Servowatch secures a second project with Hyundai. This time to supply its world class IPMS capability for two new build Philippines Frigates
Servowatch, a leading supplier of advanced integrated ship control systems, is very proud to announce they have again been selected by Hyundai to supply their Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS). This down select will see Servowatch partnering with Hyundai Electric to provide its IPMS for installation into the Philippine Navy’s Future Frigate programme to be built in Hyundai’s Ulsan facility; the largest shipyard in the world.
The new frigates are expected to be a variant on Hyundai’s own HDF-3000 FFX-I Multipurpose Frigate. According to specifications provided by Hyundai, the design features a length of 114m, a beam of 14m and a hull draught of 4m. The platform has a standard displacement of approximately 3,000 tonnes and can accommodate engines in combined diesel (CODAD) or gas (CODOG) machinery arrangements.
Servowatch Systems’ scope of supply comprises an IPMS control and monitoring package for the vessels’ propulsion plant, electric power plant, auxiliary/ancillary system. Battle Damage Control System (BDCS) and On-board Training System (OBTS) are also to be included in scope of IPMS.

"With vessels increasing in complexity while simultaneously reducing crew sizes, systems integration is key to ensuring the functionality of critical equipments. Servowatch has introduced its most powerful IPMS solution allowing more COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) product integration. It reduces platform cost, integration time and commissioning, whilst retaining the survivability and power of the original Servowatch product," says: Wayne Ross, Chief Executive Officer, Servowatch.
"We are delighted to have been down selected again to work with Hyundai in Korea, this time for their Philippine Frigate project. Not only are we looking forward to building on our growing relationship with Hyundai’s own teams of experts to enhance the capability, service and support that Servowatch delivers to the Navy’s around the world, we are also looking forward to further growing our relationship with the Royal Philippine’s Navy."
"This second project win further cements our relationship with Hyundai and continues to demonstrate that Servowatch has what it takes to compete successfully in large scale naval projects," says Andrew Burns, Sales & Marketing Director, Servowatch.
The UK-headquartered company has invested heavily in the design and development of the next generation IPMS systems. Designed to commercial or military standards, principally for naval or larger complex commercial vessels, Servowatch offers a range of bespoke solutions to provide propulsion, electrical and auxiliary plant management from multifunction workstations with automation programmed into the system.

The navy got cheated and are upset. Those DND guys just simply dont care. In the end HHI have the last laugh.
BalasHapusWith that price tag what do you expect? You get what you pay for. Thailand and Malaysia frigate cost 400m USD per ship more expensive than the price of two Philippines upcoming frigate. It's not entirely HHI fault.
HapusYou got that right. Those people at DND did not plan properly. Heck they should not even re consider the MPA first! You start with a basic navy then move on to naval aviation. Chances are the biddings will fall again for their MPA. If it succeds dont expect the platform to be capable. I would not even call the ship a frigate more like a corvette. The programme that did well was the acquisition on the fighters from Korea although some believe that they were being overcharge, true or not idk. Still the FA 50 is a very good light attack fighter so i'm not surprise. Only thing is if there were corruptions involved. Perhaps so.
Hapuswe live in asean ben..where corruption is something normal..not just corruption, terrorism, human traficking, drug, low level education too..somebody up there plan this long time ago..they want asean people to be ineficient...asean share the same enemy...lets not talking about eficiency before we get rid of the enemy 1st..
HapusExactly anak
HapusAbnormal in where i live. Zero tolerance on corruption in where i live. No matter your status there is no escape. You will be jailed for a long while.
Hapusbecause somebody up there have a special plan for your country..so youre lucky ben..
Hapusjust look at philipine..what happen with mr duterte anti-drug campaign.is there any asean country express their concern about it?? none...every objection came from outsider..we asean have the same opinion about drug..death punishment is the best way..kill them because they kill more people with drug..
AP thumbs up for you. A very good point and I agree for that.
HapusIs up to any nation to do what they want. It is their right. Duterte had the mandate. The people put him into power. U know the west very well. Their ideals. They dont like what he does and always poke their noses around to nations that dont follow their ways. The president is still being supported so there is nothing wrong. They need to accept that. Asean countries dont bother much on the international front. In reality all we care about is ourselves. Im sure we all can agree to that
Hapusactually we do follow their way to build a nation..we follow how the west developing their country long time ago..today the west no longer embrace the same system, same mentality because their country is already developed..
Hapuswe dont bother not because we dont care.but what duterte is doing about drug is not wrong..im so happy if my leader follow dutertes way to fight drug..not just drug isue..but corruption too...i think most asean will agree if corruptors were treated the same way..of course some group will opppose that..the same group who get billions dollar profit a year by bribing..the same group who run bussiness in every ineffiecient asean country.the same group have enough power to dictate the country..like i said before..asean shares the same enemy..
I agree again with you AP having such a nice point of view. Have sense and your talk is for benefits of all ASEAN and fair. Thumbs up!
HapusPN badly need more modern and capable vessels to protect the vast coastlines and counter PRC Navy in the SCS. Good for Philippines
BalasHapusBetter if the Philippine navy just cancel this corruption tainted project
BalasHapusAnd restart the bidding? I've been following MaxDefence FB page for 2 years. All the procurement takes forever the the Philippines. That includes this frigate program. Better to continue this frigate program than to start the rebidding. There is a chance that this frigate will cancel all together if the PN start rebidding for new frigate.
HapusThe project is heading to a worst output. The DND does not care anymore on Philippine navy's sentiments about this project. It would be better if they revive the acquisition of 2nd hand frigates from Italy and Australia
HapusPublic pressure is the only chance. Heck the DND doesnt even bother about the navy. They arent scared. I bet of the the military threatened a coup they will listen to them lol. They cant do things seriously u better warned them lol.
HapusHeads will start to roll once the COA commence its audit in every Philippine government department. But the question is when? The Philippines is too busy in drug related issues
HapusLets just say internal issues
HapusTrolling
