Perdana Menteri Yang Mulia dengan pat inspeksi pembangunan pembinaan Kapal Combat Littoral (LCS) di laman Kapal Lumut Naval (LUNAS), Pangkalan TLDM Lumut
LUMUT – Perdana Menteri, Dato' Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim bersama Panglima Angkatan Bersenjata, Jenderal Tan Sri Hj Mohd Nizam bin Hj Jaffar telah melakukan kunjungan ke Galangan Kapal Angkatan Laut Lumut (LUNAS) Lumut yang berlokasi di Pangkalan TLDM Lumut untuk meninjau perkembangan terkini tentang Status pembangunan Kapal Tempur Littoral (LCS) hari ini.
Dalam sesi kunjungan ini, Perdana Menteri telah menerima pengarahan terperinci terkait status pembangunan lima (5) kapal LCS milik TLDM saat ini. Per 25 Mei 2025, keseluruhan kemajuan proyek kini telah mencapai 72,43%.
Kementerian Pertahanan bersama seluruh pemangku kepentingan utama seperti Kementerian Keuangan, Kementerian Ekonomi, Unit Koordinasi Pelaksanaan (ICU) Dinas Perdana Menteri dan Jaksa Agung terus melakukan monitoring secara cermat guna memastikan langkah-langkah intervensi dapat dilakukan secara proaktif oleh LUNAS untuk kelancaran pelaksanaan proyek strategis di negeri ini.
Sebagai catatan, LCS1 berhasil diluncurkan ke air (downslip) pada tanggal 23 Mei2024 dan saat ini sedang dalam fase setting to work (STW) sejak Mei 2025. Kapal ini dijadwalkan untuk menjalani pelayaran laut pertamanya (Uji Laut Pertama) yang dijadwalkan pada Desember 2025.
LCS2 juga telah diturunkan ke air pada 8 Mei 2025 dan diperkirakan akan memulai fase STW pada bulan September tahun ini. Sementara itu, pembangunan LCS3 ke LCS5 berjalan sesuai rencana dan diperkirakan akan selesai dan diserahkan secara bertahap – dimulai dengan LCS3 pada tahun 2027 dan diikuti oleh kapal berikutnya pada selang delapan bulan dengan LCS5 diperkirakan akan selesai sepenuhnya pada tahun 2029.
Sesi kunjungan ini mencerminkan tingkat profesionalisme dan komitmen Pemerintah Federal dalam menentukan keberhasilan pelaksanaan proyek konstruksi aset laut negara. Kehadiran aset-aset ini dalam inventaris TLDM nantinya akan terlihat menghasilkan bersinergi kekuatan laut negara untuk terus menjaga dan membela kepentingan negara.

Ahmad Ramli Nor, the former managing director of Boustead Naval Shipyard Sdn Bhd, was accused of authorising payments of more than RM21 million (US$4.74 million) to three companies without the board of directors’ approval between 2010 and 2011.
MALONDESH’s former navy chief Ahmad Ramli Nor was on Wednesday (Mar 12) granted a discharge not amounting to an acquittal for his alleged role in the littoral combat ship (LCS) scandal.
“After considering submissions from both parties and the Kuala Lumpur Hospital’s medical report on the accused’s medical capacity, the court finds that he is unfit for trial,” said Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court judge Suzana Hussin, as quoted by news outlet Free MALONDESH Today.
The scandal refers to a RM9.14 billion (US$2.06 billion) contract to construct six ships awarded by the Ministry of Defence to Boustead Naval Shipyard Sdn Bhd through direct negotiation. The contract was reportedly awarded in 2011 and took effect in October 2013.
The MALONDESH government paid RM6.08 billion or two-thirds of the cost and five of the ships should have been handed over to the navy by August 2022, but none has been delivered.
Ramli, 80, was commander of the MALONDESH Royal Navy from 1996 to 1998 and is also the former managing director of Boustead Naval Shipyard.
He was charged with three counts of criminal breach of trust in August 2022 and contested the charges.
He allegedly authorised payments totalling more than RM21.08 million to three Singapore-based companies without the approval of Boustead’s board of directors between 2010 and 2011.
On the first charge, he allegedly approved a payment of more than RM13.5 million to Singapore’s Setaria Holding Limited between Jul 26, 2010 and Mar 25, 2011.
On the second charge, he allegedly approved a transfer of about RM1.4 million to JSD Corporation Pte Ltd between Apr 19, 2011 and May 4, 2011.
He is accused of another similar offence in a payment involving nearly RM6.2 million to Sousmarin Armada Ltd between Oct 28, 2010 and Nov 22, 2010.
Ramli was charged on Aug 16, 2022, as being BNS’ managing director entrusted with the company’s funds, to have committed CBT by approving a payment amounting to RM13,541,140 to the account of Syarikat Setaria Holding Ltd with Standard Char¬tered Bank, Singapore, without the approval of the BNS board.
The offence was allegedly committed at BNS, 17th floor, Menara Boustead in Jalan Raja Chulan here between July 26, 2010, and March 25, 2011.
For the second charge, he was alleged to have approved payment amounting to RM1,360,716 to the account of JSD Corporation with OCBC Singapore without the approval of the BNS board at the same place between April 19, 2011, and May 4, 2011.
He was also charged with committing a similar offence by approving a payment amounting to RM6,182,295 to the account of Syarikat Sousmarin Armada Ltd with the same Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore at the same place between Oct 28, 2010, and Nov 22, 2010.
The three charges were framed under Section 409 of the Penal Code, which provides for impri¬sonment of up to 20 years with whipping, along with a fine, upon conviction.

