Director of the National Budget Office, visited Lumut Naval Shipyard

Dato' Shahrol Anuwar Sarman, Director of the National Budget Office, visited Lumut Naval Shipyard (LUNAS) on September 7, 2024, as part of the working visit on the Procurement of Second Generation Patrol Vessels with Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Capabilities to Lumut, Perak. He was accompanied by Dato' Indera Ab Rahim Ab Rahman, Under Secretary of the Government Procurement Division, Ministry of Finance, along with delegations from the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Economy, and the Attorney General's Department. LUNAS Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ir. Azhar Jumaat, warmly welcomed the distinguished guests.

The event proceeded with a comprehensive update on the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) project, presented by Capt (B) Rosnizam Che Puteh, Project Director of LCS Projects, and Laksma Ir. Ts. Franklin Jeyasekhar Joseph, Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) LCS Project Director General. Both speakers shared detailed insights into the technical aspects and phases of the LCS project, outlining key milestones, challenges, and the technological advancements implemented in the vessel.

Following the presentation, the delegates embarked on a thorough tour of the ship, providing them with an up-close look at the vessel’s construction, operational systems, and state-of-the-art features. 

This in-depth view enabled the delegates to gain a comprehensive understanding of the LCS project, its development, and the level of expertise involved in its execution. The visit concluded with a tour of the Shore Integration Facility (SIF), which is the only one of its kind in Malaysia.
