Singapore Technologies (ST) Marine has held a steel-cutting ceremony for the final two Littoral Mission Vessels (LMVs) on order for the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN), the company confirmed with Jane’s on 2 August.
The ceremony, which was attended by RSN chief Rear Admiral Lew Chuen Hong, was held on 14 July at ST Marine’s computer numerical control cutting workshop in the western part of Singapore. As part of the ceremony, steel plates for parts of the hull and deck sections of LMVs seven and eight were forged into the required shapes by the plasma cutter, said ST Marine.

U can buy other products that are specifically design for a role which are much more effective. First thing. What does MLRS multi launch rocket system means? Meaning more than 1 rockets can be launch from a system. A mlrs can be 4,6,8,12 rockets. So long it is not 1 it is multi. What main components consist of an mlrs? Rockets obviously, launcher, a vehicle thats it. Vehicle transport the system. The launcher is mounted on the truck. The rockets is placed inside the launcher. So how does it works? Fire thats it. Very simple platform yet deadly never meant to be used for other aspects of combat . It is a rocket artillery system. Simple. How does guide it to a ship when, The rocket itself is not guided. 2 the system that is fire and control does not guide the missile. Just key in cords and fire use as a wide area effect damage against mass infantry. Use it against a ship just silly. 3rd it does not have a radar!!!!. How does one track, identify, target, lock and guide it without a radar!! I am refering to a radar that is use for naval warfare. If not how does ships fire their missile?

Indeed both look similar. The LMV ship itself is designed locally. Note that the mcmv 80 and the lmv employs the same radar. The radar is by Thales hence that is perhaps why the mast look the same. There is 1 component of the LMV that is from Saab and that is the launch and recovery system of the RHIBs at the rear. Other equipment like guns and missiles are obviously supplied from foreign suppliers. Singapore goes for european hardware for navy as u can see the trend. Ship itself is locally as well as most of the systems. The LMV is modular and configurable for different missions. MCM is just 1 of the roles it can play. Others like patrol or support other warships in combat. HADR missions, SAR as well as medical, counter priacy basically patrol. They put the ship to the test quickly in one of their ads they displayed Mine countermeasure capability. There is a video by defencewebtv on youtube they did a video on LMV RSS Independence the first commissioned. They showed around the ship. The bridge was really sopfisticated i was surprise. Of course they did not show CIC. N Pls dont call me uncle 😂😂 im not old.
HapusSorry. Radar from saab. Thales provided the sub systems. Note that the mcmv 80 was officially revealed this uear during UDT expo 2017. LMV project was revealed in 2013 to the public so obviously they started the programme before that. If u check out saab website on the mcmv 80 they did mentioned on sg lmv way of construction by st marine.
