Philippine Coast Guard’s fifth Japan-made 44-meter Parola-class Multi-role Response Vessel (MRRV) was formally received today at the Headquarters Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), South Harbor, Port Area, Manila.

The vessel was named after the Suluan Lighthouse in Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

BRP Suluan (MRRV-4406), is the fifth vessel built and delivered by Japan Marine United Corporation (JMUC) under PCG’s Maritime Safety Capability Improvement Project (MSCIP) Phase I for 10 44-meter MRRVs.

Deliveries are expected every quarter until completion of 10 units in 2018.

“Five (5) more brand new MRRVs will be built for the PCG and will also be named after the primary lighthouses in the country to denote its significance as one of the navigational aids in the maritime industry,” PCG said.

    6. A few. While there is many others out there. Singapore is realistic. Since Laju incident it was different. After 9/11 we know there will be terrorist. JI is an example. No country is immune. All it takes is 1 terrorist to get it and thats it. Creation of isis has changed the world. Europe is a mess . Now isis is losing grounds in the middle east, SEA is the next place they can go to. With a strong muslim population they will spread their ideology and gain supporters. It has alrdy begun since the creation of isis. Even sg has radicalised terrorist. Govt has made it clear to fellow sg people. It is not if but when will the attack happen. Lone radicals are hard to detect. Thankfully ISD caught and prevented many from fleeing. Still those who mamage to like i said get it right once made it out. That guy in phillippines is one of them. We have alrdy did our best of our abilities. The rest is up to the region. The fact that southern phillippines is a haven for militants shows the lack of control by the govt of phillippines. This militancy and rebels as well as communist have been there for decades. What action taken? Little. Even if they clear marawi which will be done so what? The whole southern phillippines is still filled with militancy. U r delibrately letting them stay there. Stop peace treaties alrdy these will do them good but not for the country. Look at malaysia and thailand they r taling these seriously and have been working on it. Indonesia is hard as the country is too big. They warned that sleeper cells remain there. If PAF takes action and clear southern phillippines the next place for militants is either East java, sabah or sarawak. Foreign fighters r returning to the region they will continue their mission for sure.

    9. @anak. Welcome to the digital age. Information is easily spread. Looked at lone wolf attacks or lone wolf radicalised individuals they were influenced online. Or they watch vids that supports isis or terrorist videos that call for supporters. Some lone wolfs might then spread the ideology to their friends and they could form a grp which in turn if they decide to commit a terroist attack it will be a grp attack which will be much more dangerous. Information is easily accessible these days.

      Hapus
    10. that even make it no sense...the digital era today will make people confuse..so many information..i dont see people will get influenced easily..no way..

i wonder what make people will to sacrifice themselves for the sake of jihad..when the every muslim knows that suicide is prohibited in islam no matter what..people get involve in this movement is not stupid.they are many of them are professional..that make me wonder...

      Hapus
    11. so what actually the radical is?? what kind of "good message" they spreading for...what make it so good ??? yes there are number of people get caught for spreading the ideology...but why theres no iniciative from the gov or police to tell the detail about the ideology to the people...let the muslim scholar to counter the false ideology..

      Hapus
    12. I do not know. I believe u r a muslim yourselve. Tell me why do u think that there are muslims out there who choose this path?

      Hapus
    13. The digital age can confuse. So long as isis gets what their msg is then they have got what they wanted so long as people view their content or propaganda and decides to follow the path then thats all it takes. I mean look all those lone attackers a lot influenced online. Social media u have whatsapp, facebook, twitter, instagram, tumblr all these u can spread msg for anyone to see. Just get the people u target to view it then u got followers. U can have a terrorist who creates a facebook page to spread isis views. U dont have to have an official isis page to spread. Its like a virus. When the source spreads others spread. Youtube u have those executions they want to sent a msg to the world in that turn it inspires radicals to bear arms and fight for them. Youtube can spread, online. A google search engine heck perhaps u can find a terrorist website and click on it and there all their propaganda and some muslim viewers will get infulenced. In 90s for terrorist to spread their ideology they used CDs and cameras sent to news hoping to spread their cause. Magazines, papers, radio channels, those are the old ways. It spreads slower but it workers. Some still in use today like radios and magazines. The spread is easier in todays connected world. That is the reality.

    14. There is not much any govt can do. Even of they order facebook or twitter to take down a website for terrorism or a post on terrorist. All the deleted content posted by the user have to do is reupload in a new account. Cat and mouse game so it is endless. Internet is vast so it is not possible to prevent this spread. U can try and ban these sites instead of taking it down might give false hopes to the content uploader thinking that his website is not taken down but unknowingly banned in a certain country.

      Hapus
    15. But companies have policies so perhaps they may or may not know that their content have been banned in that particular country. Oh well

    16. what i think about them..well,thay are the group of people who give islam a bad name..many people today hates islam & muslim because of these guys...thats what i think..honestly..i dont even think that they are muslim at all..

not every muslim know about jihad..but 99.9% muslim knows that suicide is prohibited..thats a very BIG sin..youll be throw to the hell forever no matter how good you are before...this is simple principle that make all this isis stuff nonsense...

      Hapus
    17. some of the content do has a similarity with the islamic teaching..but the thing they are doing is clearly wrong in islam..no need to be syeikh or expert to know that...
today,it's hard to be a good muslim who will continue practising pray 5x a day, fasting etc...so how these isis group easily ask people to join them to fight & die for their goal..some cases even volunteer to be suiside bomber..thats very very very unthinkable thing..

      Hapus
    18. the most popular thing in isis cases is syahid(means die fighting for the sake of islam) many non muslim believe that the biggest factor that motivate muslim to join isis..but the real thing..THAT NONSENSE..

yes islam tell people about syahid in jihad.. but the thing is you just can't ASK or SEEK for syahid..you wipl never get it..there mus be a good reason to fight... fight for your safety or when war happen..but still you have follow the rule..you cant fight like a maniac and kill innocent people..infact,you cant fight without proper plan, strategy & leadership..if you fight like a moron..you will die in vain..your death is not consider syahid in islam...

      Hapus
    19. if you look at marawi....what actually the reason they fight for??? mr duterte prohibite islam in philipine??? nope..muslim is prohibited to continue practising islam?? nope..so what is the reason??? i hope that all non muslim will not consider all isis or daesh is not about islam..somebody up there use islam as scapegoat to pursue their dream..which is not related to islam...

    20. My view in Philippines is that they an equal opportunity in all religion.they live peacefully until such time foreign terrorist arrived, manipulated and destroy the peaceful loving Phinoys.hope sooner or later Phil government will neutralize those terrorist

      Hapus
    21. Glad to hear that anak. Thw West now has islamphobia. Thats the result of the violence. By doing so isis is winning. Islamphobia will benefit the terrorist as they can claim that there is an enemy.

      Hapus
    22. @k8kk. Before the terrorist came there was the communist. Then came the rebels when the country was unstable due to political divisions in the phillippines. Then some time later the militants came which is basically the terrorist. Today the rebels, communist and terrorist remain however the communist and rebels are less stronger and are more towards what some believed a peaceful end perhaps after years of fighting some grps got tired of it while some continue the fight. Which i have some doubts. Same for the terrorist. Some terror grps handed over their arms to the govt. Of course the bigger grps remain fighting. Perhaps those small grps that disbanded joined the bigger organisations. This are just speculations but it is possible.
