Russia Delivered Last Two Su-30MK2 Fighters to Vietnam

Sukhoi aircraft maker named Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Production Association (KnAAPO) has handed over 2 final Su-30MK2 multirole fighter to the Vietnamese Air Force.

2 new Su-30MK2 fighters, bringing the total number of advanced combat aircraft of this type in the Vietnamese Air Force up to 36 units into service .

Interfax-AVN citing sources in the Russian aviation industry said Thursday 6/2, two new Su-30MK2 multirole fighter, built for the Vietnamese Air Force with the serial number 88 520 and 88 521, has been loaded to a super-heavy transport aircraft An-124-100 and transport to Vietnam in the past day 06.02.2016.

The source said, the two Su-30MK2 Russia finally handed over to Vietnam within the framework of a contract to supply 12 aircraft of this type are signed by two party in May 8/2013.

4 The first Su-30MK2 (bearing number 8581, 8582, 8583 and 8584) have been delivered to Vietnamese Air Force in October and May 12/2014.

Two delivery on month 8/2015, two on month 12/2015, two on 01/08/2016 and the last two on 02.06.2016. 

According to the initial handover plan, all 12 fighters Su-30MK2 will be handed over to the Vietnamese Air Force finished before the end of 2015. However, the actual handover has slowed nearly 2 months .

Anyhow, the contract has been completed on the aircrfat to the present time, meaning that the number of fighters of this type was put into service in the air forces up to 36 units.

The fighter squadrons modern multirole Su-30MK2 after going into operation will significantly enhance combat power for the Vietnamese Air Force.
