The Indonesian Navy (Tentara Nasional Indonesia – Angkatan Laut: TNI–AL) has embarked 119 naval cadets on its recently commissioned training ship. The trainees are currently preparing the platform for its maiden voyage, from Vigo in Spain to Surabaya in Indonesia.
The TNI–AL received delivery and commissioned the new 111 m, three-masted training ship, which has been named KRI Bima Suci , on 12 September at the facilities of Spanish shipbuilder Construcciones Navales Paulino Freire. Bima Suci was launched by the company in October 2016, and will replace the TNI–AL's current 823-ton training barquentine, KRI Dewaruci .
"Among significant differences between Bima Suci and its predecessor is that the new ship will feature more modern navigation equipment, a desalination plant, and a data link to improve communications," said the TNI–AL in a statement on the new vessel's induction.
In addition, Bima Suci features accommodation for up to 120 cadets per training mission – a significant improvement from the 70-trainee capacity of Dewaruci .
According to specifications provided by the TNI–AL, Bima Suci features an overall length of 111.2 m, an overall beam of 13.65 m, and a hull draught of 5.95 m. The ship's tallest mast stands at 49 m from deck level, and the barquentine can fly 26 sails with 3,350 sq m of total sail area.

Yet despite the downturn in the maritime industry they are still competitive. St engineering is another leader as they dominate in MRO. They also produce decent weapons for the country needs and after rebranding during the 90s they diversify and also export out to other countries and also compete in civillian sectors. Singapore Airlines has a high reputation! One of my favourites. They and cathay pacific are the only airlines in Asia that can compete close enough against middle eastern gulf carriers like emirates and qatar airways. They are within the top 5 airlines ranking list. Air Asia tops in 1st place as a low cost carrier. MAS however is struggling however it will not go bankrupt so long as the state decides to continue to finace the carrier as they owned part of it of i rmb correctly.

In the 1970s yes those mentioned Singapore Keppel is good.but nowadays they are already in the level of bankruptcy due to limited customers already.This company become the most worst player compared to other Asian company and China as well giving their previous customer a unsatisfactory service. HapusChina will triumph. We are anticipating for that. Competition is brewing heavily and adapting to changes and stay relevant has been one of the key principle. Tuas mega port is alrdy progressing once completed it can handle up to 65million standard size containers up from 40million today. It will employ technologies for automation. When ready tanjong pagar, keppel and pulau brani terminal will be closed. The development of the greater southern waterfront city district will then commence. An expansion of the marina bay perhaps like the financial district. There are multiple ideas for it and could perhaps cement the position of the country. However as china is rapidly developing there needs a plan B. A documentary showcased on the future where an idea of converting tuas mega port to a waterfront residential district can perhaps be done should the shipping industry detioriate and where china rules the maritime world. A good plan for adapting to change. Disruptions happen and with TPP a failed plan then the next step would be to be a bigger part of China's initiative.
