The U.S. Department of State has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of New Zealand for MH-60R Multi-Mission Helicopters and related equipment. The estimated total cost is $1.5 billion.

The Government of New Zealand has requested to buy five (5) MH-60R Multi-Mission Helicopters; seven (7) Link 16 Multifunctional Information Distribution Systems Joint Tactical Radio Systems (5 installed, 2 spares); fourteen (14) Embedded Global Positioning System/Precise Positioning Service/Inertial Navigation Systems with Selective Availability Anti-Spoofing Module (10 installed, 4 spares); five (5) Airborne Low Frequency Sonar systems; two hundred twenty-five (225) Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS) missiles; two hundred twenty-five (225) WGU-59A/B APKWS II guidance sections (single variant); sixty-five (65) AGM-114R Hellfire missiles; four (4) M36E8 Hellfire Captive Air Training Missiles; five (5) digital magnetic anomaly detection systems; and five (5) M240D 7.62mm machine guns. This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security of the United States by improving the security of a major ally that is a force for political stability and economic progress in the Asia-Pacific region.

The proposed sale will improve New Zealand’s capability to meet current and future warfare threats by providing greater security for its critical infrastructure. New Zealand will use the enhanced capability to strengthen its homeland defense. New Zealand will have no difficulty absorbing these articles and services into its armed forces. (US State Gov)

The U.S. Department of State has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of New Zealand for MK 54 Torpedoes and related equipment. The estimated cost is $69 million.

The Government of New Zealand has requested to buy twenty (20) MK 54 MOD 0 Lightweight Torpedoes all up round. The following non-MDE items will also be included: storage and issue facilities; recoverable exercise torpedoes; air launch accessories; classified and unclassified torpedo spare parts; torpedo containers; torpedo support equipment including test equipment and tools; torpedo support services; unclassified books and other publications; other technical assistance including technical support, technical program management, infrastructure support, test equipment sustainment, exercise firing assistance, contract management, and initial follow-on technical support; in-country torpedo training; and other related elements of logistics and program support.

This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security of the United States by improving the security of a major ally that is a force for political stability and economic progress in the Asia-Pacific region.

SEA Strengthens Royal Malaysian Naval Partnership With Support And Training Contract

SEA has been awarded a contract with Lumut Naval Shipyard (LUNAS) to provide in-country training and support to the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN). The agreement will enhance the navy’s operational readiness, availability and its capability effectiveness. 

The support and training contract will provide the Royal Malaysian Navy with two sets of ship spares, supported by a Train the Trainer course hosted at SEA’s facility in Barnstaple (UK) and an in-country Operator & Maintainer Training course to further develop naval technical expertise. 

Following successful completion of the Train the Trainer course in 2026, SEA’s ongoing support includes a recertification opportunity in 2028 to provide ongoing knowledge transfer and enable the self-sufficiency and long-term capability availability for the RMN.  

The contract builds on SEA’s existing relationship with the RMN following the contract extension with LUNAS to supply its fixed triple configuration Torpedo Launcher System (TLS) to the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN).

Boeing Expands Precision Aerial Munition Partnership with Ferra

BRISBANE, Queensland — Boeing has selected Ferra Engineering to produce wing kits for its High Altitude Anti-Submarine Warfare Weapon Capability (HAAWC). The contract extends the existing partnership between Boeing and Ferra and establishes a local production line for the advanced system, further strengthening Australia’s sovereign defence capabilities.

The HAAWC is designed to be deployed from Boeing’s P-8A multi-mission maritime patrol aircraft. This all-weather, air-launched torpedo kit allows operators to engage submarines from high altitudes, significantly enhancing operational effectiveness and ensuring crew safety.

“Local HAAWC production with Ferra means more skilled jobs in Australia and deeper sovereign manufacturing capability,” said Bob Ciesla, vice president, Boeing Precision Engagement Systems. “This partnership serves as a practical investment in national defence and regional security aligned to Australia’s Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance Enterprise sovereign objectives.”

Ferra supplies precision components to various Boeing programs — including the Australian manufactured MQ-28 Ghost Bat as well as exporting components to the US for the F/A-18F Super Hornet, AH-64E Apache and P-8A Poseidon — developed as part of the Australian Defence Force’s Global Supply Chain Program. In 2023, the companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding to produce wing kits for Joint Direct Attack Munition Extended Range (JDAM ER) and Joint Direct Attack Munition Long Range (JDAM LR).

