Most of the Vietnamese armored vehicles participating in the task of protecting the Party Congress were amphibious armored vehicles carrying troops BTR-60PB and BRDM-2.

The BTR-60PB amphibious armored vehicles that Vietnam is using are the last version of the BTR-60 troop transport vehicle the first generation in the Soviet-made 8x8 armored tanker line.

This type of armor was developed in the late 50s of the last century and was born in 1961, replacing the BTR-152.

Inside the Vietnamese Army's BTR-60PB armored vehicle, there was a three-man crew consisting of a driver, a liaison commander and a gunner.

The inside space of the car is very large, ensuring the needs of transporting soldiers and goods on the battlefield.

The original version of the BTR-60PB has a fairly simple interior, the driver and the driver's seat is equipped with leather cushions, while the gunner's position is just steel.

Beginning in 1959, the first armored BTR-60s entered the Soviet Red Army. Then the army and naval infantry of the Soviet Union also supplemented a large number of this type of armor.

The BTR-60PB version that Vietnam uses was launched in 1966.

According to the open published document, the Soviet Union began to aid the BTR-60PB wheeled infantry vehicle to the People's Army of Vietnam in 1973 in the last century - during the war against the US.

So far, Vietnam's BTR-60 armored vehicles are still working well, ensuring fast maneuverability both on land and at sea, providing fire support for infantry on the battlefield.

This vehicle is 7.5 meters long, 2.8 meters wide and 2.06 meters high. The frame is shaped like a canoe, ensuring the ability to wade at high speeds.

The vehicle uses welded steel - enough to protect the occupants from a variety of basic infantry fire. By design, each BTR-60 could carry a platoon of infantry with sufficient equipment.

The main weapon of the vehicle is placed above the turret including a heavy machine gun of 14.5mm caliber along with a coaxial 7.62mm PKT machine gun placed on either side of the viewfinder.

The advantage of this type of vehicle is the ability to operate multi-terrain, very good wading and fast on-land maneuverability, easy to handle in a narrow environment, good urban combat.

This is also the reason why armored vehicles carrying troops BTR-60PB and BRDM-2 are often chosen by Vietnam to participate in missions to protect important events taking place in major cities.

This type of armor is also regularly deployed, participating in storm and flood rescue, dealing with natural disasters.

Singapore Navy Inaugurates Maritime Security and Response Flotilla to Strengthen Maritime Security Capabilities

Chief of Navy Rear-Admiral Aaron Beng officiated at the inauguration ceremony of the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN)'s Maritime and Security Response Flotilla (MSRF) at RSS Singapura – Changi Naval Base this morning.

The new flotilla will add capacity and build capabilities to protect Singapore's territorial waters and respond to expanded maritime security threats. The MSRF will be equipped with new purpose-built ships. As a start, the flotilla will operate four Sentinel-class Maritime Security and Response Vessels (MSRVs) and two Maritime Security and Response Tugboats (MSRTs) to enable more calibrated responses.

Commander of the MSRF, Lieutenant Colonel Lee Jun Meng, said, "The MSRF will strengthen Singapore's ability to deal with maritime security threats that have grown in scale and complexity through the years. The additional capabilities will provide us with more flexibility and a wider range of responses, and allow us to be deployed for greater persistence to safeguard and protect Singapore's territorial waters."

Maritime Security Capabilities Strengthened

To further strengthen the RSN's capabilities in protecting Singapore's territorial waters and respond to evolving maritime security threats, the Maritime and Security Response Flotilla (MSRF) was stood up on 26 Jan.

The inauguration ceremony was held at RSS Singapura – Changi Naval Base and officiated by Chief of Navy Rear-Admiral (RADM) Aaron Beng.

"The MSRF will strengthen Singapore's ability to deal with maritime security threats that have grown in scale and complexity through the years," said Commander MSRF Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Lee Jun Meng.

More calibrated response

As part of the restructured Maritime Security Command, the MSRF will be responsible for developing and operating calibrated capabilities to support the Singapore government in responding to maritime incidents. The capabilities raised by the MSRF will provide flexibility to meet the increased demands and a wider scope of maritime security operations, and offer greater persistence to protect Singapore's territorial waters.

At present, the MSRF will operate four Sentinel-class Maritime Security and Response Vessels (MSRVs). These MSRVs are former Fearless-class patrol vessels that have been refurbished to extend their operational lifespan.

The vessels will be installed with a range of calibrated capabilities such as a Long Range Acoustic Device and Laser Dazzler System to allow crew to project verbal warnings and issue visual warnings; a Typhoon Mk 25mm Gun, a 76mm OTO Melara Gun and a 7.62mm General Purpose Machine Gun; and fenders that enable the ship to come alongside vessels of interest quickly.

