MANILA– Pembuat kapal Italia, Fincantieri, telah menyatakan minatnya untuk menjalin kemitraan industri strategis dengan Filipina guna memperkuat kemampuan pertahanan dan keamanan bawah laut negara tersebut.
“Indo-Pasifik dan Laut Mediterania sangat mirip dan memiliki banyak kesamaan. Fincantieri sangat ingin menjadi kemitraan industri strategis bagi Filipina untuk melindungi lautan kita,” ujar Aurora Buzzo, Manajer Area Divisi Kapal Angkatan Laut Fincantieri, dalam forum Stratbase ADR Institute di Makati City, Rabu.
Fincantieri dan Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) Jerman sebelumnya telah bekerja sama untuk terpilih sebagai produsen kapal selam pertama Filipina sebagai bagian dari program modernisasi Angkatan Bersenjata negara tersebut yang sedang berlangsung untuk meningkatkan pencegahan maritim.

Namun, di luar kapal selam, Buzzo mengatakan perusahaannya memiliki beragam produk untuk ditawarkan, termasuk kendaraan nirawak dan sistem drone bawah laut canggih yang dapat melindungi infrastruktur penting di bawah air seperti pipa gas dan kabel bawah laut.
Sebagai perusahaan yang sebagian sahamnya dimiliki pemerintah, Buzzo mengatakan Fincantieri dapat menawarkan opsi pembiayaan yang fleksibel kepada negara-negara seperti Filipina dan "membiayai hingga 100 persen" dari nilai kontrak proyek dengan rencana pembayaran yang difasilitasi.
"Kami berkomitmen penuh untuk mendukung paket pembiayaan bagi semua proyek kami, terutama pada akhirnya dan semoga di Filipina," ujarnya.
"Ini adalah sesuatu yang benar-benar dapat kami atur—kami dapat mengatur beberapa pertemuan dengan Angkatan Laut, Kementerian Pertahanan, dan Keuangan Filipina untuk memberikan semua kemungkinan yang dapat kami tawarkan dalam hal paket pembiayaan," tambahnya.
Fincantieri sebelumnya telah meluncurkan proyek DEEP, sistem drone bawah laut terintegrasi pertamanya yang terdiri dari jaringan sensor untuk peringatan dini dan armada kendaraan bawah laut nirawak.
Sistem ini, menurut Buzzo, fleksibel dan dapat dengan mudah beradaptasi dengan kebutuhan suatu negara, baik untuk tugas keamanan militer, perlindungan infrastruktur komersial, maupun pemantauan lingkungan.