Angkatan Laut Vietnam Berlatih Menembakkan Torpedo dan Peluru Tajam di Laut

Naval Region 1 melakukan pelatihan dan uji coba peluru tajam, menggunakan senjata dan artileri yang bertugas untuk menghancurkan target di udara dan di laut pada siang dan malam hari, serta berlatih menembakkan torpedo di perairan Quang Ninh.

Informasi dari Naval Region 1 (Angkatan Laut, Kementerian Pertahanan Nasional) menyebutkan bahwa pada 2-3 Oktober di wilayah laut Quang Ninh, unit tersebut menyelenggarakan pelatihan dan uji coba tembakan langsung untuk unit-unit kapal, termasuk menembakkan torpedo tiruan di laut. Kolonel Phan Tien Bao, Wakil Komandan Naval Region 1 dan Kolonel Vu Huu Kiem, Wakil Komisaris Politik Region 1, mengarahkan dan memantau para perwira dan prajurit unit dalam menjalankan tugas mereka.

Dalam sesi latihan dan inspeksi, skuadron kapal Brigade 169 dan Brigade 170 (Naval Region 1) melakukan uji tembak langsung pada latihan 5a dan 5b, menggunakan senjata dan artileri yang bertugas untuk menghancurkan target di udara dan di laut pada siang dan malam hari, serta berlatih menembakkan torpedo tiruan.

Untuk mencapai hasil terbaik dalam inspeksi, unit-unit tersebut memahami dan mengikuti rencana dari atas secara ketat, melakukan persiapan yang matang dalam segala aspek, menyelenggarakan pelatihan untuk menguasai latihan menembak, dan melaksanakan kegiatan partai dan politik untuk membangun motivasi dan tekad yang tinggi bagi pasukan.

Jenis torpedo yang digunakan oleh Naval Region 1 untuk latihan adalah 53PA. Spesifikasi torpedo diumumkan pada Pameran Prestasi Nasional. Dengan demikian, torpedo 53PA adalah torpedo bertenaga gas dengan kepala homing, alat peledak gabungan, dan gerakan bawah air; digunakan untuk menghancurkan kapal permukaan, kapal selam permukaan, dan struktur terapung musuh. Torpedo 53PA memiliki diameter 533,4 mm, panjang 7,9 m, dan berat 1,9 ton (mengandung 210 kg bahan peledak). Jarak tembak maksimum torpedo adalah 11 km, dan kecepatannya 29 mil laut/jam. Kedalaman operasi saat menembak dalam pertempuran berkisar antara 6-8 m, dan mode pencarian berkisar antara 12-16 m. Volume udara terkompresi yang diperlengkapi untuk torpedo adalah 745 liter, memastikan operasi yang stabil selama pergerakan dan serangan.

Selama latihan menembak, formasi kapal dan awak tempur berkoordinasi erat, menangani situasi secara fleksibel, mengenai dan menembak sasaran dengan tepat, memastikan keamanan mutlak.

Uji coba ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi tingkat organisasi komando, kemampuan menguasai senjata dan peralatan, serta kemampuan berkoordinasi dan bekerja sama para perwira dan prajurit di kapal angkatan laut. Dalam foto tersebut, armada 356 dan 357 dari Brigade 170 berlatih menembak dan menghancurkan target udara.

Dengan demikian, ini menjadi dasar untuk mengorganisir pertukaran pengalaman, mengusulkan langkah-langkah untuk meningkatkan kualitas pelatihan, memenuhi persyaratan kesiapan tempur, dan dengan teguh melindungi kedaulatan laut dan kepulauan Tanah Air dalam situasi baru. Hasil tembakannya 100% baik dan luar biasa, unit tersebut sepenuhnya aman.

Malaysia Tembakkan Torpedo Aktif dari Kapal Selam Scorpène untuk Pertama Kalinya

Malaysia telah menembakkan torpedo aktif dari salah satu kapal selam diesel-listrik (SSK) kelas Perdana Menteri (Scorpène) untuk pertama kalinya, 16 tahun setelah kapal tersebut diresmikan.

