KRI Raden Eddy Martadinata (REM) – 331 yang di Komandani Kolonel Laut (P) Agam Endrasmoro melaksanakan Latihan Replenishment at Sea (RAS) atau pembekalan di laut, latihan tersebut dilaksanakan di perairan Teluk Pattaya Thailand, Selasa (21/11/2017).

KRI REM-331 melaksanakan latihan pembekalan di laut dengan Kapal perang Royal Thai Navy yaitu HTMS Taksin-422. Dalam latihan tersebut KRI REM hanya melaksanakan Station Keeping dengan posisi sejajar yang dilanjutkan peran parade penghormatan kapal.

Selesai melaksanakan latihan pembekalan di laut, KRI R.E.Martadinata- 331 dan Kapal perang Thailand Taksin-422 kembali sandar di pelabuhan Chuksamet Naval Base of Thailand.

Melihat Pelatihan BTR-4M Korps Marinir TNI AL

Jakarta - September lalu, Korps Marinir TNI AL (Kormar) telah mengoperasikan lima APC amfibi BTR-4M yang dipasok oleh Ukraina pada tahun 2016. Dalam pelatihan tersebut, para prajurit Marinir mengakui keandalan dan kemudahan pengoperasiannya serta multi-purpose capability yang dimiliki oleh APC buatan Ukraina.

Dalam pelatihan tersebut, prajurit Marinir didampingi oleh perwakilan dari developer BTR-4, Kharkiv Morozov Machine Building Design Bureau dan SFTE "Spetstechnoexport" sebagai pemasok. Para prajurit melakukan special training dengan bermanuver dalam gelombang tinggi untuk lebih memperkenalkan dan membiasakan mereka dalam pengoperasiannya di laut pada saat gelombang tinggi.

Sementara pada pelatihan di lapangan tembak, semua kru yang ada di kelima APC berhasil menembak seluruh target dalam jarak yang telah ditentukan. Senjata yang digunakan adalah 30 mm automatic gun ZTM-1 dan 7.62 mm machine gun PKT.

Hal ini menunjukan keandalan dan akurasi senjata buatan Ukraina tersebut, serta efisiensi dan kecanggihan digital sighting dan firing control system yang dipasang dalam BTR-4M. Para prajurit yang mengikuti pelatihan itu pun dibuat kagum.

Para pengamat berpendapat bahwa sangat penting bagi Marinir Indonesia memiliki APC 8x8 yang ringan, mampu bergerak dalam kecepatan tinggi dan dapat dengan mudah bermanuver di jalan-jalan yang sempit dan berbukit, onroad di dalam kota maupun offroad. Dalam latihan tersebut BTR-4M telah menempuh lebih dari 100 km offroad di jalan berbukit dan mengarungi puluhan kilometer kawasan lepas pantai tanpa sedikitpun mengubah konfigurasi dan keandalannya.

Banyak yang menilai BTR-4M ini mempunyai masalah hull roll pada saat berada di laut. Faktanya, setelah melewati serangkaian latihan, terbukti sebaliknya. Itu ditunjukkan ketika kendaraan tersebut bermanuver pada ketinggian ombak sampai dengan 1 meter, kendaraan tersebut tetap bergerak dengan lancar dan stabil dan sama sekali tidak terjadi hull roll. Singkatnya, bagian bodi BTR yang dipasangi dua jenis combat modules tersebut, tetap berada di atas permukaan serta pada posisi sejajar.

BTR-4M telah lulus uji oleh Kementrian Pertahanan Republik Indonesia (Kemhan RI) pada awal tahun 2017. Tim Kemhan menyatakan bahwa BTR-4M telah sesuai dengan (comply with) spesifikasi teknis yang telah ditentukan. Pernyataan tersebut tertera dalam Certificate of Final Acceptance yang dikeluarkan oleh Kemhan RI pada 3 April 2017.

Produksi dan supply kelima BTR-4M tersebut dilakukan sesuai jadwal dan ketentuan yang tertera dalam kontrak yang ditandatangani pada awal 2014 antara Kementrian Pertahanan Republik Indonesia dan SFTC "SpetsTechnoExport" (perusahaan dagang di bawah Ukroboronprom).

BTR-4M merupakan kendaraan berpenggerak 8 roda (8x8 wheel vehicle) yang digerakkan oleh mesin diesel berkapasitas 11,9 liter turbocharged 6-cylinder merek Deutz, yang dapat menghasilkan output 515 horsepower maximum 1800 rpm.

Dua BTR-4M Indonesia dilengkapi dengan uninhabited combat turret BM-7 "Parus" dengan automatic gun ZTM-1 berkaliber 30-mm, grenade launcher 30 mm dan automatic gun 7,62 mm dan anti-tank guided missile system Barrier. Sedangkan tiga kendaraan lainnya masing-masing dilengkapi dengan sebuah combat turret automatic gun 7,62 mm.

