JAKARTA (Pos Kota) – Kepala Staf Angkatan Laut Laksamana TNI Soeparno, S.E. onboard di landing craft unit (LCU) dengan mesin pendorong water jet yang dibuat dengan peruntukan kapal perang jenis landing platform dock (LPD) yang diujicobakan di Kolinlamil, Jumat (21/10).
Pada kegiatan uji coba tersebut, turut onboard di dalam LCU Asrena Kasal Laksda TNI Sumartono, Aspam Kasal Laksda TNI Ir. Putu Yuli Adnyana, Asops Kasal Laksda TNI Hari Bowo, M.Sc., Pangarmatim Laksda TNI Ade Supandi, S.E., Pangkolinlamil Laksda TNI Agung Pramono, S.H., M.Hum., Dankormar Mayjen TNI (Mar) Alfan Baharudin, Kadismatal, Kadisadal, Kadislaikmatal, Kasarmabar, Kaskolinlamil serta Danlantamal III.

LCU yang diujicobakan merupakan prototype LCU produksi dalam negeri yang akan dipesan oleh TNI AL dan direncanakan akan ditempatkan di empat kapal perang jenis LPD milik TNI AL dengan berbagai kelebihan diantaranya menggunakan mesin pendorong water jet sehingga mampu bermanuver di area yang relatif sempit, dapat dioperasikan di perairan dangkal, daya angkut 100 pesonel atau 26 ton, kecepatan kosong 40 knots per mil laut/Nautical Mil, sedangkan kecepatan maksimum 28 knots, tidak bising, minim getaran, terbuat dari aluminium,

Kegiatan tersebut dimaksudkan untuk melihat kemampuan yang dimiliki LCU propullsion water jet dan untuk menampung berbagai masukan guna penyempurnaan LCU yang akan dibuat untuk kapal LPD TNI AL sehingga dapat dioptimalkan penggunaannya dalam pelaksanaan operasi sesuai kebutuhan TNI AL selaku pengguna.

Boeing Completes Delivery of RAAF Super Hornets Ahead of Schedule

AMBERLEY, Queensland, -- Four new Boeing [NYSE: BA] F/A-18F Super Hornets joined the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Super Hornet fleet at RAAF Base Amberley today, completing delivery of all 24 RAAF Super Hornets ahead of contract schedule.

The arrival at the base was marked by the four new Super Hornets joining 16 other RAAF F/A-18Fs for a dramatic 20-aircraft flyover.

"The Super Hornet provides a major advancement in capability for the RAAF and the entire Australian Defence Force," said RAAF Group Capt. Steve Roberton, Officer Commanding 82 Wing. "The F/A-18F employs the world’s most advanced combat radar, ensuring our forces have a clear advantage in both technology and capability, whether conducting air, ground or maritime operations.

"The Super Hornet's ability to collect and seamlessly distribute information to our other platforms is proving to be invaluable as a true force multiplier," Roberton added.

"Boeing made a commitment to the Royal Australian Air Force, and to the citizens and government of Australia, promising that these advanced Super Hornets would be ready to join the RAAF fleet on time and on budget," said Dennis Muilenburg, president and CEO of Boeing Defense, Space & Security.

"The men and women of Boeing are incredibly proud to have delivered on that promise."

The Australian government announced plans in March 2007 to acquire 24 advanced Block II versions of the F model Super Hornet, which features a two-person cockpit. The first five RAAF Super Hornets arrived at Amberley on March 26, 2010. Today's ceremony marks the fifth and final contracted RAAF Super Hornet delivery.

The Boeing Super Hornet is a multirole aircraft, able to perform virtually every mission in the tactical spectrum, including air superiority, day/night strike with precision-guided weapons, fighter escort, close air support, suppression of enemy air defenses, maritime strike, reconnaissance, forward air control and tanker missions. Boeing has delivered more than 470 F/A-18E/Fs to the U.S. Navy. Every Super Hornet produced has been delivered on or ahead of schedule and on budget.

Super Hornet Squadrons now complete

Minister for Defence Materiel Jason Clare welcomed the arrival of four more Super Hornets at an official ceremony held at RAAF Base Amberley today, completing two squadrons for the Royal Australian Air Force.

The four new fighter jets will join 20 others, which will be operated by No. 1 Squadron and No. 6 Squadron of the RAAF.

Mr Clare was on-hand to welcome the four new Super Hornets to their base at RAAF Amberley.

The occasion was marked by a flight of 21 Super Hornets over northern NSW and south-east Queensland, with one of the planes flown by Chief of Air Force Air Marshal Geoff Brown.

The 24 Super Hornets have been delivered over the past two years – on budget and ahead of schedule.

The purchase of the Super Hornets will ensure Australia’s regional air combat capability until the arrival of the Joint Strike Fighter later this decade.

