TNI AL, Dispen Kormar Sorong -- Komandan Pasmar 3 Brigjen TNI (Mar) Andi Rahmat M., mewakili Komandan Korps Marinir (Dankormar) Mayjen TNI (Mar) Dr. Endi Supardi, S.E., M.M., M.Tr.Opsla., CHRMP., CRMP., menghadiri upacara pembukaan “Modern Day Marine 2025” yang berlokasi di Hall A & B, Walter E., Washington Convention Center, Washington D.C., Amerika Serikat. Selasa (29/04/2025).
Modern Day Marine 2025 merupakan sebuah pameran peralatan, system dan teknologi militer terbesar yang secara eksklusif berfokus pada kebutuhan Korps Marinir. Acara ini digelar selama tiga hari dari tanggal 29 April sampai dengan 01 Mei 2025 yang diikuti sebanyak 350 perusahaan pameran dalam menampilkan teknologi canggih guna memberikan inovasi-inovasi baru untuk mendukung operasi Korps Marinir di lingkungan pesisir dan multi-domain.
Pameran tersebut diawali dengan perkenalan dari Letjen Charles Chiarotti, USMC (Purn)., adalah seorang pensiunan Jenderal besar Korps Marinir di Amerika Serikat yang terakhir menjabat sebagai “Deputy Commandant for Installations and Logistics of the United States Marine Corps”, sekaligus membuka secara resmi “Modern Day Marine 2025” yang dimana acara ini terbuka untuk semua peserta yang diberikan kesempatan dalam menjelajahi aula pameran.
Dalam pidatonya, Letjen Charles Chiarotti, USMC (Purn)., mengatakan bahwa pameran ini merupakan platform penting yang bekerjasama antara insinyur pertahanan, personel militer, OEM, kontraktor utama dan lembaga pemerintah dalam upaya meningkatkan dan mengembangkan sistem teknologi yang modern terhadap tugas serta operasi Korps Marinir di seluruh dunia. Melalui acara ini, juga menyediakan sebuah forum interaksi dan diskusi militer yang menghadirkan para pemimpin senior, pakar materi dan juga Korps Marinir untuk mengeksplorasi pengetahuan serta wawasan guna membangun hubungan bilateral yang baik tentang upaya kolaboratif untuk membentuk masa depan kemitraan strategis.

“Modern Day Marine 2025 ini juga sebagai peringatan Ulang Tahun ke-250 Korps Marinir Amerika Serikat di seluruh dunia atau (The Marine Corps 250th Birthday) yang jatuh pada tanggal 10 November 2025 mendatang sebagai kesuksesan, kehormatan, keberanian, dan komitmen yang tak tergoyahkan. Marinir adalah pasukan pertama yang bertugas di ujung tombak dalam membentengi bangsa terhadap semua orang,” pungkasnya.
Pada hari pertama tersebut, dilaksankan sesi diskusi dengan pembicara yaitu, Jenderal Christopher J. Mahoney yang menjabat sebagai “Assistant Commandant Of The Marine Corps” serta Konvensi Simulasi Tempur (OBJ 1 Wargaming Convention) dalam hal ini OBJ 1 Wargaming ini merupakan demonstrasi, permainan game perang militer dan jaringan dalam bentuk tiga dimensi yang berbasis computer serta permainan papan di atas meja.
Selanjutnya Komandan Pasmar 3 berkesempatan mengunjungi serta melihat alutsista dan teknologi-teknolgi modern yang di pamerkan diantaranya Aerospace, Amunisi, Zirah, Artileri, Sistem Komando & Kontrol Penerbangan, Sistem Pendukung Tempur, Perintah & Kontrol Komunikasi, Peperangan Elektronik, Sistem Tenaga Ekspedisi, Alat Kebugaran, Logistik Darat, Peralatan Individu, Senjata Kecil Infanteri, Teknologi Informasi, Laser, Produk Pencahayaan, Medis, Sistem Rudal, Pemodelan dan Simulasi Tidak mematikan, Nuklir, Biologi, Kimia, Optik, Scopes, Aksesoris Perlengkapan Taktis, Kendaraan Udara Tanpa Awak, Kendaraan, dan Alat Pemeliharaan Senjata.

United States is continuing to provide funding for upgrades of facilities of the Armed Forces. The latest funding is for the upgrade of the Kota Belud firing range in Sabah. Army Eastern Field Commander Leftenant General Mohd Sofi Md Lepi said in Tawau on April 16 that they will work with the US Army Pacific (USARPAC) for the RM57.6 million upgrade of the shooting range.
