DTI Trains the Royal Thai Army in Using the D11A Multi-Barreled Rocket Launcher Prototype

Defense Technology Institute, Thailand has conducted On the Job Training for the prototype of the D11A multi-purpose multiple-launch rocket launch vehicle under the Multi-Launched Rocket Research and Development Project to the personnel of the 711th Artillery Battalion, 71st Artillery Regimen, Artillery Division, Royal Thai Army between 18-21 September 2023 at the location of the 711th Artillery Battalion, 711th Battalion, Gen. P. Sirikit Camp. Lopburi Province. This is the latest development after performance and tactical testing of a prototype D11A multi-barreled multiple launch vehicle in September 2022.

The D11A multi-barreled rocket launcher prototype is based on the PULS (Precise and Universal Launching System) self-propelled multiple-barreled rocket launcher system developed in partnership with  DTI Thailand and Elbit Systems Company of Israel.

The Czech Republic Tatra truck is used as the D11A's chassis as well as the M758 ATMG 155 mm/52 caliber wheeled self-propelled howitzer that is in service with the Royal Thai Army and the Royal Thai Marine Corps and the Royal Thai Navy.

The prototype system was introduced to the public for the first time at the Defense & Security 2022 defense equipment exhibition between 29 August - 1 September 2022.

711th Artillery Battalion 71st Artillery Regiment artillery brigade It is a unit that uses multiple-barreled rockets of the Royal Thai Army, which is deployed with 122mm SR4 self-propelled multiple-barreled rockets, DTI-1 self-propelled multiple-barreled rockets and 302mm DTI-1G self-propelled multiple-barreled rockets, and the DTI-2 multiple-barreled rocket launcher, size 122mm, 20 launch tubes, on a Type 31 self-propelled multi-barreled rocket, on a conveyor belt, Type 85, all of which are projects developed by DTI Thailand, except for the SR4 that comes from China.

Training of personnel of the Royal Thai Army's 71st Battalion, 711th Infantry Regiment, will take place before the delivery of the D11A multi-purpose multiple-launch rocket launcher prototype for trial use and lead to an evaluation for opening the production line into service.

It is understood that the D11A multi-barreled rocket launch vehicle will begin production in Thailand in 2023 after passing system certification tests and should be procured to serve both the needs of the Royal Thai Army and the Royal Thai Navy which have a common basic system.

When deployed to the D11A multi-barreled launch vehicle, the modular launcher will be able to fire a variety of guided and unguided rockets of different calibers in two launchers. It is expected that in addition to the 122mm DTI-2 rocket developed in Thailand. It also includes Accular guided missiles, size 122mm, effective firing range 40km, 18-round firing set, EXTRA guided missiles, size 306mm, effective firing range 150km, effective firing range 4 rounds, and Predator Hawk guided missiles, size 370mm, effective firing range 300km, 2-round firing set as well.
