Radar RAT-31 DL/M produksi Leonardo S.p.A Italia bersama PT LEN Indonesia (photos: TNI AU)
Kepala Staf Angkatan Udara (Kasau) Marsekal TNI Fadjar Prasetyo, S.E., M.P.P., CSFA., didampingi Ketua Umum PIA Ardhya Garini Ny. Inong Fadjar Prasetyo meresmikan Unit Radar Pacitan Satuan Radar 221 Ngliyep di Pacitan, Jawa Timur, Kamis (1/2/2024).
Dengan menggunakan pesawat Helikopter H 225M Tail number H-2207 dengan penerbang Mayor Pnb Adam, Kasau dan Ketua Umum PIA Ardhya Garini Ny. Inong Fadjar Prasetyo beserta pejabat Utama Mabesau mendarat di Helipad Detasemen TNI AU Pacitan.
Dukungan Heli lainnya masing-masing H 225M Tail number 2212 dan 2213 membawa pejabat lainnya untuk mendampingi Kunjungan Kasau dalam rangka Peresmian tersebut.
Kasau dalam sambutannya menjelaskan bahwa Radar Medium Range Di Pacitan yang saat ini dioperasionalkan oleh Unit Radar Pacitan Di bawah Satuan Radar 221 Ngliyep ini merupakan komitmen TNI AU dalam memodernisasi alutsista dimana ini semua merupakan bagian penting dari sistem pertahanan nasional.
Kasau menegaskan bahwa penempatan Radar ini di Pacitan selain untuk operasi pertahanan udara juga untuk latihan operasi Udara.
Kasau dalam kesempatan tersebut menitipkan kepada Forkopimda Pacitan tentang keberadaan Radar ini dengan harapan TNI AU semakin dikenal oleh Masyarakat yang berujung pada meningkatnya minat generasi muda Pacitan untuk menjadi Prajurit TNI AU.
Peresmian ditandai dengan penekanan tombol sirine tanda diresmikannya operasional Unit Radar Pacitan Satuan Radar 221 Ngliyep ini dilanjutkan dengan penandatangan prasasti peresmian dan pengguntingan pita.
Radar RAT-31 DL/M ini merupakan produksi bersama PT. LEN dan Perusahaan Italia Leonardo S.p.A, Radar yang termasuk medium long range ini mengusung teknologi 3D – tiga dimensi yang mencakup 3D (Range, Azimuth, Height) dengan kemampuan pengawasan (pengawasan/penjagaan) dan memiliki jangkauan hingga 400 km serta ketinggian deteksi 30.500 meter.

Radar ini diklaim dapat mendeteksi kehadiran rudal balistik dan telah dilengkapi perangkat untuk menghadapi peperangan elektronika/ECM, keberadaan Radar ini semakin mempertegas komitmen TNI AU dalam memodernisasi alutsista dalam memperkuat sistem pertahanan nasional dalam menjaga kedaulatan NKRI.
Turut hadir dalam peresmian ini Pangkoopsudnas Marsdya TNI Ir. Tedi Rizalihadi S., M.M., Dankodiklatau Marsdya TNI Dr. Arief Mustofa, M.M., para Asisten Kasau, Bupati Pacitan dan segenap Forkopimda Pacitan.

Boeing to close F/A-18 Super Hornet production line in 2025
Boeing is scheduled to close the F/A-18 Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler production line in 2025 following the last deliveries to the US Navy (USN), the company said on 23 February, although a new export order may keep the line open until 2027.
The USN holds the last Super Hornet orders, which Boeing will fulfil at a rate of two aircraft per month, the company told Janes. Deliveries to customers abroad – Australia and Kuwait operate the aircraft – have been completed. Boeing's final ongoing Super Hornet sales campaign is the Indian Navy's multirole carrier-borne fighter requirement for 57 fighter-bombers to equip its two aircraft carriers, competing against the Dassault Rafale.
The production line in St Louis, Missouri, employs approximately 1,500 people, Boeing told Janes. Resources and people currently devoted to F/A-18 production will be sent to other programmes, including the T-7 Red Hawk trainer, MQ-25 Stingray, and F-15EX Eagle, as well as wing components for the commercial 777X – all built in the former McDonnell Douglas factory at St Louis Lambert International Airport.

Sebelum radar jarak jauh tersebut diperoleh, Komandan Angkatan Udara Pasifik Amerika Serikat (US PACAF) Jenderal Ken Wilsbach sempat melakoni kunjungan kerja resmi ke Malaysia sekaligus singgah ke lokasi radar AN/TPS-77 di Skuadron 340 Bukit Kubong.
Menariknya, Malaysia tak mengeluarkan uang sepeserpun alias hanya menerima "hibah" dari Amerika Serikat untuk memperolehnya.
Dengan kata lain, Negeri Paman Sam itu memberikan subsidi penuh untuk proses akuisisi radar tersebut senilai 25,1 juta dolar AS yang disepakati pada tahun 2021.

SEOUL, Feb. 2 (Yonhap) -- Indonesian engineers have been under investigation over allegedly stealing technologies related to the KF-21 fighter jet under development, the state-run procurement agency said Friday.
The engineers dispatched to Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) are under suspicion of storing data on KF-21 development on a USB, according to the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA).
"A joint investigation composed of related agencies, including the National Intelligence Service, is currently under way to look into the circumstances of the Indonesians' alleged technology theft," a DAPA official told reporters.
The probe is focused on whether the stored data contains strategic technologies related to the KF-21 development program, according to sources familiar with the issue. The Indonesians are currently banned from leaving South Korea.
Indonesia, a partner country of the KF-21 fighter jet development project, has failed to shoulder 20 percent of the project's cost of 8.8 trillion won (US$6.5 billion), raising questions over its commitment over the program launched in 2015.
Indonesia is estimated to have paid 278.3 billion won for the project so far and is behind in payments by nearly 1 trillion won.
South Korea plans to begin production of the KF-21 fighter jets later this year, with the aim of deploying 120 KF-21s by 2032.
