BAE Systems Bofors memperkenalkan sistem pertahanan udara Tridon Mk2 pada pameran pertahanan Eurosatory 2024 yang diadakan di Paris dari 17 hingga 21 Juni.
Memberi pengarahan kepada jurnalis secara online pada 11 Juni, direktur pemasaran dan penjualan BAE Systems Bofors Stefan Löfström mengatakan sistem ini didasarkan pada meriam angkatan laut Bofors 40 mm Mk 4, dengan modularitas yang memungkinkannya dipasang dan diintegrasikan ke dalam berbagai platform bergerak atau stasioner.
Dia mengutip jangkauan efektif hingga 12 km untuk Tridon Mk2, dengan laju tembakan 300 rds/mnt dari peluru pintar 3P (Pre-fragmented, Programmable, Proximity-fuzed), yang memungkinkan sistem untuk menyerang target tanpa mengganti amunisi. Kisaran ini tergantung pada target, amunisi yang dipilih, rangkaian sensor, dan medan sekitarnya, menurut siaran pers BAE Systems tanggal 13 Juni. Löfström mengatakan senjata ini dapat digunakan untuk melawan berbagai sasaran, termasuk rudal, pesawat jet, dan kendaraan udara tak berawak (UAV).

Platform bergerak yang mungkin digunakan untuk memasang Tridon Mk2 mencakup truk 6×6 dan 8×8 serta kendaraan segala medan BvS10, meskipun kendaraan segala medan BvS10 memerlukan outriggers/cadik dan kemungkinan penguatan strukturnya untuk mengatasi getaran. Di Eurosatory 2024, ditampilkan dipasang di truk Scania G460 8x8 dengan spesifikasi militer. Sistem ini dapat dioperasikan dari kabin kendaraan yang dipasanginya, sehingga memungkinkannya untuk menembak dan berlari sambil menemani unit infanteri mekanis yang terpasang di dalamnya, menurut Löfström. Dalam mode stasioner, dapat dioperasikan dari jarak jauh.

Defence Minister DS Khaled Nordin was present at the LOA handing over ceremony so it is likely the ministry will issue – a less detailed press release on it. Do note that even if the LOA is issued, they could still be finalising the technical details of the ships
