EMTEQ has been awarded a contract to supply avionics equipment, mounting trays, wire harnessing and EMTEQ’s light-weight, low loss polyethylene (PFLX) RF coaxial cables as part of the Royal Thai Air Force C130 upgrade program. Rockwell Collins is the prime integrator.

EMTEQ’s kits are being installed on 12 aircraft and include systems such as:
-Traffic collision avoidance system (TCAS)
-Mode S transponders
-Terrain awareness and warning system (TAWS)
-Multi-function displays (MFD)
-Distance measuring equipment (DME)
-Emergency transmitter locator (ELT)
-Multi-mode receiver (MMR)
-Satellite communications (SATCOM)

EMTEQ business unit manager Mark Miller explains, "EMTEQ believes that providing more than what’s expected is one of the most important services we can offer our customers. In this particular case, we worked with Rockwell Collins on engineering drawing change improvements that have allowed us to be more responsive to Rockwell Collins, and Rockwell Collins to the Thai government." This is one of multiple C130 programmes awarded to EMTEQ by Rockwell Collins. Other contracts for similar programmes are being negotiated.

EMTEQ’s installation kit shipments are scheduled for completion during October 2009. The installations themselves are taking place in Thailand with several already successfully installed and in service.
