Schiebel Camcopter S-100 Successfully Demonstrates New Comint and Imaging Payloads to Australian Army Customer

S-100 Unmanned Air System (UAS) to gain further insights into future capabilities and payloads in support of Project Land 129-3. Specifically, they tested ELTA Systems’ state-of-the-art ELK-7065 Compact Airborne HF COMINT/DF 3D System during the first week, followed by Overwatch Imaging’s game-changing TK-5 Firewatch during the second week of the exercise. As the market leader in Vertical Takeoff and Landing (VTOL) UAS, the multipayload capable S-100 offers a proven platform for military and civilian applications on land and at sea. It operates day and night, under adverse weather conditions and with a beyond line-of-sight capability of up to 200 km.

The combination of the CAMCOPTER® S-100 and the ELK-7065 offers a remarkably flexible high-frequency (HF) communications intelligence (COMINT) capability that provides rapid spectrum exploration, analysis and detection of advanced HF communication signals in real time and with off-line analysis tools. Furthermore, it is suitable to operate in harsh electromagnetic environments.

“The ELK-7065, integrated on the CAMCOPTER® S-100 UAS, offers the essential capability of delivering time-critical intelligence in the most complex operational environments,” noted Chris Day, Chief Technical Officer for Schiebel. “This is increasingly important for military, para-military and civilian applications.”

Overwatch Imaging’s TK-5 Firewatch payload, which was tested during the second week of the exercise, bridges the gap between small drone mapping cameras and satellite mapping systems. The wide-area multi-band land mapping with automatic small object detection enables regional-scale applications in real time with optimal resolution. It includes color, near infrared (NIR) and temperature-calibrated thermal longwave infrared (LWIR) sensors that operate at the same time, including simultaneous on-board image processing. Integrated on the CAMCOPTER® S-100, it becomes an extremely powerful asset for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) missions.


Director General of Aviation for the Australian Army, Brigadier John Fenwick, commented that, “The lease of the CAMCOPTER® S-100 and its advanced payloads is an important activity supporting Army’s understanding of UAS capabilities. We will continue to explore all options to keep the Australian Army at the forefront of new technologies.”

    Mungkin info itu ada benarnya, walopun belum tentu lantaran sistim rudalnya yg jelek 🤷🤷🤷

    Begini analisane :

    Di alam ini ada fenomena dimana arus udara hangat yg bertiup dari daratan, ketika bertemu dg evaporasi air laut yg dingin akan menimbulkan fenomena berupa munculnya "sekat" diantara 2 lapisan udara (yg hangat dan dingin) yg tidak tertembus oleh radar, beberapa diantaranya bernama: ducting, superrefraksi, subrefraksi dll

    Fenomena ini sangat dikenal didunia pelayaran, terutama oleh operator radarnya.

    Yang tak ingat betul yaitu fenomena "ducting"...🤷🤷🤷

    Ducting ini semacam sekat imajiner yg memanjang sejajar dg permukaan bumi, dan tingginya biasanya sedikit diatas tiang radar...dan efeknya bagi radar ialah, berkas radar yg seharusnya dipancarkan dg kemiringan 70 drajat kearah atas, mentok oleh "sekat imajiner" tsb dan berkasnya justru memantul searah dg arah sumbu ducting tadi.

    Atau anggap saja kita sdg berada didalam terowongan dan menghadap kedepan...maka kalo kita menyorotkan senter keatas dg kemiringan 70 drajat, maka berkasnya justru memantul kedepan.

    Nah, kalo dalam dunia pelayaran, ketika radar bertemu dg fenomena ini, maka radar "bahkan" bisa melihat obyek yg berlayar/terbang rendah, jauh dibalik cakrawala (dalam kondisi normal, radar tidak bisa melihat obyek yg berada dibalik cakrawala)...tapi dia justru tidak bisa melihat obyek yg terbang diatas "sekat imajiner" tadi.

    Tapi uniknya, fenomena ini muncul dan hilang begitu saja...begitu juga dg lama kemunculannya.

    Lazimnya hal ini sering terjadi diwilayah dg lintang tinggi (belahan utara), tapi juga kadang muncul di perairan arab, perairan selatan teluk bengala, perairan pasifik selatan ditimur vanuatu, fiji, muroroa...dan juga perairan cina timur, diantara jepang dan vietnam.

    Lalu hubungannya dengan berita dari TASS tsb...mungkin saja begini 🤗🤗🤗

    Lazimnya uji tembak rudal itu berlangsung dipinggir pantai, seperti ketika TNI uji tembak rudal dan skyshield.

    Sangat mungkin ketika spyder melakukan uji tembak, dia sdg menemui fenomena ini...sehingga target drone yg sedang terbang tidak terlihat oleh radar karena "efek ducting", karena berada diatas "sekat imajiner" tadi.

    Jika spider menemui fenomena ini, maka hanya rudal derby nya saja yg dipandu oleh radar yg jeblok perfomanya...tapi rudal python yg berpemandu IR tetap berfungsi dengan baik.

    Hal ini bisa terjadi pada rudal buatan manapun, jika menemui fenomena ini 🤷🤷🤷

    Rusia yg pernah lama bercokol di vietnam (di danang dan chamran bay), tentu sudah lama mengenal fenomena ini....dan jika benar hal ini penyebabnya, maka mereka sedang tertawa terbahak-bahak 🤣🤣🤣🤣, sambil pura-pura berkata bhw rudal buatan israel tidak cocok dioperasikan di wilayah tropis 🙅🙅🙅🙅🙅🙅🙅🙅