The first two of the MSRVs, MSRV Sentinel and MSRV Guardian, will become operational from today. Their sister ships MSRV Protector and MSRV Bastion will begin their service in the coming months.

Rounding off the fleet are two Maritime Security and Response Tugboats (MSRTs) that will assist in responding to incidents at sea and support base operations.

New purpose-built vessels

The MSRF will also operate purpose-built vessels when they are ready. These vessels, which are still in the early stages of concept design, are expected to be larger than the MSRVs, and be able to operate at sea for longer periods of up to a few weeks.

"As with our other navy craft, these vessels will be designed for lean manning and for modular capabilities. The new vessels will work with the Littoral Mission Vessels and Unmanned Surface Vessels to protect Singapore's territorial waters, and respond to maritime security threats," said LTC Lee. (Pioneer)

Komandan Pasmar 1 (Danpasmar 1) Brigjen TNI (Mar) Hermanto, S.E., M.M., mengikuti diskusi teknis modernisasi Tank PT-76 di lingkungan Korps Marinir, bertempat di ruang rapat Golf Driving Range (GDR) Cilandak, Jakarta Selatan, Rabu (27/01/2021).

Diskusi ini merupakan bentuk perhatian dari Komando atas dalam hal ini pejabat utama Korps Marinir yang diwakili oleh Wadan Kormar Brigjen TNI (Mar) Nur Alamsyah, S.E., M.M., M.Tr (Han)., terhadap pembaruan Alat Utama Sistem Senjata (Alutsista) di jajaran Korps Marinir khususnya Resimen Kavaleri (Menkav) dengan tujuan untuk menunjang segala penugasan kedepannya.

Kegiatan ini diawali dengan sambutan dari Wadan Kormar Brigjen TNI (Mar) Nur Alamsyah, S.E., M.M., M.Tr (Han)., dilanjut dengan sambutan dari Bapak Peter Tjahjono selaku Direktur utama PT. BTI Indotechno dan paparan tentang produk dari PT. BTI Indotechno oleh Mr. Jhon Koukouvas selaku Managing Director PT. BTI Indotechno, diakhir paparan tersebut dilangsungkan juga kegiatan tanya jawab dari peserta diskusi kepada bapak Peter Tjahjono tentang kelebihan maupun kekurangan dari produk-produk yang sudah dijelaskan.

Adapun materi yang dibahas dalam diskusi teknis ini tentang persenjataan tank PT-76, amunisi 90 mm, suit elektronik optik, sistem penembakan, mekanik elektrik, ketahanan tank PT-76, peningkatan armor, sistem deteksi tindakan balasan, sistem pencegah kebakaran, sistem jalur, mesin dan rantai penggerak, pembangkit listrik, distribusi dan penyimpanan, penutup hidrolik serta sistem kontrol baling-baling.

Hadir pada kegiatan tersebut Irkormar Brigjen TNI (Mar) Lasmono, para Asisten Dankormar, Asrena Danpasmar 1 Kolonel Marinir Sunggu Besar Manurung, Danmenkav 1 Mar Kolonel Marinir Achmad Sochfan, S.A.P., serta para Dansatlak dibawah jajaran Menkav 1 Mar.

Mengintip Kedahsyatan Heli Serbu Ringan Produksi PT Dirgantara Indonesia

NUSANTARANEWS.CO – Dalam sebuah latihan tempur di Puslatpur Kodiklatad Baturaja, Sumatera Selatan, dua Helikopter Serang ringan Fennec AS 550 C3 dari Markas Komando Skadron-12 Serbu Way Tuba melakukan pengujian tembakan senapan mesin HMP 12,7 milimeter dan roket FZ-219 selama dua hari.

Dalam latihan uji coba tersebut, Fennec membawa 24 roket yang pasang di bagian kiri dan kanan masing-masing 12 roket. Demikian pula senapan HMP dengan 400 munisi disebelah kiri dan 400 disebelah kanan.

Kegiatan latihan ini juga melibatkan Puspenerbad TNI AD, Kementerian Pertahanan RI dan PT. Dirgantara Indonesia (PT DI).

Skadron 12/serbu memang mempunyai tugas pokok bantuan tempur guna memperbesar derajat mobilitas dan daya tembak satuan tempur TNI AD dalam pelaksanaan operasi militer. Skadron 12/Serbu saat ini diperkuat dengan NBell-412 EP dan 8 unit AS 550 Fennec.

Eurocopter AS550 Fennec adalah helikopter militer serang ringan serbaguna buatan Prancis yang dioperasikan oleh Pusnerbad. Helikopter serbu ringan ini dapat dipersenjatai senjata koaksial, roket, torpedo dan amunisi lainnya.

