enough tools and performs the work of surveying, exploring and studying the seabed; salvage furniture and shipwreck from the seabed.

Basically, Yet Kieu submarine rescue ship is built according to MSSARS class 9316 designed by Ha Lan, stretching water 3950 tons, 93.2 meters long, 16 meters wide and can operate 30 days and nights continuously at sea.

In particular, the ship is capable of withstanding waves of level 9, wind level 12 and on the deck is also equipped with a helicopter deck - allowing to expand the search range when performing rescue and rescue work.

In the past, we had launched similar ships and handed them over to the Royal Australian Navy.

Submarine rescue vessels previously built by Vietnam for Australia were named Besant and Stoker - the names of the first two submarine commanders in the Royal Australian Navy.

The successful construction of large-sized submarine rescue vessels for domestic salvage and export abroad shows the capabilities and qualifications of Vietnam's Defense Industry, especially in the field of ship building.
