Elbit Systems a leading Israeli defense company is currently preparing the next batch of ASOD 2 Sabrah Light Tanks for delivery to the Philippine Army.
The ASCOD 2 Sabrah Light Tanks are part of a procurement contract between the Philippine Army and Elbit Systems.
The presence of these tanks in Israel ready for delivery indicates that Elbit Systems is prepared to send the next batch to the Philippines.
Although the exact number of tanks in the upcoming delivery is not yet certain this development is indeed exciting.
Originally the Philippine Army was scheduled to receive 18 Tanks with 105 mm guns one Command Vehicle and one Armored Recovery Vehicle.
So far at least 10 tanks and the command variant have been onfirmed to have been delivered.
The upcoming delivery is expected to enhance the Firepower and versatility of the Philippine Armed Forces providing a significant boost to the nation's defense capabilities.
Currently the Philippine Army boasts a fleet of 10 ASCOD 2 Sabrah Light Tanks and one ASCOD 2 Command Post vehicle.

OFFERED PALADIN = United States has offered Malaysia up to 30 M109A5 Self Propelled Howitzer (SPH) under the Excess Defence Articles (EDA) programme. The M109s would be upgraded to the latest A5 standard before entering service with the Army, if the offer is taken up.
The upgrading could be done in the US or locally, industry sources told Malaysian Defence. It is likely around 20 SPH will be upgraded while the rest could be used as spares.
Malaysia has not been a keen EDA buyer previously as shown by the programme database, for reasons unknown. BalasHapusKalau ada yang mengira kenapa medium tank Pindad terkesan lambat produksinya, Hal tersebut wajar karena kapasitas produksi dari PT Pindad itu sangat terbatas, dan juga bukan hanya membuat Tank harimau saja. Tapi produksi alutsista yang lainnya juga seperti panser, ranpur, alat berat dll. Sehingga proses produksinya itu tak secepat bikin krupuk dan medium tank rencananya akan menggunakan turret buatan lokal, medium tank rencananya akan menggantikan tank amx yang ada di arsenal TNI 🤫
