Mobility assets of the Philippine Army (PA) were greatly boosted with the delivery of brand-new 219 Kia KM-450 military trucks late December.
This was announced by PA spokesperson Col. Benjamin Hao in an interview Thursday.
The 219 KM-450s are part of an initial 327 vehicle delivery made by KIA, he added.
Of these, 219 are earmarked for the Army while the remaining 108 will be divided between the Air Force, Navy and Marines.
These vehicles are now undergoing technical inspection and assessment before being handed over to their mother units.
Hao said another 390 KM-450s are scheduled to arrive before the end of January.
The PA spokesperson said the KM-450 deal with KIA is Php1.937 billion for 717 KM-450 units.
KM-450s are used for transport and humanitarian assistance and disaster relief missions by the PA.
