Setelah mendapat persetujuan Menteri Pertahanan Prabowo Subianto dan kemudian dari Komisi I DPR RI beberapa waktu lalu, kapal Bakamla RI yang sebelumnya dibekali senjata berpeluru karet, kini dilengkapi dengan Senapan SM-5 kaliber 12.7 mm buatan PT Pindad.
Senapan mesin SM-5 kaliber 12,7 x 99 mm PT Pindad yang menggunakan standar Nato, memiliki jangkauan hingga 1.830 m dengan kecepatan tembakan 400-600 butir/menit. (Kemhan)

JAKARTA - Senapan mesin SM-5 kaliber 12,7 mm buatan PT Pindad Indonesia termasuk senajata berat yang bisa dipasang di kendaraan tempur atau kapal. Senapan mesin SM-5 kaliber 2,7 mm buatan Pindad mampu menembakan 400-600 peluru per menit.
Dikutip dari laman resmi Pindad, Rabu (22/2/2023), senapan mesin SM-5 memiliki spesifikasi kaliber 12,7 mm x 99 mm sesuai standar NATO. Berbeda sedikit ukurannya dengan senapan mesin kaliber 12,7 × 108 mm yang biasa digunakan negara bekas Uni Soviet dan Pakta Warsawa. S
enapan mesin SM-5 kaliber 12,7 mm Pindad berbobot 30 kg, panjang keseluruhan 1.690 mm, dan panjang laras 1.140 mm. Senapan mesin SM-5 kaliber 12,7 mm mampu menembakan 400-600 peluru per menit dengan jangkauan efektif 1.830 meter.
SM-5 kaliber 12,7 mm merupakan senapan anti-material dengan menargetkan kendaraan militer tanpa lapis baja, menembus kendaraan lapis baja ringan, dan merusak peralatan pendukung eksternal.
Dikutip dari laman resmi BUMN, senapan mesin SM-5 kaliber 12,7 Pindad senjata telah digunakan oleh Badan Keamanan Laut Republik Indonesia (Bakamla RI). ”Salah satu kabar terbaru yang membanggakan, produk SM-5 digunakan oleh Bakamla untuk menjaga keamanan di Natuna,” kata Dirut PT Pindad Abraham Mose pada Oktober 2020.
Secara umum senapan mesin berat kaliber 12,7 mm biasa ditempatkan pada kendaraan militer untuk menargetkan kendaraan lapis baja ringan. Bahkan menghancurkan target udara pada jarak miring hingga 1.500 meter.
Dalam versi infanteri, kontrol tembakan terletak di tripod atau dudukan dan menyertakan pemicu dengan pegangan pistol dan pegangan pengisi daya yang terpasang pada dudukan tripod. Tripod infanteri juga dilengkapi dengan popor lipat (dengan penyangga rekoil pegas). (SindoNews)

LPD PT PAL = PT PAL Indonesia’s role in the fulfillment of the Global Armament System has been proven by the successful construction of a Landing Platform Dock type ship for the Philippines Navy, known as the Strategic Sealift Vessel (SSV) in 2016 and 2017. Then, in 2022, DND Philippines gave its trust to PT PAL to build the same type of ship to strengthen the Philippines’ domestic defense system. GOWIND MANGKRAK = The Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN or Tentera Laut DiRaja Malaysia; TLDM) launched and named today its first Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Gowind frigate. The ceremony took place at Boustead Heavy Industries Corporation Berhad (BHIC) Lumut shipyard (Western Malaysia) on August 24th. The first of class vessel is now known as KD Maharaja Lela.
