Kunjungan Kasau ke fasilitas Thales LAS di Limours, Prancis (photos: TNI AU)
Dalam upaya memperkuat sistem pertahanan udara nasional, Kepala Staf Angkatan Udara (Kasau), Marsekal TNI M. Tonny Harjono, S.E., M.M. melakukan kunjungan kerja ke fasilitas Thales LAS di Limours, Prancis, Selasa (25/6/2024). Kunjungan ini bertujuan meninjau secara langsung pabrikan, sekaligus mendalami teknologi radar Ground Control Intercept (GCI) yang di produksi Thales.
Kasau menerima presentasi dari pihak Thales mengenai kemampuan dan teknologi terbaru dalam sistem radar GCI. Presentasi memaparkan tentang keunggulan radar GCI dalam mendeteksi, melacak, dan mengintersepsi setiap ancaman udara dengan akurasi dan kecepatan tinggi. Teknologi radar GCI dari Thales dikenal memiliki kemampuan superior dalam mendukung operasi pertahanan udara modern yang terintegrasi dan efektif.
Dalam kesempatan tersebut, Kasau mengapresiasi inovasi dan teknologi canggih yang dikembangkan oleh Thales.
Kasau sangat terkesan dengan teknologi radar GCI Thales. Sistem ini memiliki potensi besar untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pertahanan udara kita secara signifikan, terutama dalam menghadapi berbagai ancaman modern.
Selain menerima paparan teknis, kunjungan ini juga memberikan kesempatan bagi Kasau dan delegasi TNI AU untuk berdialog dengan para ahli Thales. Dialog mencakup berbagai aspek operasional dan pemeliharaan radar GCI.
Kunjungan ke Thales LAS Limours ini merupakan bagian dari upaya TNI AU untuk memperkuat alutsista dan meningkatkan kesiapan operasional melalui adopsi teknologi mutakhir. Radar GCI yang dipresentasikan merupakan radar yang akan dioperasionalkan TNI AU, guna memperkuat sistem pertahanan udara nasional.
Kerjasama dengan Thales merupakan langkah strategis dalam modernisasi sistem pertahanan udara Indonesia. Kasau berharap dapat terus menjalin hubungan yang lebih baik dan saling menguntungkan dalam upaya memperkuat pertahanan udara nasional dalam menjaga kedaulatan negara.