BTR-4M merupakan basic armored vehicle untuk melengkapi marinir dan pasukan reaksi cepatnya (quick-reaction forces) yang dapat beroperasi dan melakukan misi-misinya pada siang dan malam hari dalam berbagai cuaca (operating temperature range from -40 up to +55 C) di medan off-road, on hard-surface, dan lautan.

Duterte: Military Getting 23 Attack Helicopters

President Rodrigo Duterte during his visit to wounded soldiers in Army General Hospital in Headquarters Philippine Army, Taguig City on November 21 vowed to provide all the needs of military including new armaments and 23 attack helicopters.

“At no other time na ang sundalo protektado pati ibigay ko sa inyo „yung lahat nang kailangan ninyo, mga armas na kailangan,” he said.

“I am ordering new ones para pampalit doon sa inyo. Alam ko nagrereklamo kayo sa barrel pati vault. Baka in the next few months. I am in a hurry, nagmamadali ako. May papuntahin akong mga opisyal ng militar doon sa ibang lugar para mag-negotiate kaagad,” he added.

He also hinted that the military may get new type of armament. “Malaman natin ‘yan in the next – I am in a hurry. Maybe next year, mailantad ko na ‘yung ano,” he said.

“Meron tayong acquisition na 23 attack helicopters. ‘Yun supisyente na, ‘yun for a – ‘yung mga rebellion-rebellion lang,” he said.

He said that the government will be acquiring these through soft loans which may be paid in up to 25 years.

“So lahat nang bibilhin ko para sa inyo, puro bago. Wala ng purchases ang – sa panahon ko,’yung Armed Forces pati police na secondhand. Bago lahat at gagastos tayo,” he added.

Spanish shipbuilder, Navantia has laid the keel for the Royal Australian Navy’s (RAN) future Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment (AOR) vessel, HMAS Supply during a ceremony at its shipyard in Ferrol, Spain on Nov. 17.

The keel laying ceremony was attended by the Chief of the RAN, Admiral Tim Barrett and the president of Navantia, Esteban García Vilasánchez.

Supply, one of the two AOR contracted by RAN, will be delivered in two years, with full operational capability scheduled for 2022. The second vessel, HMAS Stalwart will be delivered nine months after the first one.

The Navy had earlier named of its future support ships as HMAS Supply and HMAS Stalwart as was announced by the country’s Minister for Defence, Marise Payne.

Supply will be the second vessel in the Royal Australian Navy to bear the name that has its origins with the armed tender ship that accompanied the First Fleet to Australia. Stalwart is being named after two previous Australian Navy vessels, one a destroyer that served between 1920 and 1925 and the second destroyer tender served from 1968 to 1990.

The ships will be known as Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment (AOR) vessels and will replace the current RAN replenisment ships, HMAS Success and HMAS Sirius. 

The two AOR vessels were ordered in May 9 last year as part of RAN’s Project SEA1654. They will be based on Spanish Navy replenishment oiler, Cantabria (A15).

SPS Cantabria (A15)

Cantabria (A15) is a Spanish Navy replenishment oiler commissioned in 2010.

Cantabria has a displacement of 19,500 tons, is 170.4 metres (559 ft) in length, has a beam of 23 metres (75 ft), and a draught of 8 metres (26 ft).

Propulsion is provided by two diesel engines, supplying 10,890 kW (14,600 hp) to a single propeller shaft, which is fitted with a controllable-pitch propeller. Cantabria has a maximum sustained speed of 20 knots, and a range of 6,000 nautical miles (11,000 km).

The ship’s capacity includes 8,920 cubic metres (315,000 cu ft) of ship fuel, 1,585 cubic metres (56,000 cu ft) of JP-5 jet fuel, 215 cubic metres (7,600 cu ft) of fresh water, 280 tons of ammunition, and 470 tons of general cargo. The fuel storage areas are double-hulled. Cantabria can replenish three ships simultaneously; one on each side, plus a third via a stern refueling station.

She can carry three Agusta-Bell AB.212, two Sikorsky SH-3 Sea King, or two NHI NH90 helicopters to perform vertical replenishment. The ship’s crew complement is 122.

Philippine Navy to have Missile System by Christmas

If everything goes as planned, the Philippine Navy (PN) will be mounting its first-ever missile system on three brand-new multi-purpose attack craft (MPAC) this Christmas season. This was confirmed Monday by PN flag-officer-in-command, Vice Admiral Ronald Joseph Mercado, when asked on the delivery and mounting of the Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd’s Spike ER (extended range) missile systems on its three MPACs.

