Jakarta, DMC - Menteri Pertahanan Ryamizard Ryacudu menerima Regional Director South East Asia Boeing Young Tae Pak, Selasa (25/8) di kantor Kementerian Pertahanan, Jakarta. Pertemuan ini membahas mengenai kelanjutan rencana pengadaan Helikopter Chinook.
Dalam kesempatan tersebut, Regional Director South East Asia Boeing menyampaikan bahwa dalam pengadaan Helikopter Chinook nantinya, pihak Boeing siap memberikan dan memenuhi persyaratan skema offset yang diinginkan Indonesia.
Guna membicarakan lebih detail bagaimana mekanisme skema offset tersebut, maka saat ini pihak Boeing telah mengirimkan tim ke PT. DI di Bandung. Regional Director South East Asia Boeing juga menyampaikan siap membantu sepenuhnya untuk kelancaran proses pengadaan ini dan akan memberikan harga yang terbaik untuk Indonesia.
Sebagaimana diketahui, bahwa Kemhan berencana membeli empat Helikopter Chinook untuk memperkuat Alutsista di jajaran TNI AD. Pembelian ini disesuaikan dengan ancaman nyata yang dihadapi Indonesia, terutama masalah penanganan bencana alam.
Helikopter Chinook merupakan salah satu jenis helikopter yang memiliki keunggulan multifungsi. Selain dapat mengangkut personil militer dalam jumlah banyak, helikopter ini juga mampu mengangkut logistik dalam jumlah banyak.
Selain itu, helikopter ini didesain untuk bisa mengangkut (sling) pesawat tempur, kapal tempur, kendaraan tempur (Ranpur), hingga tank tempur kelas ringan. Tidak hanya itu, dengan kemampuan daya angkut yang besar, helikopter ini banyak diturunkan untuk mendukung kebutuhan nasional, seperti evakuasi bencana alam dan kegiatan Search and Rescue.

YOGYAKARTA - Menteri Pertahanan (Menhan) Ryamizard Ryacudu berencana membentuk satu skuadron khusus Jupiter Aerobatic Team (JAT) TNI Angkatan Udara (AU). Maka itu, Kementerian Pertahanan (Kemenhan) berencana membeli 12 unit pesawat jenis KT-1B Wong Bee.
Penambahan pesawat tersebut sangat dimungkinkan mengingat anggaran untuk pengadaan sudah tersedia. Apalagi, harga pesawat jenis itu tidak terlalu mahal.
"Itu pesawat yang jatuh di Malaysia beberapa waktu lalu perlu ditambah. Ada penambahan 12 pesawat. Yang Merah Putih yang suka demo-demo itu. Iya, Jupiter. Jadi satu tim untuk akrobat itu sendiri," ujar Ryamizard usai melakukan kunjungan sekaligus melihat secara langsung perawatan dan pemeriksaan pesawat milik TNI AU di Lanud Adi Soetjipto, Yogyakarta, Jawa Tengah, Rabu (26/8/2015).
Dia mengatakan, selain menambah pesawat, pihaknya akan membangun sekolah penerbang sendiri, sehingga tidak lagi bersama-sama dengan Jupiter Aerobatic Team seperti yang selama ini berjalan. "Tim akrobat itu sendiri, untuk sekolah penerbangan bentuk tim sendiri. Jadi tidak sama-sama," ucapnya.
Mantan Kepala Staf Angkatan Darat (KSAD) ini menyampaikan, secara umum perawatan pesawat sangat baik. Namun diakuinya, perlu ada perbaikan dan penggantian sejumlah spare part pesawat, karena kondisinya membahayakan.
"Secara umum baik ya, tapi ada yang perlu diganti misalnya, kanopi (pesawat) itu karena sudah retak-retak jadi kalau matahari dari belakang itu enggak kelihatan. Tapi gantinya bukan di tempat pembuatnya tapi di tempat lain," jelasnya.

