Pada kesempatan Indonesia-Africa Forum (IAF) 2024, berlokasi di Hotel Mulia, Nusa Dua, Bali, PTDI dan A.D. Trade Belgium Company, mitra Pemerintah Republik Senegal dan Republik Demokratik Kongo dalam pengembangan usaha di bidang militer, menanda tangani Framework Agreement untuk pengadaan 2 (dua) unit pesawat CN235-220 Military Transport untuk end user Angkatan Udara Kongo dan kontrak perawatan Periodic Inspection 4-Year untuk 2 (dua) unit pesawat CN235-220 milik Angkatan Udara Senegal.
Pesawat CN235-220 merupakan salah satu produk unggulan PTDI yang telah digunakan di berbagai negara. “PTDI sudah melakukan ekspor CN235 ke negara-negara Afrika sejak awal tahun 2000, Burkina Faso ada 1, Guinea ada 1, dan Senegal ada 3,” kata Gita Amperiawan, Direktur Utama PTDI.
Kolaborasi pembangunan global ini adalah salah satu dari banyak inisiatif yang didorong Pemerintah Indonesia untuk memperdalam hubungan bilateral dengan negara-negara Afrika. Dengan mengembangkan kerja sama di sektor aviasi dan transportasi, diharapkan dapat membuka lebih banyak peluang bagi peningkatan investasi, perdagangan dan pertukaran teknologi antar kedua kawasan.

27 JUNI 2024 : Kuala Lumpur: On June 27 at Subang Air Force Base, Ambassador Edgard D. Kagan joined General Asghar Khan, Chief of the Royal Malaysian Air Force, to commemorate the conversion of three Royal Malaysian Air Force transport aircraft (CN235) into Maritime Surveillance Aircraft (MSA). The conversion program, which began in 2018 and totaled approximately $60 million U.S. dollars under the Maritime Security Initiative, served as the first major U.S. security grant program in Malaysia.
The CN-235s are now enhanced with maritime surveillance radars, electro-optical infrared turrets, beyond line-of sight communications and roll-on/roll-off system operator stations. The aircraft are attached to Squadron 1 at Kuching Airbase in Sarawak.
Between 2019-2023, the U.S. provided more than $240 million in total security assistance.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Kagan said, “With all three aircraft converted and incorporated into Malaysia’s overall maritime domain awareness architecture, we know that Malaysia is better able to maintain vigilant watch over activities within its Exclusive Economic Zones, and better postured to secure the maritime environment.“
U.S-Malaysia security cooperation includes eleven bilateral and five multilateral defense exercises, the most Malaysia has with any country, which enhance Malaysian defense readiness, strengthen multinational relationships, and demonstrate U.S. resolve to support a free and open Indo-Pacific.

GIFTED PAID BY US : Back in 2006, the US gifted Malaysia an unkNOwn number and type of coastal surveillance radars which were kNOwn colloquially as the 1206 radars. Some 17 years later the 1206 CSS radars have been upgraded which was also paid by the US.

27 JUNI 2024 : Kuala Lumpur: On June 27 at Subang Air Force Base, Ambassador Edgard D. Kagan joined General Asghar Khan, Chief of the Royal Malaysian Air Force, to commemorate the conversion of three Royal Malaysian Air Force transport aircraft (CN235) into Maritime Surveillance Aircraft (MSA). The conversion program, which began in 2018 and totaled approximately $60 million U.S. dollars under the Maritime Security Initiative, served as the first major U.S. security grant program in Malaysia.
The CN-235s are now enhanced with maritime surveillance radars, electro-optical infrared turrets, beyond line-of sight communications and roll-on/roll-off system operator stations. The aircraft are attached to Squadron 1 at Kuching Airbase in Sarawak.
Between 2019-2023, the U.S. provided more than $240 million in total security assistance.

KUALA LUMPUR – Rancangan perolehan aset baharu Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia (TLDM) dijangka akan menelan belanja sekurang-kurangnya RM10 bilion untuk tempoh Rancangan Malaysia Ke-13 (RMKe-13).
Perkara tersebut dinyatakan oleh Timbalan Menteri Pertahanan, Adly Zahari semasa Perbahasan Penggulungan Laporan Ketua Audit Negara (LKAN) di Dewan Rakyat, hari ini.
Menurut beliau, perolehan Kapal Misi Pesisir (Littoral Mission Ship) Batch Kedua (LMSB2) yang dilakukan oleh kerajaan pada Jun lalu merupakan sebahagian daripada usaha untuk memperkasakan armada TLDM.
“Di bawah RMKe-13 pula, usaha memperkasakan armada TLDM diteruskan dengan termeterainya perjanjian perolehan bagi tiga buah kapal Littoral Mission Ship Batch 2 dengan negara Turkiye baru-baru ini,” katanya di Dewan Rakyat.
Perolehan 3 buah LMSB2 itu dilakukan melalui kaedah Government to Government (G2G) dengan negara Turkiye.
RMKe-13 merangkumi tempoh tahun 2026-2030.
“Perolehan bagi baki 3 buah LMS lagi akan dimasukkan di bawah RMKe-13,” ujar beliau.
Selain LMS, TLDM turut merancang perolehan 2 buah kapal Multi Role Support Ship (MRSS), 3 buah kapal Littoral Mission Ship Batch 3, 4 buah helikopter anti kapal selam dan 6 buah Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV).
“Proses perolehan bagi aset-aset baharu ini dijangka berlangsung sehingga 2030. Kesemua perolehan aset TLDM ini dianggarkan berjumlah RM10 – RM11 bilion bergantung kepada keadaan ekonomi semasa kerajaan,” katanya.
