MANILA (PNA) -- The Philippine Air Force (PAF) has allocated the sum of PHP32,650,000 for the acquisition of one engine assembly needed for the maintenance of one of its Fokker F-27 "Friendship" transport aircraft with tail number 259.
Pre-bid conference is scheduled for April 21, 1 p.m. at the PAF Procurement Center Conference Room, Villamor Air Base, Pasay City.
While submission and opening of bids is on May 5, 9 a.m. at the same venue.
The F-27 Friendship is a turboprop aircraft designed and built by the defunct Dutch aircraft manufacturer Fokker.
The PAF presently has three F-27s in its fleet.
Many aircraft have been modified from passenger service to cargo or express-package freighter roles.

BalasHapusI concur with you Adhianto, but at present all countries in the world even including Russia and US are in a tight economic situation. They themselves are even upgrading their legacy platforms. What more for the Philippines, the life cycle of the 3 remaining F-27s are low maintaining them for the time being can compliment the new C-295s, C-130s and Upcoming C-212 coming from your country.
