Senjata anti-tank THCT-105TM2 menggunakan teknologi rekayasa modern dengan hulu ledak umpan tambahan yang digunakan untuk menetralkan sistem pertahanan aktif pada tank, membantu menghancurkan tank modern. 

Saat ini, di Tentara Rakyat Vietnam, senjata anti-tank masih memainkan peran penting dalam pertahanan, terutama di tingkat infanteri. Secara tradisional, sejak perang perlawanan, pasukan kami telah menggunakan berbagai jenis senjata anti-tank yang disediakan oleh Uni Soviet.

Hingga hari ini, banyak unit infanteri masih dilengkapi dengan RPG-7 yang lebih baik, bersama dengan amunisi penembus baja modern yang mampu menghancurkan tank, kendaraan lapis baja, dan posisi yang dibentengi.

Secara khusus, industri pertahanan Vietnam kini telah memproduksi dan menghasilkan banyak jenis senjata anti-tank modern, yang digunakan dalam misi pelatihan maupun kesiapan tempur.

Peningkatan dan produksi senjata-senjata ini membantu infanteri Vietnam menjadi lebih lincah dan fleksibel, dan di saat yang sama dapat dipadukan dengan rudal anti-tank modern untuk membentuk banyak lapisan senjata anti-mekanis, yang cocok untuk peperangan modern.

Pada pameran prestasi nasional baru-baru ini "80 tahun perjalanan kemerdekaan - kebebasan - kebahagiaan" (Komune Dong Anh, Hanoi ), Departemen Umum Industri Pertahanan memperkenalkan sistem anti-tank THCT-105TM2.

Menurut data yang dipublikasikan, THCT-105TM2 berbobot 13,8 kg, memiliki jarak tembak lurus (dengan target setinggi 2 m) 200 m, jarak tembak maksimum 400 m, dan dapat menembus laras utama 105 mm dan laras sekunder 42 mm. Kompleks ini dapat menembak tank dengan lapisan pelindung reaktif eksplosif setebal 600 mm.

Staf di area pameran menyampaikan bahwa fitur khusus sistem anti-tank THCT-105TM2 adalah penggunaan teknologi modern yang dimilikinya, termasuk hulu ledak umpan. Hulu ledak ini digunakan untuk menetralkan sistem pertahanan aktif pada tank. Dari sana, hulu ledak ini membantu menghancurkan tank-tank modern.

Perwira tersebut menjelaskan bahwa saat ini, setiap jenis tank memiliki sistem pertahanan aktif. Sistem ini membantu tank mendeteksi peluru yang masuk dalam waktu 0,5 detik. Kemudian, tank akan meluncurkan peluru untuk mencegat peluru yang menyerang.

Namun, dengan THCT-105TM2, hulu ledak umpan akan diluncurkan terlebih dahulu, menyebabkan tank musuh mengaktifkan sistem pertahanan aktifnya, meluncurkan hulu ledak untuk menghancurkannya, sekitar 0,15 detik kemudian, hulu ledak utama akan ditembakkan.

Pada saat itu, sistem pertahanan aktif tank tidak memiliki waktu untuk memulai ulang kedua kalinya (waktu mulai 0,5 detik), sehingga mengakibatkan kehancurannya.

Menurut data yang dipublikasikan, amunisi utama THCT-105TM2 adalah DTC-105TM2. Amunisi ini berukuran 105 mm, panjang 1,1 m, dan berat 6,8 kg, yang mampu menembus baja saat terdapat lapisan pelindung reaktif eksplosif lebih besar atau sama dengan 600 mm.