The Super Hornet gives the Royal Australian Air Force the capability to conduct air-to-air combat, strike targets on land and at sea, suppress enemy air defences and conduct reconnaissance.

It is an operationally proven aircraft that has been flown by the United States Navy since 2001.

The United States Navy has operated Super Hornets in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya.

Australia is the first country outside the United States to fly the Super Hornet.
Mr Clare said that this was an important day for the RAAF.

“The Super Hornets are the new front line of Australia’s Defence Force,” Mr Clare said.

“They are amongst the best fighter planes in the world – and all 24 aircraft have been delivered on budget and ahead of schedule.

“I congratulate the aircraft’s manufacturer Boeing, the Air Force and Defence for the work they have done.”

Member for Blair Shayne Neumann said that the local community also welcomed the Super Hornets.

“RAAF Amberley is a very important part of our community and we’re very proud to be the home of the Super Hornet,” Mr Neumann said.

Malaysia May Decide on Super Hornets Within Next Two Years

BRISBANE, (Bernama) - Malaysia may decide on the multi-role strike fighter, Boeing's F/A-18E/F Super Hornet within the next two years, vice president F/A18 & EA-18 Programs Boeing Military Aircraft, Michael K.Gibbons said.

"Absolutely, we still have our offering to Malaysia," he said when asked if Boeing was still pursuing the deal with Malaysia for the Super Hornets, which have the capability, flexibility and performance necessary to modernise the air or naval aviation forces of any country.

The Super Hornet's suite of integrated and networked systems provides enhanced interoperability and support for ground forces as well as the overall force commander.

Although Malaysia would make its own selection on the timeline, "we suspect they probably would make a decision within the next two years," he said.

Boeing, the U.S aircraft manufacturer, has been negotiating since 2002 on the Super Hornet deal with the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF), which currently operates eight earlier generation two-seater F/A-18Ds.

However, it is common for countries to take time to make a decision and therefore it is perfectly fine for Malaysia to take its time, he told Bernama during a media briefing on the delivery of last four of 24 F/A-18F Super Hornets to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base at Amberley here.

"It is a decision (that involves) a lot of money (and) to create defence structure that you are looking for, and defence is a serious decision, obviously countries want to make sure they get it right (as to) what they are looking for," Gibbons said.

Gibbons declined to reveal whether Boeing had proposed the single-seater Super Hornet E model or the two-seater F model to RMAF, but noted that 18 units was what had been communicated so far.

Both models are true multi-role aircraft, able to perform virtually every mission in the tactical spectrum, including air superiority, day/night strike with precision-guided weapons, fighter escort, close air support, suppression of enemy air defenses, maritime strike, reconnaissance, forward air control and tanker missions.

The F/A-18E/F has exceptional combat maneuverability, unlimited angle of attack, high resistance to spins and departures, and ease of handling and training. Its reconfigurable digital flight control system can detect damage to or full loss of a flight control and still allow safe recovery.

These and other enhancements ensure the Super Hornet remains combat relevant through the coming decades.

With a total of 11 weapons stations, the Super Hornet gives war-fighters extraordinary payload flexibility by carrying a mixed load of air-to-air and air-to-ground ordnance.

"Malaysia has all the information that it needs on the Super Hornet, including the International Super Hornet roadmap (programme)," he said.

Labelled as the next evolution of the Super Hornet to be ready by 2015, it would come with the next generation cockpit, internal infrared search & track, enclosed weapon pod, adding missile warning system and conformal fuel tank.

"We are working with General Electric on enhancing the performance of engines, speed acceleration and range durability," he said.

Rheinmetall Nordic AS Wins Major Order in Malaysia

Vingtaqs II observation system to be mounted on new all-terrain vehicles.

Rheinmetall Nordic AS of Nøtterøy, Norway, a member of the Rheinmetall Group of companies, has been awarded a contract to supply the Malaysian armed forces with the Vingtaqs II long-range surveillance, observation and reconnaissance system. Rheinmetall Nordic AS is the successor company of Simrad Optronics AS, which Rheinmetall took over in summer 2010.

With a total volume of around €36 million, this is the largest single order ever booked by Rheinmetall Nordic AS or its predecessor Simrad Optronics AS.

The customer is DRB-Hicom Defence Technologies Sdn Bhd (Deftech) of Malaysia. The order also encompasses training, system integration and documentation.

The Vingtaqs II systems will be integrated into newly built AV8 all-terrain vehicles made by the Turkish company FNSS Savunma Sistemleri A.S., which are to be delivered during the period 2014 to 2018.

“This contract demonstrates the terrific market potential of our new Vingtaqs systems. What’s more, because of our strong goal orientation and clear priorities, we were able to win this contract in less than two years”, declares Jon Asbjørn Bø, CEO of Rheinmetall Nordic AS, adding that “the order serves as a valuable reference for future sales”.

