Since the first batch of New Generation Patrol Vessel (NGPV) are launched one by one smoothly, the whole project is expected to be completed within few years. Therefore, the focus now is switching to NGPV batch two. German TKMS is promoting its Patrol Corvette Meko 100 Batch II to the Royal Malaysian Navy. The most significant improvement is vertical launch system concept adopted.

According to the RMN's plan, second batch NGPV should be anti-submarine type vessel. Vertical launch anti-submarine system could be one of the options, or it can also install anti-air missiles instead.

On the other hand, Boustead Naval Shipyard reveals its own design NGPV Batch II. Vertical launch system is installed!
