The Royal Thai Navy (RTN) and Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN/TLDM: Tentera Laut DiRaja Malaysia) completed the bilateral maritime exercise THALAY LAUT 24/2023 between 2-8 July 2023 ago.
Joint defense strengthening between the Royal Thai Navy and Royal Malaysian Navy through the joint exercise THALAY LAUT has continued for the 24th time. Then from the first training that started in the year 1981 by organizing a two-year training continuously.
The latest joint exercise THALAY LAUT 2023 is hosted by the Royal Malaysian Navy. By conducting exercises at the Kuantan Naval Base, Malaysia and in the South China Sea. The Royal Thai Navy has sent the Pattani Offshore Patrol Ship HTMS Pattani to arrive at Kuantan Naval Base on July 2, 2023.
The opening ceremony was held in conjunction with the Port Phase training at Naval Area 1 Headquarters, Kuantan Naval Base, Royal Malaysian Navy on July 2, 2023 by personnel from both countries. Do a compulsory exercise together in planning and problem solving.
Sea Phase Training was held from 5-6 July 2023. The Malaysian Navy organized a Gagah Samudera-class training ship, training ship KD Gagah Samudera (271), and a Handalan-class attack ship, a KD Perkasa (3512) fast attack ship participated in training with HTMS Pattani, Royal Thai Navy.
Field Training Exercise (FTX) in the South China Sea of Malaysia includes Fast Boat Intercept Attack Craft (FIAC), Strategic Operations Training (MANEX: Maneuvering Exercise), Screen Exercise Training (SCREENEX: Screen Exercise), Maritime logistics exercise (RASAP: Replenishment at Sea Approach), ship search exercise (BOARDEX: Boarding Exercise) by ship search and seizure (VBSS: Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure), and Practicing photography training (PHOTOEX: Photo Exercise).
The Malaysian Navy has brought AS 555SN Fennec surface surveillance helicopters to participate in training with the Thai offshore patrol vessel HTMS Pattani, the KD Gagah Samudera training ship and the Malaysian fast attack boat KD Perkasa and the collaboration of the two nations' navies.
The closing ceremony took place on July 7, 2023. The visit to Kuantan Naval Base, Malaysia also included cultural exchanges between Thailand and Malaysia through the catering of Thai food on HTMS Pattani, the Malaysian art show and a friendly football match between the two nations
Offshore Patrol Vessel HTMS Pattani The Royal Thai Navy departed from Kuantan Naval Base, Malaysia on 8 July 2023 to return to Thailand. It is the completion of a bilateral exercise to maintain maritime security cooperation in the region together between the Thai and Malaysian navies.

the supplementary budget was necessary as the allocation for 2022 was lower some RM401 million. The supplementary funds will pay for utility bills – electricity, internet, and sewage – (RM115 million); Maritime Security Operations (RM139 million) and Air Defence Operations (RM49 million).

BalasHapusKami percaya pihak kerajaan akan memastikan bahawa hutang tertunggak oleh pihak Boustead Naval Shipyard kepada semua vendor akan dijelaskan pada kadar segera sebelum projek diteruskan.
"Penyelesaian hutang tertunggak ini adalah amat penting agarn pihak vendor dapat meneruskan kerja bagi menyiapkan kesemua kapal LCS. Kapal LCS pertama (MAHARAJALELA) dijangka akan diserahkan kepada pihak Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia (TLDM) pada tahun 2025," katanya lagi.
Selain itu katanya, MASTRA juga menyarankan agar prinsip dan amalan ketelusan serta tadbir urus yang jelas dan sahih dapat dilaksanakan dan dipantau dengan baik selepas ini.
Katanya, ini susulan pengumuman yang dibuat oleh Menteri Pertahanan Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein semalam yang menyatakan bahawa projek LCS akan diteruskan.
BACA: Kerajaan buat keputusan terus projek perolehan LCS - Hishammuddin.
Sementara itu menurut Presiden Protankgroup Ir. Esham Salam yang juga merupakan salah satu vendor, kesan kegagalan pembayaran oleh BNS adalah amat besar kepada mereka sehingga tidak memungkinkan mereka meneruskan projek tersebut jika pembayaran tertunggak tidak dibuat dalam masa terdekat.
“Jumlah hutang kepada vendor dan bank di Malaysia pada masa ini adalah lebih kurang RM1 bilion. Daripada jumlah tersebut, jumlah hutang kepada vendor tempatan adalah lebih kurang RM700 juta. Bilangan vendor yang terlibat adalah lebih 140 syarikat," ujarnya.
Malah katanya, syarikat-syarikat yang terlibat dalam projek LCS adalah merupakan syarikat yang terbukti memiliki keupayaan dan kualiti yang cemerlang dan telah terlibat dalam industri maritim sejak 90an.
Tegasnya lagi, penglibatan mereka dalam projek Pesisir Luar Pantai (OPV) membolehkan Malaysia hari ini berkeupayaan membina dan menyelenggara kapal selain menghasilkan ekosistem yang mampan.