Aug 25 France's defence minister will discuss the sale to Malaysia of one of the Mistral helicopter carriers originally destined for Russia during a visit to the country, a source familiar with the talks said, confirming a report on news website latribune.fr.
On his return from Malaysia, Jean-Yves Le Drian will also make a detour to India to sign a deal for 36 Rafale fighter jets built by French group Dassault Aviation, latribune.fr added.
A source with knowledge of the talks told Reuters on Friday that India's Rafale purchase could be concluded in about 10 days.
Dassault in February won its first export order for the jets from Egypt. Since then, Qatar has also placed an order, and talks are under way with Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates.
India is also interested in the Mistral, latribune.fr said.
French President Francois Hollande confirmed on Tuesday that there were several potential buyers for the two Mistral. France cancelled the planned sale of the warships to Russia because of the Ukraine crisis.
No one was immediately reachable for comment at the French defence ministry, Dassault Aviation or Mistral manufacturer DCNS, in which Thales holds 35 percent.

The Royal Thai Air Force (Kongtap Agard Thai - RTAF) has received into service four Airbus Helicopters EC725 utility helicopters it ordered in 2012, the company announced on 25 August.
The medium-lift helicopters will be used for search-and-rescue and troop transport duties from September. The helicopters will be fielded by the 203 Helicopter Squadron based at Lop Buri in central Thailand.
Once operational, these helicopters will enable the RTAF to begin the retirement process for the 18 Bell UH-1H 'Huey' helicopters that have been in service since 1968.
With delivery of the first batch of four EC725 helicopters now complete, the RTAF will receive next year a further two that were ordered in 2014.
While Airbus Helicopters has now redesignated the EC725 as the H225M as part of a portfolio-wide renaming process, those helicopters that have been delivered to the RTAF retain their former identifier as they were contracted before the new naming process was introduced.
The RTAF's current rotary-winged fleet now comprises four H225Ms; 18 UH-1Hs; two Bell 412s; two 412SPs; one 412HP; seven 412EPs; and three Sikorsky S-92 Super Hawks.
The Royal Thai Army has seven Bell AH-1F Cobra; six Boeing CH-47D Chinook; three Mil Mi-17V5 'Hip'; four Sikorsky MH-60S Knighthawk; 60 UH-1H; 48 Agusta-Bell 212; 10 Bell 206B; and 40 Sikorsky TH-300C helicopters in its inventory.
The Royal Thai Navy fields two Sikorsky MH-60S Knighthawks; three UH-1Hs; four 214STs; two AgustaWestland Super Lynxes; six Sikorsky S-70B Seahawks; four AB212s; and four Sikorsky S-76Bs.

THE Philippine Navy (PN), through the Naval Forces Western Mindanao (NFWM), and the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) are holding a five-day Maritime Training Activity (MTA) in Mindanao.
The activity dubbed as the "MTA MALPHI-LAUT 18/15," which reeled off Monday and ends on August 28, involves the conduct of various exercises ashore and afloat in Zamboanga City and in the Moro Gulf.
Rear Admiral Primitivo Gopo, NFWM commander, said the primary objective of MTA is to enhance interoperability between the PN and RMN forces and develop better understanding and cooperation between the two navies.
Gopo said the MTA consists of three phases with main focus on maritime security and transnational crime. It involves the participation of 157 PN sailors and 136 RMN sailors.
The first phase or the harbor phase is from August 24 to 25 that comprises the arrival of the RMN ships at the NFWM headquarters, courtesy calls, communications protocol discussion, opening ceremony, subject matter expert exchange lectures, special operations activities, naval aviation training and operations planning activities.
The second phase or the at sea serials is from August 26 to 27 involves combined ship maneuvers to address various contingencies at sea.
The third phase is from August 27 to 28 and involves the MALPHI sports cup activity, closing ceremony, the Great Sta. Cruz Island tour, and departure of RMN ships.
The MTA MALPHI-LAUT is an annual bilateral training activity between the PN and RMN ships, aircraft, and special operations units whereby the two navies alternately host the conduct of the activity.
This year's MTA, which is hosted by the PN, will be the 18th training activity to be conducted since the signing of the Defense Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding between the Philippines and Malaysia in 1994.
The PN and the RMN annually conduct MTA MALPHI-LAUT to strengthen the relationship and enhance mutual cooperation between the two navies through the development of combined operational doctrines, practices and naval tactics.