Menanggapi permintaan klarifikasi dari Janes, seorang perwakilan dari Angkatan Laut Kerajaan Malaysia (TLDM) mengonfirmasi pada 5 Agustus bahwa penembakan perdana senjata jenis tersebut terjadi pada Latihan ‘Taming Sari 23/25’ yang baru saja berakhir.

Dalam pernyataan yang dikeluarkan pada 29 Juli untuk menandai keberhasilan penyelesaian latihan, TLDM menyatakan bahwa SSK KD Tun Razak untuk pertama kalinya menembakkan torpedo Black Shark yang "dikonfigurasi untuk perang".

Perwakilan TLDM mengonfirmasi bahwa ini merujuk pada versi aktif torpedo Black Shark, dan satu putaran senjata ditembakkan dari Tun Razak selama latihan untuk memvalidasi kemampuan tempur kapal selam tersebut.

Selain penembakan torpedo aktif perdana, kapal saudara Tun Razak, KD Tunku Abdul Rahman, juga melakukan aktivitas penembakan rudal terkoordinasi dengan korvet kelas Kasturi, KD Lekir, dan fregat kelas Lekiu pertama, KD Lekiu.

Baik Lekir maupun Lekiu masing-masing meluncurkan rudal antikapal Exocet MM40, sementara Tunku Abdul Rahman menembakkan rudal Exocet SM39 yang diluncurkan dari tabung torpedo selama latihan yang berlangsung di Laut Cina Selatan.

"Keberhasilan penembakan ini jelas menunjukkan keseriusan TLDM dalam hal kemampuan dan tekad kami dalam mempertahankan kedaulatan dan integritas zona maritim Malaysia," demikian pernyataan TLDM pada 29 Juli.

Australia Bolsters Submarine Lethality Under $200 Million Deal

The Albanese Government is enhancing the lethality of Australia’s submarine fleet under a $200 million agreement with the United States to acquire additional quantities of state-of-the-art torpedoes.

Designed for both anti-submarine warfare and anti-surface warfare, the additional stocks of MK-48 Heavy Weight Torpedoes will deliver a critical boost to the defensive and offensive capabilities of Australia’s Collins class submarines. The MK-48 will also be used on Australia’s future nuclear-powered submarines. 

The MK-48 is the product of a joint program between the Australian Government and United States Government. This involves the joint development of MK-48 hardware and software and supports the acquisition and sustainment of the capability for both the Royal Australian Navy and United States Navy, underscoring the depth of our longstanding alliance.

Australian MK-48 Heavy Weight Torpedoes are procured as sections that are assembled and tested at the Torpedo Maintenance Facility in Western Australia, which is also certified to assemble, maintain and test the weapon for use in United States Navy platforms.

This procurement contributes to Australia’s deterrence capabilities and is another example of the Albanese Government’s progress in delivering the 2024 National Defence Strategy.

Defense Official Statement on AUKUS Pillar 2 and Exercise Maritime Big Play

Through AUKUS, we are working across the full spectrum of capability development, generating requirements, co-developing new systems, deepening industrial based collaboration and ultimately delivering advanced capabilities to our forces. AUKUS Pillar 1 focuses these co-development efforts on delivering an advanced nuclear power submarine capability through the optimal pathway.

Pillar 2 focuses on the development and delivery of emerging technology. AUKUS Pillar 2 is designed to harness the combined industrial and innovation bases of the tri-lateral partners to ensure that our forces are equipped with cutting edge interoperable military capabilities and prepared to face down aggression in whatever form it may take.

In Pillar 2, we're building a more capable combined joint force for the future, working across the full spectrum of capability development and we're already delivering. This year, we're advancing our undersea warfare capabilities by expanding our ability to launch and recover uncrewed underwater systems from torpedo tubes on current classes of British and US submarines, that will increase the range and capability of our undersea forces.

We're integrating the Stingray lightweight torpedo into the P-8A maritime patrol aircraft, which will support our forces in being more interchangeable while providing resilience to munitions stockpiles across AUKUS nations. At the same time, we're also implementing a fundamental shift to more closely integrate our systems and break down barriers to collaboration at every stage and in every part of our systems.

