The Royal Thai Navy (RTN) held the opening ceremony of Navy training for the fiscal year 2024 at the Naval Training Range No. 15, Hat Yao, Samae San, Sattahip District, Chonburi Province, on March 5, 2024, which conducted training during the period 20 November 2023 - 1 August 2024.
It is during the same period as Cobra Gold 2024, which previously held the AMPHIBEX amphibious warfare exercise with the US and ROK militaries at the same location on March 1, 2024.
As information was previously provided in the Navy White Paper 2023, the 2024 Navy exercises will include live-fire training of the ESSM surface-to-air missile and training in firing the Mk54 light torpedo from The frigate HTMS Bhumibol Adulyadej was commissioned for the first time during 13-31 May 2024.
The 2024 Navy training also saw the principles of integrating joint combat operations with the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) and the Royal Thai Army (RTA) and placing emphasis on Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) as well.