The weapons are on anti-ship mode or can engage surface vessel targets. It is capable of penetrating 1,000 mm (39 inches) of rolled homogeneous armor and has a maximum range of five miles.

“A pre-delivery inspection is already scheduled. Then an Air Force plane (from the Philippines) will go Israel to transport the missiles to the Philippines, all expenses paid by the proponent,” Mercado said.

Tentative delivery and fitting out date is within December, the PN chief added.

The three MPACs, with hull number BA-488, BA-489, and BA-490, were activated last May 22.

These MPACs are the Mark III models and considerably more advanced that the six Mark I and IIs currently in the Navy inventory that was constructed by Subic Bay-based Propmech Corporation.

Contract for the three ships is worth PHP270 million which was sourced from the Armed Forces of the Philippines Modernization Act Trust Fund of 2000. The contract for the weapons system and missiles is worth PHP594,319,550.

Second Air Warfare Destroyer Enters Sea Trials

The Australian Defence Force’s second Air Warfare Destroyer (AWD), NUSHIP Brisbane, has commenced its first phase of sea trials, which will test the ship’s hull, propulsion and navigation systems.

The initial trial phase, which will occur over the coming months, will be followed by a more advanced phase of sea trials next year to test the ship’s combat and communications systems.

Minister for Defence Industry, the Hon Christopher Pyne MP, said this achievement is a further demonstration of industry’s role as a fundamental input into capability for Defence.

“Over the past decade, more than 5000 people from across the Department of Defence, ASC, Raytheon Australia and Navantia have dedicated millions of hours of effort to the AWD program,” Minister Pyne said.

“With more than 60 per cent Australian industry capability, the AWD program is a true example of a home-grown capability.

“Through the AWD program, we have created a local workforce with specialist shipbuilding and complex systems integration skills that will form the foundation for future shipbuilding projects in Australia.”

The start of Brisbane’s sea trials phase follows the commissioning of HMAS Hobart earlier this year, with both events reinforcing the success of the Government-led reform, an initiative that set the AWD program on track to meet cost and schedule targets.

“As part of the AWD reform initiative, the Commonwealth worked directly alongside industry to remediate the program,” Minister Pyne said.

“This resulted in an injection of Commonwealth expertise and shipbuilding management from Navantia, as well as project management oversight and de-risking activities from Raytheon Australia.

“Working together with ASC’s quality shipbuilding workforce, this new structure has put the AWD program on a path to long-term success.”

Wow... TNI Pesan 22 Speedboat Made In Warga Pesisir Paciran

Lamongan - Tentara Nasional Indonesia (TNI) memesan 22 speedboat di Paciran, Lamongan. Bahkan, sejumlah personel dari Mabes TNI juga sudah menjajal speedboat tersebut.

Informasi yang dihimpun menyebutkan, pembuatan speedboat ini dilakukan oleh PT Luckon Arthaka Nusantara (PATRIOT BOAT) yang bekerjasama dengan PT Tri Ratna Diesel Indonesia yang berada di Desa Tunggul, Kecamatan Paciran, sedang mengerjakan 22 speedboat pesanan dari Mabes TNI. Saat ini, 22 speedboat selesai pengerjaannya. 

Komandan Koramil Paciran, Kap. Arh. Suherman membenarkan Mabes TNI memesan 22 speedboat di Lamongan. Tim Mabes TNI, terang Herman, juga sudah meninjau progres pengerjaan speedboat tersebut di Galangan Kapal Santosa Marine (Agrindo). 

"Ya memang telah dilaksanakan kunjungan tim Mabes TNI dalam rangka uji coba speedboat pesanan Mabes TNI dipimpin oleh Kepala Badan Pembekalan TNI, Brigjen Fabian Albert Embran dan karena ini acaranya BABEK TNI, jadi juga mengundang wairjen dan kadislaikad," kata Herman kepada wartawan, Kamis (16/11/2017).

Herman mengatakan, saat meninjau pengerjaan speedboat, rombongan dari Mabes TNI beserta sekitar 20 orang juga melakukan uji coba kepada 22 unit speedboat tersebut di perairan Pantai Paciran. 

"22 Speedboat yang diujicoba karena sudah selesai pengerjaannya," ungkap Herman.

Dia mengungkapkan, selain Kepala Badan Pembekalan TNI Brigjen Fabian Albert Embran dari Mabes TNI, sejumlah petinggi TNI lainnya juga turut hadir peninjauan pembuatan speedboat. Di antaranya adalah Wairjen TNI, Laksamana Muda Maheranto, Kepala Dinas Kelaikan Angkatan Darat Brigjen. Eko Erwanto dan Kolonel Armed Wiwin Sugiono.
