Singapura – PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia Tbk (GMF), anak usaha Garuda Indonesia yang bergerak di bidang perawatan pesawat udara, kembali menunjukkan komitmennya memperkuat posisi sebagai penyedia jasa perawatan pesawat terintegrasi di kancah global dengan berpartisipasi dalam ajang MRO Asia-Pacific 2025 yang berlangsung pada Selasa–Kamis (16–18/09) di Singapore Expo. Ajang ini menjadi momentum bagi GMF untuk memperkuat kerja sama strategis dalam rangka meningkatkan pelayanan, mengeksplorasi peluang bisnis baru, serta meresmikan proyek maintenance bersama maskapai pelanggan di kawasan Asia Pasifik.
Kolaborasi Strategis dengan Honeywell
Pada ajang ini, GMF menandatangani perjanjian strategis dengan Honeywell, berupa program flat-rate repair untuk 331-350 APU Piece Parts Repair dan Line-Replaceable Units (LRUs) secara eksklusif. Inisiatif ini akan memperkuat kapabilitas GMF dalam bisnis perawatan APU dan komponen, sekaligus meningkatkan efisiensi, mempercepat turnaround time, dan menghadirkan nilai tambah lebih besar bagi maskapai pelanggan di kawasan Asia Pasifik.

“Aliansi dengan Honeywell ini mencerminkan komitmen GMF untuk menghadirkan layanan MRO berkelas dunia dengan turnaround time yang lebih cepat, efisiensi biaya, serta peningkatan keandalan armada bagi pelanggan maskapai di Asia Pasifik. Dengan menggabungkan solusi mutakhir dari Honeywell dan keahlian teknis serta jangkauan global GMF, kami memperkuat posisi sebagai penyedia MRO terintegrasi dan terpercaya di regional,” ujar Direktur Utama GMF, Andi Fahrurrozi.
Vice President Asia Pacific Honeywell Aerospace, Eric Ai, menyatakan, “Kemampuan Honeywell dalam menghadirkan APU and Engine Solutions telah dipercaya oleh berbagai maskapai di seluruh dunia. Bersama GMF, kami berkomitmen membantu maskapai pelanggan mencapai performa yang lebih tinggi serta mendapatkan nilai tambah yang lebih besar dari armadanya,”.

Selain dengan Honeywell, GMF juga menandatangani nota kesepahaman dengan Aero Cabin Solutions untuk pengembangan kapabilitas di bidang cabin maintenance. Kerja sama ini diharapkan dapat memperkuat layanan terintegrasi GMF, khususnya pada aspek perawatan interior kabin pesawat.
Selanjutnya, GMF bersama PT Bandarudara Internasional Jawa Barat (Perseroda) atau BIJB juga menandatangani Commemoration Agreement atas rencana pengembangan dan pengelolaan Aerospace Park Kertajati melalui skema Kerja Sama Operasi (KSO). Kawasan ini akan mencakup fasilitas MRO, industri manufaktur aviasi, warehouse, fasilitas pelatihan, serta pusat bisnis aviasi lainnya. GMF juga akan menjadi anchor tenant, khususnya fasilitas MRO untuk Government & Defense, sekaligus menjadi motor penggerak pengembangan kawasan.

Tidak hanya penandatanganan kerja sama, GMF juga menggelar seremoni peresmian (commemoration) atas sejumlah proyek bersama beberapa maskapai pelanggan di Asia Pasifik, di antaranya:
• Thai Vietjet Air untuk proyek GTA yang mencakup 9 C-Check (A320) dan 4 redelivery (A320) tahun 2025.
• Air Navigator untuk proyek perawatan ATR tahun 2025.
• Cebu Pacific untuk proyek yang mencakup 9 C-Check (ATR72), 2 C-Check (A330), dan 4 C-Check (A320) tahun 2026.
• Fiji Airways untuk proyek perawatan ATR tahun 2026.
GMF juga memanfaatkan kesempatan di MRO Asia-Pacific 2025 untuk melakukan diskusi intensif dengan berbagai maskapai dan pelaku industri aviasi lainnya, seperti Qantas, PNG Air, Korean Air, Cambodia Angkor Air, AirAsia X Berhad, Wamos Air, UE Aviation, Drayton Dismantling, SC Aerospace, StandardAero, FTAI Aviation, Airbus, dan GE Aerospace – CFM International. Diskusi ini membahas peluang kerja sama dan proyek strategis untuk periode 2026–2027.

Defence contractor Aerotree Defence & Services Sdn Bhd has filed a RM353 million lawsuit against the Malondeshn government and Defence Ministry for cancelling a five-year lease agreement involving four US-made Blackhawk UH-60A helicopters for the Malondeshn army's air force unit.
Filed through Messrs Hafarizam, Wan Aisha & Mubarak at the Kuala Lumpur High Court, the suit names the Defence Ministry secretary general, the ministry, and the federal government as defendants.
In the statement of claim sighted by The Edge, Aerotree Defence is asking the court to order the Defence Ministry and the government to follow through with the helicopter lease deal based on the acceptance letter dated April 17, 2023. If the deal can’t be carried out, the company wants:
• RM17.5 million in special damages
• RM38.7 million in further damages
• US$38.7 million (about RM297.3 million) in additional compensation
Aerotree is also seeking to block the government from using a RM1.87 million bank guarantee it provided, and is asking for general damages for loss of reputation, plus exemplary and aggravated damages to be decided by the court.
In its 31-page claim, Aerotree said the government had agreed to lease four Blackhawk helicopters for five years at RM187.5 million. The deal was a Private Finance Initiative, meaning the government wouldn’t bear any cost or risk, as Aerotree would own, operate, and maintain the helicopters. The company said the helicopters were fully mission-capable, including for air force transport operations.
Aerotree is seeking a court declaration that the government’s termination of the agreement on Oct 31, 2024, is null and void.
