KCR-40 class FAC-M (photo : Kaskus Militer)
Indonesian shipyard PT Caputra Mitra Sejati has begun work on a lightly-armed variant of the KCR-40-class missile attack craft for the Indonesian navy (Tentara Nasional Indonesia Angkatan Laut, or TNI-AL), a source close to the service confirmed with IHS Jane's on 21 June.
The variant has been dubbed the PC-40 and retains the hull characteristics of the original KCR-40 platform, including its overall length of 44 m, overall beam of 7.4 m, and hull draught of 2.4 m. Keel for the first-of-class was laid on 6 April at PT Caputra Mitra Sejati's shipyard in Serang-Banten, Indonesia.
However, unlike the KCR-40, the PC-40 will not be armed with launchers for anti-ship missiles.

Oo untuk kapal patroli. Senjata semacam kanon 30mm, ya?
BalasHapusRCWS & stabilized?
Tidak dilengkapi anti ship missiles.., wah lebih unyu dari KCR lagi.. Buat ngeronda dimana ya?
BalasHapusSince the PC-40 Class Patrol Craft is identical to the KCR-40 Clurit Class Missile Attack Craft. I do suggest that the shipyard retains the floor mounting and space for the 2 × C-705 Anti-Ship Missile in case in the foreseeable future there will be a need for this offensive weapon. Take note, lately there has been some serious altercations between Indonesia and China near Natuna Island regarding fishing grounds.
BalasHapusInstead of serious offensive weapon, i would prefer to fill the pc-40 with more powerfull engine for 35knot++ and high power multi frequencies jammer of radio and gps. The chinnese CG will only arrive if they receive a distress call from their fisherman, no distress call means no CG, and no CG means nothing to worries of any altercations.

BalasHapusSpeaking about the growing tension between us and China, honestly I'd rather feel unsatisfied due to the fact that our navy being employed to counter Chinese CG. It seemed that our navy only stands on the same level with the CG, which were not significant enough for them to call on their navy to deter ours.
BalasHapusIt's because our CG are just born.. they don't have the capabilities and their boat are not there yet. So the only ready to deploy are the navy. Even if our navy were weak, we still one of few countries that able and have big balls to counter china aggresiveness.. you should remember what malaysia do to defend their border when china CG group enter their water... none...
HapusMr Bebei.. long time no see. Glad to see u again. How's u'r best pal Mr Muallim bayhaqi? Any improvement yet? Hahaha
HapusThat's true and I do proud that our dear president really has a gut to stand off the Chinese. Yet, it still pisses me off that our navy instead of doing some great scale war exercises to deter the prospective enemies, it rather turns into chasing illegal fishermen, and sparing with the CG instead of other's navy.
Soon or later, china will sent their bigger CG or probably their navy to the site. But at least before it happen they already know what will happen when they enter our water.
HapusGood point of u Mr Bebei.. But i'd rather curious with China. Would they really have a gut to escalate the situation with us? since we hold de facto leadership of ASEAN, we could relatively at ease to drawn support from both within ASEAN Countries and from neighborhood powers such as US,Jap,AUS,and India into our cause. And since those powers are already on facing side with china, and also have a significant interest on economic ground with us, they would not, and better never to let us fall before the Chinese.
