Kepala Staf Angkatan Laut (Kasal) Laksamana TNI Dr. Muhammad Ali berkesempatan mengunjungi beberapa industri pertahanan strategis China, antara lain Jiangnan Shipyard di Shanghai, Wuchang Shipyard di Wuhan, pembuatan Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) di Baotou dan exhibition centre di Beijing, pekan lalu.
Dalam kesempatan tersebut, Kasal mendapatkan penjelasan tentang kemampuan industri pertahanan strategis China antara lain Destroyer kelas 052D, kapal selam S26, pesawat Maritime Patrol Aircraft, helikopter Anti Kapal Selam (AKS), Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) maupun rudal dan meriam anti udara.
Kunjungan ke beberapa industri pertahanan strategis ini merupakan rangkaian kunjungan kerja Kasal di China setelah sebelumnya mengikuti kegiatan 19th Western Pacific Naval Symposium (WPNS) yang diselenggarakan di Qingdao, China, pada tanggal 21 - 25 April 2024 lalu.
Kegiatan WPNS tersebut diikuti oleh 29 pimpinan Angkatan Laut dari negara-negara WPNS seperti, Amerika Serikat, Australia, Bangladesh, Belanda, Brunei Darussalam, Chile, Ekuador, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Jepang, Kamboja, Kanada, Kolombia, Korea Selatan, Malaysia, Meksiko, New Zealand, Pakistan, Papua Nugini, Perancis, Peru, Rusia, Singapura, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Tonga, United Kingdom dan Vietnam.
WPNS merupakan forum dua tahunan yang beranggotakan Angkatan Laut negara-negara di kawasan Pasifik Barat dan sekitarnya, di mana pada tahun ini WPNS mengambil tema “Ocean With a Shared Future”.

NO UPGRADE - RUSAK : LPM-12Y merupakan senggaraan peringkat Depot Level Maintenance (DLM) bagi pesawat F/A-18D yang telah dijalankan di dalam negara sejak tahun 2021. M45-07 merupakan pesawat kedua yang telah selesai senggaraan yang bermula dari 5 Jan 2023 sehingga 15 April 2024. Penyelengaraan ini melibatkan pemeriksaan menyeluruh terhadap struktur pesawat, penilaian kerosakan dan baik pulih kerosakan struktur yang disebabkan haus dan lusuh atau kemerosotan material ke atas pesawat akibat faktor persekitaran dan pengeporasian pesawat.
