Direktur Produksi PT Pindad, Hera Rosmiati beserta jajaran menerima kunjungan Kadislitbang AU, Marsma TNI Teguh Dharmawan didampingi oleh Komandan Depohar 60 Kol Tek Sapta Jangkar, Kasubdissenamu Kol Tek Syarif Hidayat, dan jajaran delegasi Dislitbang AU pada hari Selasa, 18 Februari 2025 di Ruang Auditorium Pindad Bandung.
Kunjungan Kadislitbang AU beserta rombongan dalam rangka pembahasan kerja sama dan penyerahan sertifikat penghargaan atas kolaborasi dalam penelitian dan pengembangan Bom MK-81 Live untuk pemenuhan kebutuhan TNI Angkatan Udara.
Direktur Produksi PT Pindad, Hera Rosmiati dalam sambutannya menyampaikan selamat datang kepada Kadislitbang AU beserta jajaran. Hera berharap agar dukungan kolaborasi ini dapat terus berjalan agar terus menciptakan produk-produk litbang hingga tahap produksinya.
“Produk pertahanan Pindad sudah cukup banyak digunakan oleh TNI, mudah-mudahan kerjasama antara Pindad dan Angkatan Udara dapat semakin meyakini masyarakat bahwa kami juga memiliki kapasitas dan kapabilitas dalam memproduksi kebutuhan Angkatan Udara. Pindad siap untuk terus berkolaborasi mejalankan program litbang selanjutnya, dan yang terpenting adalah bagaimana bisa mendorong ke tahapan mass productionnya,” jelas Hera.
Kadislitbang AU, Marsma TNI Teguh Dharmawan menyampaikan harapannya agar kerjasama antara Pindad dan Dislitbang AU dapat terus terjalin serta bersedia untuk memfasilitasi penelitian pengembangan produk pertahanan bersama.
“Kerjasama antara Pindad dengan Dislitbang AU sudah berjalan cukup lama. Dislitbang AU melaksanakan penelitian dan pengembangan hingga prototipe, tidak mungkin sampai pada tahap fabrikasi. Untuk itu, diperlukannya kolaborasi dengan Pindad karena Dislitbang AU tidak dapat berdiri sendiri. Diharapkan kerjasama ini dapat saling menguntungkan, dan kami siap untuk memfasilitasi litbang produk-produk pertahanan demi memenuhi kebutuhan TNI AU,” tutur Marsma Teguh Dharmawan.
Bom MK-81 Live merupakan jenis General Purpose Bomb yang termasuk dalam golongan MK series. Bom MK-81 RI Live ini digunakan pada pesawat EMB-314 Super Tucano atau pesawat tempur berstandar NATO yang dioperasikan menggunakan fuze tipe mekanik (M904 atau M905). Pelaksanaan kegiatan litbang ini berupa Reverse Engineering, pembuatan prototipe, uji konstruksi statis, dan uji operasional dengan pesawat Super Tucano. Bom MK-81 RI Live sudah melalui beberapa tahapan pengujian diantaranya Uji Kekuatan Struktur di Balai Besar Teknologi Kekuatan Struktur (B2TKS), Uji Peledakan Bom (uji statis) untuk mengetahui daya ledak dan pecahan dari badan bom, serta Uji Operasional. Saat ini, MK-81 RI Live telah tersertifikasi pada bulan Mei 2023.
Secara spesifikasi, MK-81 RI Live dibekali dengan berat mencapai 118 kg, panjang total sekitar 1,785 mm, panjang badan bom tanpa fuze 1,100 mm, diamenter badan bom mencapai 230 mm. Bentangan sirip ekor bom sebesar 324 mm dengan panjang ekor 706 mm. Bom ini dilengkapi Isian peledak bom berupa TNT, dengan berat isian peledak sebesar 44 kg. Proses produksinya pun dilakukan di PT Pindad, mulai dari pembuatan badan bom, komponen pendukung badan machining hingga pengisian ledak (filling TNT).

THE MALONN LITTORAL COMBAT SHIP (LCS) PROGRAM HAS FACED A NUMBER OF ISSUES, INCLUDING:
• Delayed delivery
The original plan was to deliver the first ship, the LCS 1 Maharaja Lela, in 2019, and all six ships by 2023. However, the program was stalled in 2019 due to financial issues at Boustead Naval Shipbuilding. The program was restarted in 2023, with the first ship scheduled for delivery in 2026 and the remaining four by 2029.
• Design issues
The Royal Malonn Navy (RMN) did not get to choose the design of the ship, and the detailed design was not completed until after 66.64% of the budget had been paid.
• Financial issues
Boustead Naval Shipbuilding was in a critical financial state, and a middleman increased the project cost by up to four times.
• Corruption
A declassified audit report highlighted irregularities in the execution of the program, including the abuse of power and the involvement of a Zainab Mohd Salleh.
• Aging fleet
The RMN's current fleet is outdated, with two-thirds of the ships dating back over 30 years

