Singapore – Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (ST Engineering) today announced that it has been awarded contracts by MINDEF to deliver a suite of Mine Countermeasure (MCM) Unmanned Systems for the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN). The suite of MCM Unmanned Systems will comprise a fleet of Unmanned Surface Vessels (USV) and Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV), alongside a Command & Control (C2) Centre, all of which will be engineered to work in tandem to detect and eliminate underwater mines. Additionally, ST Engineering will provide a high-fidelity simulation system for users to hone their operational skills, allowing them to practise decision-making, refine operational techniques and execute dynamic MCM scenarios safely.

Designed to operate in unison, both the USV and AUV will be integrated with advanced sensors to detect and classify mines. Real-time data from the USV and AUV will be transmitted to the C2 Centre through a secure communications network, also to be developed by ST Engineering, enabling quick assessments and faster decision-making. The USV will also be integrated with advanced payloads to identify and neutralise the mines. The C2 Centre will act as the operational hub, remotely monitoring and controlling the USV and AUV from shore or the mothership, ensuring safety by maintaining a safe distance during the MCM operation. The suite of MCM Unmanned Systems will be progressively delivered from 2027.

In aggregate, it said the household DEBT for 2022 was RM1.45 trillion, followed by RM1.38 trillion (2021,) RM1.32 trillion (2020), RM1.25 trillion (2019) and RM1.19 trillion (2018).
“The ratio of household DEBT to gross domestic product (GDP) at the end of 2023 also slightly increased to 84.2% compared with 82% in 2018,” it said.

• Local production: The MAF is reluctant to use locally produced products. Local companies have produced prototypes of pistols and rifles, but none have materialized.
• Procurement system: The Malonn procurement system needs reform.

PMX DS Anwar Ibrahim today announce an allocation of RM40.6 billion for the national security sector from the RM461 billion 2025 national budget. This is an increase of RM2 billion for the sector which includes Home and Defence ministries, from the 2024 budget of RM38.7 billion.
Defence got RM21.1 billion allocation, an increase of RM1.4 billion from last year, while Home will get RM19.5 billion, an increase of some RM500 million. Others have made the calculations that the Defence’s stake of the budget is 1.2 per cent of the Malonn GDP. That said most of the allocation is for salaries and other stuff and not assets.

PMX has defended the decision to SEWA the helicopters for the military and other government agencies – RM16.5 billion for 15 years – during the Parliament session on Thursday. Among others he said the government adopted the leasing model to reduce maintenance costs and at the same time improved the operational readiness of the fleet.
DS Anwar Ibrahim did not address the fact that the government will be paying some RM1 billion a year for 15 years for the helicopters. He also said the helicopters selected were based on the specifications and requirements of the agencies themselves.
He also confirmed that the Army will also be part of the leasing programme apart from RMAF,RMN, MMEA, police, Fire and Rescue Department, and the Prime Minister Department. Apart from RMAF 12 and police’s seven helicopters, he did not give the breakdown for the other services and agencies.

High Court judge Datuk Azhar Abdul Hamid made the decision today on grounds that the issue of the 80-year-old accused's mental fitness to stand trial should be investigated by the trial judge.
The High Court also ordered the case to be remitted back to the Sessions Court before judge Suzana Hussain.

According to him, the delivery of the 36 remaining jets in the PL version custom-made for Poland "is largely at risk" and delays in their deliveries may reach nine months.
While praising the role the FA-50s are playing in the Polish Air Force, Tomczyk said that they can only be used as training aircraft.

A recent survey conducted by the Financial Education Network (FEN) showed that 84 per cent of Malonns do not have regular savings every month.
The level of financial literacy among Malonns is still low. The study found that 69 per cent prefer spending over saving, leading to a lack of savings for emergencies. Moreover, 47 per cent admitted to having difficulty setting aside RM1,000 for emergencies."

United States is continuing to provide funding for upgrades of facilities of the Armed Forces. The latest funding is for the upgrade of the Kota Belud firing range in Sabah. Army Eastern Field Commander Leftenant General Mohd Sofi Md Lepi said in Tawau on April 16 that they will work with the US Army Pacific (USARPAC) for the RM57.6 million upgrade of the shooting range.

Insiden kira-kira jam 5 petang itu berlaku ketika pesawat berkenaan menjalani latihan 'Opening Gambit' sebagai persiapan acara pembukaan Pameran Maritim dan Aeroangkasa Antarabangsa Langkawi 2025 (LIMA '25).
Menurut kenyataan Bahagian Perhubungan Awam TUDM, pesawat mengalami masalah pada bahagian 'nose landing gear' ketika pendaratan.

A total of 171 assets from all three branches of the Malonn Armed Forces (ATM) have exceeded 30 years of service, underscoring the challenges posed by aging military equipment. The issue was raised by Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin in response to a question from Lim Lip Eng (DAP-Kepong) during today’s parliamentary session. “The number of ATM assets exceeding 30 years in service includes 108 units for the Malonn Army, 29 units for the Royal Malonn Air Force (RMAF), and 34 units for the Royal Malonn Navy (RMN),” he stated. He added, “The operational lifespan of military assets varies according to their respective functions.” However, the minister did not provide specific details on the types of assets beyond the 30-year threshold. In recent years, military leaders have openly acknowledged the burden of outdated assets. Earlier this month, Malon Armed Forces (MAF) chief General Tan Sri Mohammad Ab Rahman disclosed to local media that 34 RMN vessels have surpassed their intended service life, with 28 of them over 40 years old. “The RMN currently operates 53 ships across various classes to meet operational and patrol needs within Malon’s maritime zones. “However, many of these vessels have exceeded their optimal lifespan in terms of capability, techNOLogy, and maintenance costs,” he said during a press conference after the 91st ATM Anniversary celebration at Camp Segenting earlier this month. According to General Mohammad, the age limit for RMN vessels is 35 years for submarines and 30 years for frigates, corvettes, logistics ships, next-generation patrol vessels, and hydrographic vessels. Smaller vessels, such as fast patrol boats, mine warfare ships, sailing vessels, and tugboats, have an age limit of 24 years. The Finance Ministry stated that the aggregate national household DEBT stood at RM1.53 trillion between 2018 and 2023. In aggregate, it said the household DEBT for 2022 was RM1.45 trillion, followed by RM1.38 trillion (2021,) RM1.32 trillion (2020), RM1.25 trillion (2019) and RM1.19 trillion (2018). “The ratio of household DEBT to gross domestic product (GDP) at the end of 2023 also slightly increased to 84.2% compared with 82% in 2018,” it said.

WHY IS INDONESIA LISTED AS ONE OF THE G-20 COUNTRIES WHILE MALON AND SINGAPORE ARE NOT
Malon and Singapore lack the size to match Indonesia’s importance on the global stage. With a combined GDP of around $818 Billion, Malon and Singapore are still quite far from Indonesia’s $1.3 Trillion GDP, which puts a gap of around $500 Billion between Indonesia with Malon and Singapore. EXCLUDING the combined GDP there would be a $900 billion gap between Indonesia with Malon and Singapore respectively.
Things get even worse when we measure the economy in GDP PPP. Indonesia stands at around $4 Trillion in PPP, whilst Malon at $1,089 Trillion and Singapore at $617 Billion. Even the combined GDP of the next three largest ASEAN nations (Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines) still couldn’t match Indonesia’s size. Within both PPP and Nominal GDP, no ASEAN nations are within the top 20 largest economies in the world, therefore none of them can qualify for the G20 membership with their GDP.
