We are pleased to update the successful downslipping and towing of KD LEKIU back to RMN Lumut Jetty, completed on April 12. As usual, our team displayed exceptional commitment, ensuring that the Emergency Defect Repair (EDR) project remained on schedule even during festive holidays. Their hard work and determination are commendable and reflect our values of dedication and teamwork.
As KD LEKIU prepares for its upcoming role in the RIMPAC 2024 exercise, we extend our best wishes to the crew and the RMN for a successful deployment.
LUNAS Naval Shipyard
From humble beginnings to a modern maritime leader, Lumut Naval Shipyard Sdn Bhd (LUNAS) has made significant footprint in the industry. Established in 1984 as the Royal Malaysian Navy Dockyard, LUNAS transitioned to a corporatized entity in 1991 and ultimately became a private company, PSC Naval Dockyard Sdn Bhd, in 1995. LUNAS underwent a series of strategic acquisitions that propelled its growth.
In the early 2000s, Boustead Holdings, a prominent Malaysian conglomerate owned by the Armed Forces Provident Fund, acquired the shipyard. This led to a name change to Boustead Naval Shipyard Sdn Bhd in August 2005. As of January 2024, a shift in the company's governance structure necessitated a renewed direction and strategy when the company became a company under the ownership of Ocean Sunshine Berhad, a wholly-owned entity under the Ministry of Finance (MOF Inc). Consequently, the shipyard embarked on a rebranding initiative, adopting its current name, Lumut Naval Shipyard Sdn Bhd (LUNAS).
Today, LUNAS flourishes as a fully modernized shipyard spanning 46 hectares. Recognized for its technological capabilities, LUNAS has secured numerous contracts, solidifying its position as a one-stop center catering to the defense and maritime needs of the region.

PSC-Naval Dockyard had never built anything but trawlers or police boats before being given the contract, the company was contracted to deliver six patrol boats for the Malaysian Navy in 2004 and complete the delivery in 2007. Those were supposed to be the first of 27 offshore vessels ultimately cost RM24 billion plus the right to maintain and repair all of the country’s naval craft. But only two of the barely operational patrol boats had been delivered by mid-2006.

TEKOR IKUT LATIHAN : The supplementary funds will pay for utility bills – electricity, internet, and sewage – (RM115 million); Maritime Security Operations (RM139 million) and Air Defence Operations (RM49 million).
Adly attributed the increase for maritime security operations due to higher fuel costs, new assets namely the four LMS and three Maritime Operations Helicopters and overseas exercises. He did not name the overseas exercises, but we know that RMN ships took part in exercises and other engagements in Japan, Hawaii, and Australia.

Those were supposed to be the first of 27 offshore vessels ultimately cost RM24 billion plus the right to maintain and repair all of the country’s naval craft. But only two of the barely operational patrol boats had been delivered by mid-2006.

Ya sudah nanti di RIMPAC 2024 KRI Marthadinata latihan tembak Exocet MM 40 Blok 3 dari jarak 120 KM maklum CMS Tacticos terbaru dan Fire Control Radar Stir 1.2 MK 2 yg masih baru gress tercanggih diuji Radar Lekiu gak bisa mendeteksi KRI Marthadinata karrna benar2 siluman itu Kapal ..jangannlari yaa KD lekiu ditunggu.. di Hawai moga2 nyakpai ke Hawai maklum kapal tua belum pernah di upgrade 😜😜😜😜