Fennec adalah heli serbu ringan multi peran TNI AD. Melihat karakter serang dengan daya hancur yang dahsyat tak salah jika AS550C3 Fennec dipilih menjadi alutsista TNI, khususnya oleh Pusat Penerbangan Angkatan Darat (Penerbad). Yang terpenting adalah murah dan dapat diproduksi oleh PT Dirgantara Indonesia.

Seperti diketahui, AS550C3 Fennec telah menjadi solusi Airbus untuk memenuhi helikopter multimisi serbu ringan di kelas 2-ton. Airbus menggunakan sistem rotor utamanya dari bahan khusus starflex, blade rotornya dibalut dengan bahan komposit yang dapat meredam suara rotor sehingga memungkinkan Fennec terbang dengan kecepatan tinggi dan menjalankan operasi senyap dalam segala cuaca.

Fennec juga dilengkapi dengan perangkat avionik canggih dan beragam persenjataan mematikan seperti: roket, torpedo dan amunisi lainnya sehingga sangat efektif untuk menjalankan semua operasi militer. Platform heli memungkinkan awak dapat dengan mudah memasang atau mengganti sistem persenjataannya.

Persenjataan AS550C3 antara lain sistem senjata berbentuk tabung roket berbentuk diamond di sisi kanan dan pod senapan mesin di sisi kiri helm. Platform heli yang fleksibel memungkinkan perubahanan penempatan sistem senjata. Penerbad secara khusus memasang sistem peluncur roket FZ-219 yang menjadi senjata standar andalan heli NBO-105.

Kode FZ di depan angka 219 sendiri merupakan inisial dari pabrikan pembuatnya, Forges de Zebrugge, Belgia. Hingga kini senjata roket FZ telah dipergunakan oleh Angkatan Bersenjata lebih dari 55 negara. Banyak negara menggunakan produk FZ karena tidak tergantung dengan komponen produk Amerika Serikat (AS), sehingga aman dari ancaman embargo. Forges de Zebrugge merupakan spesialis sistem roket udara-darat yang merupakan bagian dari konglomerasi industri pertahanan Thales Perancis.

Sistem Roket FZ-219 dapat dipasang di sayap kecil atau rintisan sayap yang posisinya ada di belakang kabin penumpang AS550C3. Bentuk penampang tabungnya sendiri berbentuk seperti berlian. Untuk membidikkan roket, pilot akan membidik target dengan sistem bidik prismatik T100 buatan Thales, yang sudah jadi langganan helm buatan Airbus yang dipasangi tabung roket.

Sementara untuk pod senapan mesin, di sebelah kiri terpasang pod HMP400 yang dipasang menyimpan sepucuk senapan mesin berat FN M3P kaliber 12,7x99mm dengan kapasitas 250 butir peluru. Dengan kecepatan tembak mencapai 1.100 peluru per menit, HMP400 dapat diandalkan untuk melibas target seperti kendaraan ringan, pos penjagaan, dan tentu saja infanteri.

Pusat Penerbangan Angkatan Darat (Puspenerbad) telah memesan 12 unit Fennec dari PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI). Dari total tersebut, TNI AD akan menerima enam heli dengan tipe mesin tunggal dan enam unit lainnya dengan mesin ganda. Seluruh unit AS550/AS555 Fennec yang dipesan TNI AD akan ditempatkan di Skadron 12/Serbu yang bermarkas di Lanumad Gatot Subroto, Waytuba, Way Kanan, Lampung.

Berdasarkan kontrak kesepakatan antara Airbus Helicopters dengan PT Dirgantara Indonesia, helikopter serang ringan TNI AD ini dilengkapi dengan peralatan tempur yang mencakup pod senapan mesin FN HMP250, dudukan canon di sebelah kanan dan peluncur roket FFAR jenis FZ-219 di sebelah kiri –yang akan dipasang oleh PTDI sendiri.

BRP Antonio Luna (FF151) Final TIAC Updates

NAVAL STATION JOSE ANDRADA, Manila –With three negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test results in seven mandatory quarantine days in South Korea, PN Frigate TIAC (Technical Inspection and Acceptance Committee) starts the final inspection of PN Frigate 2, the future BRP Antonio Luna (FF151), in Ulsan, South Korea today 25 January 2021.

For verification/validation is the contractor's strict compliance to the agreed Technical Specifications and Build Specifications (TS&BS) in building and equipping PN Frigate 2. Initial reports from PN owner's representative headed by Capt Sergio Bartolome PN state that PN Frigate 2 is almost 100% completed and has satisfactorily passed harbor and sea trials. However, due to travel restriction and production disruption caused by COVID-19 pandemic, some training activities and ILS deliveries have been delayed. Hence, completion dates and delivery schedules have been adjusted.