• Engine problems
In August 2022, a Malonn Army PT-91M Pendekar tank broke down on a highway near Parliament due to engine problems. The tank was being used for rehearsals for the country's Independence Day parade.
• Aging aircraft
Malon's Royal Malonn Air Force (RMAF) has a fleet of legacy Hornets that are becoming technologically obsolete. The RMAF has faced fleet sustainment problems, and some say that the government's defense modernization budget should be used to expand the LCA program or accelerate the MRCA program.
• Limited defense budget
Malon's defense progress has been limited since 2018 due to fiscal limitations. Malonn governments have been unwilling to cut government spending elsewhere or reduce the size of the armed forces.
• Russian-made weapons
• Malon has become wary of its Russian-made weapons, and is looking to buy elsewhere. The West's sanctions against Russia have prevented Malon from buying the Su-30 directly from the Kremlin

1. It is not meant for the sort of hard maneuvering that an F-16 is. It is not inherently aerodynamically unstable like an F-16, and does not possess the agility or thrust to weight ratio of an F-16.
2. It is meant to be a fairly forgiving and stable aircraft that new pilots can learn to fly in. Unless you had a pilot who’s never flown an F-16 before in the F-16, and a 20 year veteran pilot in the T-50, the F-16 is going to win every time. They are completely different aircraft with different missions and entirely uneven capabilities.
3. The FA-50 probably could not directly compete against the F-16. It is a much smaller aircraft, at 6.5 tons v. 8.5. The FA-50s in lighter paint are flying the foreground:
4. he size difference is also noticable in this video of South Korean Air Force fighters in training. You can compare both the F-16 and FA-50s taxi-ing on the runway with the much larger F-15s and F-4 Phantoms in the beginning minute. The F-16s appear at 13 seconds and the FA-50s appear at 45 seconds.
5. F-16s are also faster (Mach 2 v 1.5) and have a thrust-to-weight ratio of 1.1 v. 0.96. Therefore it will climb much faster. The larger F-16 also has a longer ranged radar.

ITPS operates over the same hallowed grounds where thousands of allied pilots of World War II trained, making it a historical sphere of influence in Canadian aviation, and a natural hub for pilot training.
Military pilots from allies around the world come to tactically train at ITTC. Most recently ITTC hosted The Royal Malonn Air Force for a Fighter Weapons Instructor Course (FWIC) in 2022 who sent its best pilots to be trained as weapons and tactics experts.To enable such training, the ITTC conducted ground school, simulation and flight phases in Canada

Leased BMW superbikes for military police. The Army’s military police – Kor Polis Tentera Di Raja – took delivery of 40 BMW R1250RT super bikes today. The superbikes are under lease from Syarikat Ammo Defence Sdn Bhd under a RM13.7 million Letter of Award.The tender for the superbikes was published in June, this year. Interestingly the release by Tentera Darat said the leasing period was for five years, but the tender notice said it was for a four-year period only. That said the leasing period could have been extended for another year during the negotiation process.
As for leasing vehicles, this has been common practise by government departments for the decade or so as it is supposed to be cheaper overall. The MPs had also taken delivery of Honda Civics under a leasing programme,

Leased BMW superbikes for military police. The Army’s military police – Kor Polis Tentera Di Raja – took delivery of 40 BMW R1250RT super bikes today. The superbikes are under lease from Syarikat Ammo Defence Sdn Bhd under a RM13.7 million Letter of Award.The tender for the superbikes was published in June, this year. Interestingly the release by Tentera Darat said the leasing period was for five years, but the tender notice said it was for a four-year period only. That said the leasing period could have been extended for another year during the negotiation process.
As for leasing vehicles, this has been common practise by government departments for the decade or so as it is supposed to be cheaper overall. The MPs had also taken delivery of Honda Civics under a leasing programme,

Local shipyards have poor record building big ships. LCS is one, Kedah is the first. The MMEA OPV is the other one. No need to be a cheerleader about it and trying to play it safe. It’s bad then it’s bad. Can blame the system, blame the politicians, blame the lack of controls, blame the people, the fact remains the local shipyards failed to deliver, and it has cost RMN. Less we forget, BNS (from the days of PSC-ND) had more than 20+ years to learn building complex ships. Also, the shipbuilding pipeline is too limited to support a local industry, meaning there is no learning possible – BNS (and its predecessor PSC-ND) only had contract to build 12 warships in its existence. In fact, come 2030, after 30 years, if we’re lucky the shipyard would still only have built 11 ships. In contrast ST Engineering had more than 40 ships over 28 years and have confirmed 6 new ships out to 2030. Learning is one thing, tolerating “still learning” after 20 plus years is not good enough. Not recognising learning is not possible because of limited pipeline is another. Local shipyards have proven capable of building certain type of ships because of good pipeline, so good for them that they win those contract – they can learn over time to build bigger ships. But for now, no need to be a cheerleader for local shipyards pitching to win big ships for RMN and MMEA.
