Fifth Vietnamese Kilo Submarine has Completed the First Sea Trials

HQ-186 "Danang" project 636.1 submarine, based on the "Admiralty Shipyards" for the Vietnamese Navy completed its first outlet in the sea under the sea trials and returned to the outfitting quay plant.

This submarine is the fifth submarine of this project. Parent submarine HQ-182 "Hanoi" was delivered to Cam Ranh December 31, 2013. The official ceremony of diesel-electric submarines in the Vietnamese Navy was held in January 15, 2014. The second series of diesel-electric submarines HQ-183 "Ho Chi Minh" arrived in Cam Ranh March 19, 2014. Signing of technical acceptance took place on January 16, 2014. Third SSK HQ-184 "Hai Phong" arrived in Vienne January 28, 2015. The fourth "Warszawianka" moored in Cam Ranh Bay in late June. Last boat series is currently being prepared to be launched. 

The contract, worth approximately $ 1.8 billion for the supply of six Vietnamese Navy diesel-electric submarines project 636.1 was signed on 15 December 2009 during the visit of Russian Prime Minister of Vietnam Nguyen Tan Dung. The total cost of the agreement, including the establishment of the necessary infrastructure for the operation is estimated at 3.0-3.2 billion dollars. 

Diesel-electric submarine HQ-186 "Danang" was founded by JSC "Admiralty Shipyards" July 1, 2013 and launched on 28 December 2014. The sixth submarine HQ-187 "Ba Ria-Vung Tau" was founded May 28, 2014, transfer to the Vietnamese Navy is scheduled for 2016.
