The Royal Cambodian Air Force has taken delivery of its first two second-hand Aero L-39 Albatros advanced trainer aircraft from Israel, with two more delivered this month and the final two in July.

The other part of the agreement involves maintenance work to make nine of Cambodia's 19 Mikoyan MiG-21fighters operational - with the remaining 10 MiG-21s left at Phnom Penh's Pochentong airport.
The first of these nine fighters to be reconditioned is due for delivery in about 10 months. The L-39 and MiG-21 programmes have been delayed by disagreement sover payment, and problems acquiring the used L-39 platforms after an initial purchase deal with a third country fell through.
