Tentera Darat Malaysia (TDM) akan mengusulkan pembatalan kontrak sewaan helikopter Black Hawk TDM kepada Kementerian Pertahanan (Mindef) ekoran kelewatan penghantaran pertama helikopter berkenaan.
Panglima Tentera Darat Jen Tan Sri Muhammad Hafizuddeain Jantan berkata TDM amat memerlukan keupayaan aset itu bagi melancarkan tugas operasi serta latihan anggota namun pihak kontraktor masih gagal memenuhi janji yang telah dimeterai.
“TDM amat memerlukan keupayaan Black Hawk dan kontrak perolehan atau sewaan aset ini akan banyak membantu kita dalam tugas operasi dan latihan namun sehingga kini mereka masih gagal (penghantaran aset).
“Sekiranya pada Mei ini mereka masih gagal memenuhi obligasi ini maka TDM mengambil tindakan tegas iaitu mengusulkan kepada kementerian supaya kontrak sewaan Black Hawk ini dibatalkan, jadi kita boleh ambil langkah seterusnya ia keperluan mendesak dan kami tegas dengan keputusan kami,” katanya kepada pemberita.
Beliau berkata demikian selepas menghadiri Acara Perbarisan Tamat Latihan Perajurit Muda Lelaki Siri 199/2023 melibatkan 1,498 anggota di Pusat Latihan Asas Tentera Darat (Pusasda) di Port Dickson hari ini.