We've welcomed collaboration with the International Joint Requirements Oversight Council or I-JROC, a critical collaborative forum to identify and validate joint and combined requirements. The I-JROC will ensure that we have prioritized combined and joint solutions from the very start and that the capabilities we develop under Pillar 2 address some of the most pressing challenges our forces face.

A cornerstone of AUKUS Pillar 2 remains the opportunity to leverage the best of our defense industrial bases in combined innovation communities. This year we executed the first office innovation challenge focused on electronic warfare. We announced the winners last month and our teams are working to develop a robust two-year plan to increase the collaboration between and among our innovation centers of excellence.

This week we're here in Jervis Bay to observe the Maritime Big Play, which is an important demonstration of AUKUS in action. The Maritime Big Play is a series of integrated trilateral experiments and exercises aimed at enhancing capability development, improving interoperability and increasing the sophistication and scale of autonomous systems in the maritime domain. These experiments address the need to expand the reach, capability and capacity of our forces in the maritime environment through the use of artificial intelligence and autonomous systems.

BRP Antonio Luna (FF151) recently achieved a significant milestone with the successful completion of Blueshark Torpedo Operations and Maintenance Training by four (4) of its personnel. The training, which took place from 29th November to 29th December 2023 in South Korea under LIG Nex1 Company, provided the students with an in-depth understanding of the technical specifications, functions, capabilities, operation and maintenance of the Blueshark torpedo.

The completion of this training is expected to significantly enhance the Philippine Navy's Anti-submarine Warfare capabilities, allowing them to leverage this advanced weapons system effectively, and a key step forward for BRP Antonio Luna as they continue to equip themselves with the necessary skills and knowledge to fulfill their duties and responsibilities aboardship.

TNI AL Sukses Latihan Penembakan Dua Torpedo Kapal Selam

Dua torpedo Kapal Selam TNI Angkatan Laut (TNI AL) yaitu Torpedo dari KRI Cakra-401 dan Wet Firing Test Torpedo dari KRI Alugoro-405 berhasil ditembakkan dan tepat mengenai sasaran saat latihan penembakan torpedo di sekitar perairan Sapudi pada Minggu (22/10).

Unsur-unsur yang terlibat dalam latihan peperangan ini antara lain KRI Cakra-401, KRI Alugoro-405, KRI Raden Eddy Martadinata- 331, KRI Soputan-923, KRI Sultan Hasanuddin-366, KRI Sultan Iskandar Muda-367, Heli Panther AKS, dan Drone Scan Eagle.

Kepala Staf Angkatan Laut (Kasal) Laksamana TNI Muhammad Ali menyaksikan di Pusat informasi Tempur (PIT) KRI Raden Eddy Martadinata-331 (KRI REM 331) atas keberhasilan latihan peperangan kapal selam dengan uji penembakan dua torpedo kepala latihan tersebut, dengan disimulasikan KRI REM 331 sebagai sasaran tembak kapal permukaan.

 

Latihan ini merupakan salah satu implementasi program prioritas Kasal dalam membangun kekuatan Angkatan Laut yang bertumpu pada Sistem Senjata Armada Terpadu (SSAT) sebagai kekuatan yang siap dioperasikan, sehingga pengembangan dan modernisasi alutsista guna meningkatkan kekuatan dan kesiapan tempur. 

Keberhasilan latihan penembakan dua torpedo tersebut merupakan wujud keberhasilan TNI AL dalam menguji kekuatan dan kesiapan kapal selam pada peperangan Kapal Selam (Submarine Warfare) dan sekaligus peperangan Anti Kapal Selam (Anti-Submarine Warfare).

AS dan Australia Sepakat untuk Bersama-sama Memproduksi Peluru Kendali

AS dan Australia telah sepakat untuk memperkuat kerja sama dalam upaya Canberra untuk mengembangkan dan memproduksi senjata berpemandu secara lokal. Kesepakatan itu diumumkan pada akhir Juli pada Konsultasi Menteri Australia-AS ke-33 (AUSMIN) yang diadakan di Brisbane, menurut pernyataan bersama.

Berdasarkan perjanjian tersebut, kedua negara akan memperdalam kerja sama dalam Perusahaan Peluru Kendali dan Bahan Peledak (Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance/GWEO) Australia, sebuah proyek yang diluncurkan pada tahun 2021. Kedua negara mengatakan fokus awal GWEO adalah kolaborasi dalam memproduksi Sistem Roket Peluncuran Berganda Terpandu/Guided Multiple Launch Rocket Systems.

