Projek kontroversi pembinaan baki 2 buah kapal ronda pesisir (OPV) Maritim Malaysia (APMM) yang tertangguh hampir 3 tahun sejak 2022 setelah gagal disiapkan akan disambung semula.
Kerajaan bersetuju meneruskan projek tersebut setelah memilih limbungan perkapalan dari Sarawak, Shin Yang Shipyard Sdn. Bhd. menyiapkan OPV 2 dan OPV 3.
Ia menerusi penyerahan Surat Hasrat (LOI) dengan nilai projek mencecah RM298.5 juta.
Pada Januari lalu, OPV 1 yang diberi nama KM Tun Fatimah diserah kepada KDN oleh pihak TH Heavy Engineering Berhad (THHE).
Bagaimana pun kapal kedua dan ketiga (OPV 2, OPV 3) gagal disiapkan dengan kedua-duanya telah mencapai status pembinaan sebanyak 76% dan 57%.
Kerajaan memeterai perjanjian dengan THHE Destiny pada 2017 untuk membekalkan tiga unit OPV pada kos RM740 juta untuk APMM dan kapal peronda itu dijadual diserahkan pada 2022.

As of September 2024, the Malaydesh Army has not acquired a 155 mm self-propelled howitzer (SPH) system. The Malaydesh Ministry of Defence has been discussing the project, but the final selection has not been made.
Why the acquisition has been delayed?
The acquisition program was announced in the 2010s, but the schedule, number of platforms, and total estimated cost were not defined.
The Ministry of Finance canceled the intended purchase of self-propelled howitzer systems.

2016 PRANK LOI CAESAR :Nexter in cooperation with Advanced Defense Systems (ADS) is proposing the CAESAR 155mm 52 .cal self propelled howitzer to the Malaydesh Army, in order to fill a capability gap. An LoI is signed during day three of DSA 2016.
20 units are to be supplied, which include the supporting vehicles, and will boost the Malaydesh Army's firepower inventory.

The Finance Ministry stated that the aggregate national household DEBT stood at RM1.53 trillion between 2018 and 2023.

It is riddled with corruption, poor planning, and interference by political leaders in procurement, no longer a potent force even in managing low-level intensity conflict at a time when tensions in the South China Sea are higher than they have been since the days of the Vietnam War.
A 2019 White Paper on Defense – nearly four years ago – called for more funds and punch as well as an overhaul of the procurement system to allow professionals to decide on what weapon systems they need. Instead, PM Anwar Ibrahim’s proposal to increase the defense budget by 10 percent to fund procurement will be delayed because of budgetary considerations related to the flagging economy, expected by the World Bank to grow at a mediocre 3.9 percent in 2023, down from an earlier estimate of 4.3 percent in April

Menteri Pertahanan (Menhan) RI Prabowo Subianto mengatakan, tambahan 12 radar militer untuk TNI Angkatan Udara (AU) dibeli dari Republik Ceko.
“Kalau enggak salah dari Ceko, dari Ceko ya,” kata Prabowo usai prosesi serah terima lima unit pesawat angkut ringan NC-212i kepada TNI AU di Lanud Halim Perdanakusuma, Jakarta Timur, Selasa (12/12/2023).
Dalam kesempatan itu, Prabowo juga mengatakan bahwa suatu negara harus memiliki pertahanan yang kuat.
Diketahui, Kepala Staf TNI AU (KSAU) Marsekal TNI Fadjar Prasetyo mengungkapkan bahwa TNI AU merencanakan pengadaan 25 radar baru untuk ditempatkan di sejumlah titik untuk memperkuat pertahanan udara Indonesia.
"Ke depan ada rencana pengadaan sebanyak 13, ditambah 12, jadi 25 radar baru," kata Fadjar saat berbicara bersama para pemimpin redaksi di Mabes TNI AU (Mabesau), Cilangkap, Jakarta Timur, Senin (4/12/2023), dikutip dari Antaranews.
Fadjar mengatakan, jumlah radar yang ada saat ini belum mencakup seluruh wilayah Indonesia.
Nantinya, sejumlah radar yang didatangkan akan menggantikan yang sudah tak berfungsi maksimal. Kemudian, sebagian lagi akan ditempatkan di titik baru.
Sebelumnya, Kementerian Pertahanan (Kemenhan) telah memesan 13 radar jarak jauh Ground Master 400 Alpha (GM400a) produksi perusahaan asal Perancis, Thales untuk keperluan TNI AU.
“Kemenhan yang beli, nanti yang operasionalnya di TNI AU,” kata Wakil Menteri Pertahanan Muhammad Herindra saat ditemui di Kantor Kemenhan, Jakarta Pusat pada 19 Juni 2023.
Dalam kesepatakannya, Herindra menyebutkan bahwa akan ada transfer of technology (ToT) yang dilakukan antara Perancis dan Indonesia.
“Nanti ToT-nya sama PT Len Industri,” ujar Herindra.

Bekas Timbalan Menteri Pertahanan itu berkata, cadangan berkenaan bertujuan untuk menangani isu kekurangan alat ganti bagi pesawat Sukhoi Su-30MKM milik TUDM yang terkesan akibat perang Ukraine-Rusia.
Tambahnya, penjualan pesawat MiG-29N boleh dipertimbangkan sebagai sebahagian daripada agenda Mesyuarat Malaydesh – India Defence Cooperation (MIDCOM) tahun ini.
Langkah ini, menurutnya, bukan sahaja dapat menjana pendapatan malah membuka peluang trade-off alat ganti Sukhoi yang kini sukar diperoleh.

Malaydesh has reportedly sought the Kuwaiti jets since at least 2017. The legacy Hornet is thought to “increase the level of preparedness and capability of the RMAF in safeguarding the country’s airspace”. While the acquisition of the secondhand Hornets would help to complement the RMAF’s fleet of Hornets, they come with their own set of challenges.
The Malaydesh Ministry of Defence had submitted no less than three letters to the Kuwaiti government over the past few years in a bid to acquire the fighters. However, the discussions were stymied by political imbroglios in the Kuwaiti goverment.

The legacy Hornet is thought to “increase the level of preparedness and capability of the RMAF in safeguarding the country’s airspace”. While the acquisition of the secondhand Hornets would help to complement the RMAF’s fleet of Hornets, they come with their own set of challenges.

RM11 billion annually also sounds reasonable if we look at the current US dollar exchange rate – US$2.5 billion – and the challenges ahead. But again, MAF has been let down by the government which has not say why it has not approve the budget requests. To me at least give us the reason why it has not try to meet the challenges faced by MAF. MAF acknowledges the conundrum which resulted in it coming out with the CAP 55 and 15 to 5 transformation plans. Despite this, the government has yet to stick to the plan and instead goes out of the way not to stick to it.