Vingtaqs II long range – surveillance, observation and reconnaissance systemThe Vingtaqs II accurately determines target coordinates at long distances from the vehicle forward observer position. A standalone system, the Vingtaqs II can be integrated at low cost into a wide variety of vehicles. The system also accommodates instrumentation for laser-designated targeting, enabling it to support forward air controller operations. Moreover, thanks to a high degree of modularity, it can be readily configured to meet individual customer requirements.

Russian Missile Defense Allocation for Viet Nam

Reports say Russia has delivered second Bastion coast missile defense system to Vietnam under the investment contract signed in 2005.

Russia's Interfax news agency said a military source 18/10 Tuesday that the transfer of active defense system equipped with supersonic anti-ship missiles were made Yakhont last week.

Two Russia’s giant arms exporter Rosoboronexport and Mashinostroyeniya NPO that Russia have signed contracts with Vietnam in 2005, including two Bastion coastal defense system.

First Bastion system which Vietnam's purchase of Russia has been shipped from mid-year.

Recently, Russian media also announced Vietnam is negotiating with the Russian government to sign more contracts to purchase additional Bastion systems, the number is not published.

With modern equipment, defense of Vietnam's coast will be enhanced significantly, especially in the context of developments on the coast are many complex.

Prestigious defense journal Jane's Defence said negotiations of the contract will be made by state credit of Russia, and can hang will be provided around the year 2013-2014.

Increases defense

Bao said the Russian Bastion system was achievements of the industrial production of Russia's missiles, capable of destroying various types of amphibious warship from transport and support ship, destroyer warships and aircraft carrier, as well as kill targets in a single vessel fleet to 300 km distance.

The system consists of four vehicles carrying reporters Bastion self K-340P (two tubes each vehicle carrying ammunition missiles TPS); 2 K380P MBU control car (25-ton truck on the chassis MZKT-65273) can be prepared to war within 3 to 4 minutes; 4 rounds K-342P truck TZM (on chassis MZKT-7930) equipped with cranes used to load 5.9 ton K-loader vehicles and equipment 340P technical support and other combat training.

Also mentioned basic configuration, customers can choose the configuration with the number of vehicles, car and truck drivers shot on demand.
Supersonic cruise missiles, K310 Yakhont flying over the sea using a static jet engines.

Missiles Bastion-P has two mode: low-flying cruise with a range of about 120km, and low-flying cruise mixed with a range of about 300km.

BANDUNG (bisnis-jabar.com): PT Dirgantara Indonesia menyerahkan set yang ke-2.000 untuk komponen Airbus A320/A321.

Direktur Aerostructure PTDI Andi Alisjahbana mengatakan penyerahan komponen tersebut akan meningkatkan kepercayaan mitra kerja Airbus kepada PTDI.

“Di sisi lain, juga semakin meningkatkan kemampuan karyawan PTDI karena selama enam tahun telah memberikan sumbangsih yang baik kepada PTDI,” katanya melalui rilis yang diterima bisnis-jabar.com hari ini.

Sejak 2005, melalui program Paragon, PTDI telah membuat sebagian komponen dari sayap Airbus A320/A321.

Bagian sayap yang dibuat PTDI adalah pylon assy port/STBD, assy fixed l/edge INBD (D Nose) dan L/E skin assy. Kontrak pembuatan sebagian komponen sayap Airbus A320/A321 ini akan berakhir pada 2015 mendatang. (fsi)

Dandim 0903/TSR Dampingi Tim Mabesad Tinjau Rencana Pembangunan Batalyon Kavaleri di Tanjung Selor

Tanjung Selor - Komandan Kodim 0903/Tanjung Selor Letnan Kolonel Inf Gema Repelita mendampingi Tim dari Markas Besar Angkatan Darat (Mabesad) meninjau rencana pembangunan Batalyon Kaveleri TNI AD di Desa Gunung Sari, Kecamatan Tanjung Selor, Kabupaten Bulungan, Kaltim. Kegiatan peninjauan tersebut berlangsung selama dua hari dari tanggal 17 hingga 18 Oktober 2011.

Tim dari Mabesad yang melaksanakan kunjungan adalah Kolonel Inf Suyatno Paban III/Binorg Sopsad, Letkol Czi Haryono Pabandya 2/Pangkalan Slogad, Mayor Kav Susanto Kabag Binmat Sdirlitbang Pussenkav dan Mayor Arm I Gusti Agung Putu S Pabanda Binorg Spaban III Sopsad.

Selain Dandim 0903/Tsr turut mendampingi Tim dari Mabesad tersebut Kasbrigif 24/BC Letkol Inf ST Agus Santoso. Direncanakan Yonkav Kodam VI/Mlw mulai dibangun tahun 2012 berdampingan dengan Mabrigif 24/BC dan direncanakan menggunakan ranpur tank Leopard 2 type Main Battle tank buatan Jerman dengan spesifikasi berat 62,3 ton, panjang 9,97 meter dan lebar 3,75 meter.