Dalam konferensi pers, Menteri Pertahanan AS Lloyd Austin mengatakan, “Kami mengejar beberapa prakarsa yang saling menguntungkan … dan ini termasuk komitmen terhadap Sistem Roket Luncur Berganda Terpandu Australia, atau GMLRS, pada tahun 2025.”

Selain itu, kedua negara mengatakan mereka akan mereformasi rezim kontrol ekspor dan memfasilitasi transfer data teknis ke Australia untuk mendukung produksi lokal peluru artileri M795 155 mm di masa depan. Mereka juga akan mengidentifikasi peluang bagi industri Australia untuk mengatasi kendala di basis industri AS.

AS dan Australia juga menegaskan kembali komitmen untuk memajukan pemeliharaan, perbaikan, perombakan, dan peningkatan amunisi prioritas di Australia dengan fokus awal pada torpedo kelas berat MK-48 dan peluru kendali Standard Missile-2 (SM-2).

GWEO Enterprise Australia dimaksudkan sebagai inisiatif jangka panjang untuk mengembangkan kemampuan lokal untuk melakukan penelitian, pengembangan, pengujian, manufaktur, distribusi, dan pemeliharaan peluru kendali.

Pengiriman Batch Kedua Torpedo Blue Shark untuk Filipina Tertunda

Korea Selatan siap mengirimkan torpedo Cheong Sangeo (K745/Blue Shark) batch kedua ke Angkatan Laut Filipina (PN). Namun, Janes memahami bahwa Filipina telah menunda pengadaan tersebut.

Kesepakatan itu pertama kali diumumkan pada Agustus 2021. Saat itu, Departemen Pertahanan Nasional Filipina (DND) mengatakan bahwa kesepakatan itu dilaporkan menelan biaya sekitar PHP722,3 juta (USD12,9 juta).

Seorang sumber yang mengetahui proses tersebut mengatakan kepada Janes bahwa dokumentasi untuk penjualan gelombang kedua telah disiapkan pada Desember 2022. “Namun, enam bulan kemudian, belum ada pergerakan pengadaan,” tambah sumber tersebut.

Sumber tersebut berbicara pada Pameran Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace (LIMA) 2023 yang digelar di Malaysia pada 23-27 Mei lalu.

Janes memahami bahwa batch kedua torpedo adalah untuk melengkapi helikopter Leonardo AW159 yang dioperasilan PN dan pada dua frigat ringan general purpose PN kelas Jose Rizal buatan Korea Selatan. Torpedo diperoleh melalui negosiasi Langsung dengan LIG Nex1 di bawah proses akuisisi Government-to-Government (G2G).

Menurut data Janes, Blue Shark adalah torpedo anti-kapal selam yang diluncurkan dari kapal dan udara. Dikembangkan oleh Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) Korea Selatan untuk Angkatan Laut Republik Korea (RoK), torpedo ringan tersedia untuk ekspor. Kontraktor utama untuk torpedo tersebut adalah perusahaan Korea Selatan LiG Nex 1.

Tidak jelas berapa banyak torpedo yang akan dijual ke Manila pada gelombang kedua ini. LiG Nex 1 menolak berkomentar kepada Janes tentang detail spesifik dari pesanan tersebut, dengan alasan kerahasiaan.

Penandatanganan dan Penyerahan Sertifikat Kelaikan Laut Pertahanan Workshop Torpedo Blackshark PT Tiga Muara Jaya

Jakarta -- Marsma TNI Mohammad Yani Rudiansyah, S.T., S.I.P. selaku Kapuslaik Kemhan Melaksanakan Penandatanganan dan Penyerahan Sertifikat Kelaikan Laut Pertahanan Workshop Torpedo Blackshark kepada Bapak Ir. Thomas Harianto Sugianto selaku Direktur Utama PT. Tiga Muara Jaya. Kegiatan tersebut dilaksanakan pada hari Senin tanggal 17 April 2023 pukul 10.00 WIB bertempat di Ruang Kerja Kapuslaik Kemhan yang berada di Lantai 10 Gedung Jenderal A.H. Nasution kantor Kementerian Pertahanan RI Jl. Medan Merdeka Barat No. 13 – 14 Jakarta Pusat.