Final FAP TIAC inspection of PN Frigate 2 will be from 25 to 30 January 2021. If PN Frigate 2 is found compliant to TS&BS, PN FAP TIAC will issue the Certificate of Final Acceptance to Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), as stipulated in the contract, before the team flies back to Manila on 30 January 2021.

PUNA MALE Elang Hitam Ditarget Masuk Level Kombatan Tahun Ini

Bisnis.com, JAKARTA - BPPT memastikan pengembangan Pesawat Udara Nir-Awak jenis Medium Altitude Long Endurance (PUNA MALE) Elang Hitam menjadi salah satu dari delapan fokus pengembangan Teknologi Bangun Indonesia Maju. Tahun ini, drone tersebut akan dikembangkan ke tingkat kombatan.

Kepala Badan Pengkajian dan Penerapan Teknologi (BPPT) Hammam Riza mengatakan fokus bidang kelima instansinya dalam pengembangan Teknologi Bangun Indonesia Maju pada tahun ini adalah di bidang pertahanan dan keamanan.

"Bersama dengan Konsorsium PUNA MALE Elang Hitam, BPPT akan melanjutkan pengembangan ke tingkatan kombatan sesuai dengan arahan Presiden RI dalam menjaga teritori Indonesia di area perbatasan," ujarnya seperti dikutip dalam keterangan BPPT, Senin (25/1/2021).

BPPT pada tahun ini akan melaksanakan integrasi dan uji terbang Elang Hitam tipe 1, serta dilanjutkan dengan melaksanakan kegiatan desain, analisis, dan manufaktur wahana Elang Hitam tipe 2 dan 3.

Inisiasi pengembangan PUNA MALE telah dimulai oleh Balitbang Kemhan sejak 2015 dengan melibatkan TNI, Ditjen Pothan Kemhan, BPPT, ITB, dan PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero). Nantinya, pesawat ini akan dioperasikan oleh TNI AU.

PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) telah sukses memproduksi PUNA MALE yang mampu terbang terus menerus selama 24 jam. Pada tahun lalu, PTDI kembali memproduksi purwarupa dua PUNA MALE untuk tujuan uji terbang dan uji kekuatan struktur di BPPT.

Pada tahun ini pula, proses sertifikasi produk militer juga akan dimulai dan diharapkan pada akhir 2021 sudah mendapatkan sertifikat tipe dari Pusat Kelaikan Kementerian Pertahanan RI (IMAA).

Sementara itu, mengintegrasikan sistem senjata pada purwarupa PUNA MALE dilakukan mulai 2020 dan diproyeksikan mendapatkan sertifikasi tipe produk militer pada 2023.

Dengan kemandirian ini, PUNA MALE buatan Indonesia dapat mengisi kebutuhan squadron TNI AU untuk dapat mengawasi wilayah NKRI melalui wahana udara. Selain itu kegiatan dapat menumbuhkambangkan industri dalam negeri yang sesuai dengan mandat Undang-Undang No.16 tahun 2012 tentang Industri Pertahanan.

The Royal Thai Navy will be Supplied by Five Mobile Manpads 4x4 Anti-Aircraft Missiles

Naval Ordnance Department, Royal Thai Navy announced to acquire 5 of Mobile Short-Range Surface-to-Air Missile on 4x4 vehicles for RTN Naval Air and Coastal Defense Command.

Naval Ordnance Department it intends to purchase a mobile short-range anti-aircraft missile to enhance the capability of the anti-aircraft command and maintain the coast. 

The air defense to cover 5 sets of military key areas, using operation  budget of 246 million baht period 1 year (fiscal year 2021). 

It is understood that Thai Datagate will be the distributor for the Igla-S ground-to-air missile, the shoulder-mounted anti-air missile system in use by the Thai Army or maybe it was Russia's newest Verba ground-to-air missile.

The Datagate is likely to equip with a Dzhigit-style launcher that can accommodate two Igla-S missiles, which can be mounted on a truck or mounted on the ground. While the only armored 4x4 vehicle that would be a platform carriage mounted to the weapon mount was unknown at this time.

Chinese company CVIC (China Vanguard Industry Corp) is likely to be a distributor of Vanguard-type shoulder-fired missile weapons systems, such as the QW-18 that ACDC (Air and Coastal Defence Command) already has in use and the QW-2 used in it. In the Royal Thai Air Force we found the modified cars of Type 51 4x4 as a base car for firing.