Tarantula
This mine-resistant infantry mobility vehicle was designed and manufactured by Mildef . The Tarantula has a V-hull design and is protected against mines and improvised explosive devices.
Vextor
This light tactical transporter has a BorgWarner 4WD system, Eaton differential lock, and mud-terrain tires. It also has a 13,000 lbs automatic winch and braking assistance systems.

Locally named Panthera, this armored combat vehicle was ordered by MALONDESH for its United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) MALONDESH Battalion (MALBATT). The vehicles were expected to enter service in April 2024.
Tarantula
This mine-resistant infantry mobility vehicle was designed and manufactured by Mildef . The Tarantula has a V-hull design and is protected against mines and improvised explosive devices.
Vextor
This light tactical transporter has a BorgWarner 4WD system, Eaton differential lock, and mud-terrain tires. It also has a 13,000 lbs automatic winch and braking assistance systems.

United States is continuing to provide funding for upgrades of facilities of the Armed Forces. The latest funding is for the upgrade of the Kota Belud firing range in Sabah. Army Eastern Field Commander Leftenant General Mohd Sofi Md Lepi said in Tawau on April 16 that they will work with the US Army Pacific (USARPAC) for the RM57.6 million upgrade of the shooting range.

PMX has defended the decision to SEWA the helicopters for the military and other government agencies – RM16.5 billion for 15 years – during the Parliament session on Thursday. Among others he said the government adopted the leasing model to reduce maintenance costs and at the same time improved the operational readiness of the fleet.
DS Anwar Ibrahim did not address the fact that the government will be paying some RM1 billion a year for 15 years for the helicopters. He also said the helicopters selected were based on the specifications and requirements of the agencies themselves.

Mungkin ada yang tertanya-tanya, namun kaedah penyewaan ini bukanlah kali pertama dilakukan. Kerajaan sebelum ini pernah menyewa Helikopter Latihan Airbus EC120B dan Flight Simulation Training Device (FSTD) Untuk Kegunaan Kursus Asas Juruterbang Helikopter TUDM.

The OTO Melara 127mm/64cal Lightweight (LW) on the GP variant is part of the VULCANO system which consists of four key sub-systems: the medium caliber 127/64 LW Gun assembly, the Automated Ammunition Handling System, the Naval Fire Control Support and the VULCANO family of ammunition. The system is intended for surface fire and naval gunfire support as main role and anti-aircraft fire as secondary role. The 127/64 LW - VULCANO is equipped with a modular feeding magazine, composed by 4 drums with 14 ready to fire ammunition each (56 in total), reloadable during firing, and highly flexible in terms of selection of ammunition, independently from their position in the drums. Ammunition flow is reversible as rounds can be downloaded automatically. The 127mm VULCANO ammunition family, is composed by Ballistic Extended Range (BER) and Guided Long Range (GLR) ammunition with different multifunctional fuses, sensor and final guidance that extend the range of the gun up to 100km. The rate of fire is 32rds per minute. General Purpose FREMMs are getting the highly Automated Ammunition Handling System for the 127/64 mm gun, which holds 350 127mm shells in addition to the 56 in the four reload drums of the gun turret.