Pada kegiatan penandatanganan dan penyerahan Sertifikat Kelaikan Laut Pertahanan tersebut, Kapuslaik Kemhan didampingi oleh Kasubbidlaik Rancang Bangun Puslaik Kemhan Letkol Laut (T) Deni Susanto, S.E. mewakili Ketua IDSA (Indonesian Defence Seaworthiness Authority). Naval Group is Performing its First Contract in the Philippines to Provide Anti-torpedo Defence System Based on CANTO® Countermeasures

On Monday 17th October, the representatives of the Department of National Defence for the Philippine Navy and Naval Group have conducted the Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) of CONTRALTO® reaction module in France. This milestone enables the installation of CONTRALTO® into the C-Guard decoy launching system of the two frigates.

On 1st December 2021, Naval Group was notified of its first contract in the Philippines by the Department of National Defence for the Philippine Navy. Naval Group will provide anti-torpedo defence system based on CANTO®/CONTRALTO® countermeasures solution to equip the two Jose Rizal-class frigates.

CANTO® is the latest countermeasure generation in the defence industry. This breakthrough in the field of anti-torpedo defence applies a unique concept to defend the frigate. It is based on the dilution/confusion concept to defend high value and mission essential units by generating a highlevel acoustic signal over 360-degree, covering the full frequency range of the attacking torpedo.

This anti-torpedo system is fitted with its associated reaction module Contralto®, which computes the most appropriate evasive manoeuvre and deployment sequence once a threat is detected.

CANTO® and CONTRALTO® are worldwide references already in service in the French Navy and in many foreign navies.

Filipina Akan Menambah Jumlah Torpedo K745 Blue Shark untuk BRP Conrado Yap

MaxDefense menerima konfirmasi bahwa Angkatan Laut Filipina akan mendapatkan sejumlah tambahan torpedo K745 Blue Shark dari LIGNex1 Korea Selatan, dan rudal Spike-ER dari Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Israel.

Torpedo K745 akan memungkinkan korvet kelas Pohang BRP Conrado Yap (PS-39) untuk dilengkapi dengan munisi, sementara rudal Spike-ER tambahan akan menggantikan rudal yang telah ditembakkan dan sedikit meningkatkan stok rudal dalam inventaris PN.

Kedua pengadaan tersebut akan menjadi kesepakatan Government-to-Government (G2G) antara DND dan MND Korea Selatan dan MOD Israel, masing-masing.

Angkatan Laut Filipina diharapkan akan mencoba untuk mendapatkan lebih banyak dana untuk pengadaan lebih banyak torpedo K745 Blue Shark untuk mempersenjatai korvet kelas Pohang ke-2, bekas ROKS Andong (PC-771) yang diharapkan segera akan dikirim ke Filipina.

At the moment, the Navy operates a mix of Western (324mm) and Soviet/Russian (406mm and 533mm) torpedoes.

Before the second pair of Gepards, Petyas are the main ASW platforms of VPN with 10 torpedo tubes and 2 RBU-6000 anti-submarine rocket launchers. Petyas also have 2 AK-726 twin 76mm turrets.

While the Navy favors missiles for anti-ship duty, it still maintains a fleet of torpedo boats in the 1st Zone where the geography provides excellent covers.

KRI REM 331 dan KRI DPN 365 TNI AL Melaksanakan Latihan Penembakan Torpedo A244S Kepala Latihan dan Peluncuran Tracking SCRAB II

KRI Raden Eddy Martadinata (KRI REM)-331 dan KRI Diponegoro (KRI DPN)-365 merupakan 2 Alutsista TNI AL dari jajaran Satkor Koarmada II  melaksanakan   penembakan Torpedo A244S kepala latihan dengan sasaran CTS106D di perairan utara Situbondo Jawa Timur, Kamis, (7/7/2022).

Setelah penembakan Torpedo A244S kepala latihan dengan sasaran CTS106D oleh 2 KRI tersebut selanjutnya  KRI REM-331 melaksanakan tracking SCRAB II TDX-217 dan tracking SCRAB II TDX-218 di perairan utara Pasuruan Jawa Timur. Latihan ini juga dalam rangka mendukung uji fungsi Alutsista yang dimiliki Puspenerbal.