MANILA, Philippines – Philippine Air Force (PAF) official said “power” attack helicopters will be delivered and completed before the end of this year.
“We expect six more attack helicopters that will come before the year ends,” PAF commander Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Delgado said in a state news.
The PAF said it formally commissioned its first two attack AugustaWestland AW-109E “Power” attack helicopters last August 17 but all six units will be delivered within the year.
Delgado is confident that the remaining aircraft will be mission-capable before the last quarter of 2015.
In 2013, the Philippine government signed an eight-unit AW-109E order with Augusta Westland worth P3.44 billion.
The AW-109E was procured since it has established itself as the world’s best selling light-twin helicopter for maritime missions.
With the helicopter’s speed, capacity and productivity combine with reliability and ease of maintenance, it has become the most cost effective maritime helicopter in its class.
This aircraft is a three-ton class, eight-seat helicopter powered by two Pratt and Whitney PW206C engines with safety features such as fully separated fuel system, dual hydraulic boost system, dual electrical systems and redundant lubrication and cooling systems for the main transmission and engines.
Aside from its maritime mission-capability, the aircraft has reinforced-wheeled landing gear and deck mooring points and extensive corrosion measures for shipboard operations.
The United States government is also supporting the Philippine military modernization through its military funding. US said there will be two more C-130s to be delivered in the first quarter 2016 that will be used to aid the Philippines army in its missions.

JAKARTA-- Sebanyak 10 helikopter Anti Kapal Selam (AKS) yang dipesan Kementerian Pertahanan guna memperkuat alat utama sistem persenjataan (alutsista) TNI Angkatan Laut (AL) tengah diproduksi. Helikopter AKS itu pun diharapkan sudah bisa hadir di Tanah Air pada 2016.
"Saat ini sudah diproduksi. Tahun depan diharapkan sudah bisa datang, tapi secara bertahap," ujar Sekretaris Jenderal (Sekjen) Kementerian Pertahanan, Letnan Jenderal TNI Ediwan Prabowo, Ahad (23/8).
Sebelumnya, TNI AL memang telah mengajukan pemesanan pengadaan helikopter AKS. Mabes TNI pun sudah mengajukan helikopter AKS tersebut, yaitu helikopter jenis AS565 Sea Panther. Rencananya, pembuatan helikopter AKS ini akan dilakukan di Prancis oleh Airbuss Helicopter (dulu dikenal dengan Eurocopter) dan bekerja sama dengan PT Dirgantara Indonesia.
Pengadaan helikopter AKS ini menjadi satu dengan rencana pembentukan kembali Skuadron 100, yang sempat menjadi skuadron andalan TNI AL dalam mendeteksi keberadaan kapal selam pada era 1960-an. Kehadiran Skuadron 100 juga diharapkan bisa meningkatkan kembali kemampuan TNI AL, terutama dalam mendeteksi kehadiran kapal selam asing di wilayah perairan Indonesia.
Kepala Dinas Penerangan TNI AL (Kadispenal), Laksamana Pertama TNI M Zainudin, sempat mengungkapkan, rencana pengadaan helikopter AKS ini memang sudah dimasukkan dalam Rencana Strategis (Renstra) TNI 2015-2019. Kehadiran kembali Skuadron 100 ini pun diharapkan bisa menimbulkan efek gentar di sekitar kawasan. "Satu skuadron saja terpenuhi, mungkin bisa menimbulkan efek gentar bagi negara-negara lain di kawasan, terutama yang kerap melanggar wilayah RI," ujar Zainudin.
Tidak hanya itu, kehadiran helikopter AKS akan terkoneksi dengan sejumlah KRI yang memiliki fungsi pertempuran. Nantinya, helikopter AKS ini akan menjadi mata dan telinga dari KRI-KRI tersebut. Terlebih helikopter AKS memiliki sonar yang bisa mendeteksi bayangan di bawah laut dengan mudah.
Terkait rencana kedatangan helikopter AKS itu, Kepala Staff Angkatan Laut (KSAL), Laksamana TNI Ade Supandi, sempat mengungkapkan, semua itu tergantung dari kemampuan manufaktur produsen pembuat helikopter tersebut. "Tergantung kemampuan dari manufaktur. Normalnya dia ya mungkin setahun bisa tiga atau dua unit. Helikopter AKS itu bisa dibilang sebagai perpanjangan dari kapal," kata Ade Supandi, akhir Juni.
