Vietnam Coast Guard Receives High-speed Patrol Boat CSB 4040

On November 24, the Vietnam Coast Guard and Hong Ha Shipbuilding Company Limited (General Department of Defense Industry) held a handover ceremony for the TT-400 high-speed patrol boat, number 10 of the Vietnam Coast Guard (registration number CSB 4040) for official use.

Attending the handover ceremony were Major General Le Dinh Cuong, Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard ; Major General Pham Thanh Khiet, Deputy Director, Chief of Staff of the General Department of Defense Industry and representatives of relevant agencies.

The CSB 4040 ship belongs to the TT-400 high-speed patrol ship series. It is a steel-hulled ship with an aluminum alloy superstructure and a welded structure with a maximum length of 54.72m, a maximum width of 9.34m, a side height of 5.16m, a full-load displacement of 437.7 tons, and a maximum speed of 34 nautical miles/hour at average displacement. The ship was started construction and its keel was laid in January 2024.

With the highest determination to compete, along with the efforts of construction units, consulting and supervising agencies, and the active coordination of functional agencies, the project to build the new ship CSB 4040 has been completed on schedule and ensured quality.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Major General Le Dinh Cuong acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of Hong Ha Shipbuilding Company Limited in overcoming all difficulties, concentrating human and material resources to build and hand over Ship CSB 4040 to the Vietnam Coast Guard on time, ensuring good quality.

In addition, Major General Le Dinh Cuong requested that Coast Guard Region 4  , the unit receiving the CSB 4040, effectively manage, use and promote the features and technical tactics of the CSB 4040, considering this as the basis for successfully carrying out the task of protecting sovereignty and maintaining law enforcement in the seas and islands of the Fatherland.