Selain melibatkan KRI REM-331 dan KRI DPN-365, latihan ini juga melibatkan KRI Pulau Rupat-712, KRI Tombak-629, Helikopter Panther 1303 dari Puspenerbal sebagai unsur pengamanan.

Latihan ini ditinjau langsung Asops Kasal Laksda TNI Dadi Hartanto, Danguspurla Koarmada II Laksma TNI Deny Prasetyo onboard di KRI REM-331, sedangkan pejabat lainya Kadisopslatal  Laksma TNI Eko Wahjono, dan Kadissenlekal Laksma TNI Teguh Prasetyo onboard di KRI DPN-365.

Kegiatan latihan penembakan ini selaras dengan program prioritas Kasal Laksamana TNI Yudo Margono yakni terkait pembinaan SDM TNI AL yang unggul dan meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan Sistem Senjata Armada Terpadu yang memiliki daya gerak dan daya gempur yang tinggi.

Kehandalan Sensor dan Senjata Teruji, KRI Frans Kaisiepo-368 Hancurkan Kapal Selam Musuh

TNI AL Koarmada II. Surabaya -- Kekuatan Sistem Senjata Armada Terpadu TNI Angkatan Laut dirancang untuk dapat melaksanakan tugas-tugas secara simultan dalam konsep operasi gabungan yang diimplementasikan pada skema peperangan laut termasuk peperangan Anti Kapal Selam (AKS). Lingkungan bawah air sebagai domain peperangan AKS merupakan lingkungan yang menantang dalam upaya membentuk gambaran taktis dan menghancurkan kapal selam musuh.

KRI Frans Kaisiepo-368 dengan tenang dan pasti berhasil mendeteksi kontak bawah air yang dicurigai sebagai kontak kapal selam. Juru Sonar melaksanakan identifikasi dan klasifikasi menggunakan FM Analysis serta chart check untuk memastikan kontak bawah air tersebut adalah kapal selam musuh. 

Berdasarkan hasil analisis juru sonar dan chart check negatif, maka Pos Komando Peperangan Anti Kapal (PK PAK) menetapkan bahwa kontak tersebut adalah kapal selam musuh dengan klasifikasi Possible Submarine Low 2. Dengan sigap, Komandan KRI Frans Kaisiepo-368 memerintahkan PK PAK untuk melaksanakan deliberate attack dengan menembakkan Torpedo A 244 S Mod 3.

Situasi tersebut merupakan bagian dari skenario Uji Fungsi penembakan senjata AKS KRI Frans Kaisiepo-368 selesai melaksanakan pemantapan kondisi teknis Peluncur Torpedo B-515, Shipborne Presetter 115C (SPS 115C), dan Torpedo Simulator 102C (TRS 102C). Hal ini bertujuan agar KRI Frans Kaisiepo-368 berada dalam kondisi siap tempur saat melaksanakan tugas operasi. Salah satu bentuk kegiatan dalam uji fungsi tersebut adalah penembakan dummy Torpedo A 244 S Mod 3.

Dalam kesempatan tersebut, Komandan KRI Frans Kaisiepo-368, Letkol Laut (P) John David Nalasakti Sondakh menyampaikan bahwa kegiatan uji fungsi sistem penembakan torpedo berjalan dengan baik dan seluruh sistem berfungsi normal.

 

“Dummy torpedo A 244 S Mod 3 berhasil meluncur dan TRS 102C berhasil membaca seluruh parameter yang dimasukkan melalui SPS 115C dengan tepat. Recovery dummy torpedo oleh tim dari Dislambair juga berjalan dengan baik”, tegas Letkol John.

Di tempat terpisah Komandan Satuan kapal Eskorta (Satkor) Koaramda II, Kolonel Laut (P) Andri Kristianto juga menyampaikan bahawa kegiatan ini adalah wujud dari pelaksanaan arahan Pangkoarmada II Laksda TNI Iwan Isnurwanto , yang selaras dengan program prioritas Kasal Laksamana TNI Yudo Margono yakni terkait pembinaan SDM TNI AL yang unggul. ”Pungkasnya.
