MANILA – The United States Department is providing PHP450 million (USD8 million) in new funding to support the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).
The funds will aid in modernizing the PCG infrastructure enhancement, training program development, resource acquisition and management planning.
The funding was announced during a third Maritime Dialogue on Oct. 24 where the Philippines and the US discussed shared commitment to strengthening compliance with international law, as reflected in the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
The dialogue also addressed climate change impacts, illegal fishing and the importance of continued coordination on maritime law enforcement.
Launched in 2022, the Maritime Dialogue serves as a platform for the Philippines and the US to address shared maritime challenges and deepen operational coordination.

Erol Oguz, unmanned aerial systems programme manager at Turkish Aerospace, told ESD at LIMA that the UAV type being supplied to Malaysia will be a new version of the Anka-S with modified wings. Oguz also confirmed that the Ankas will NOt be armed, but will carry a maritime intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) payload that includes a synthetic aperture radar and an electro-optical/infra-red sensor.

2024 RASIO HUTANG 84,2% DARI GDP
The Finance Ministry stated that the aggregate national household debt stood at RM1.53 trillion between 2018 and 2023.
In aggregate, it said the household debt for 2022 was RM1.45 trillion, followed by RM1.38 trillion (2021,) RM1.32 trillion (2020), RM1.25 trillion (2019) and RM1.19 trillion (2018).
“The ratio of household debt to gross domestic product (GDP) at the end of 2023 also slightly increased to 84.2% compared with 82% in 2018,” it said.

• Makna
Warna merah dalam bendera Indonesia melambangkan darah dan simbol keberanian, sementara warna putih melambangkan kesucian. Sedangkan warna merah dan putih dalam bendera Monako merupakan warna yang identik dengan House of Grimaldi, dinasti yang berperan dalam sejarah berdirinya negara Monako.
