Division 372 and Air Force Officer School Organize Live-fire and Bombing Drills in 2024

On the morning of September 24, Division 372 and the Air Force Officer School under the Air Defense - Air Force (PK-KQ) organized a live-fire, bombing and ammunition exercise in 2024. Attending and directing the exercise were Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son - Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; Major General Bui Thien Thau - Deputy Commander of the PK-KQ; representatives of the Head of the Military Training Department, General Staff; heads of the PK-KQ agencies; representatives of armed forces units and representatives of local Party committees and authorities in the stationed area.

On the first day of the exercise, pilots and flight crew members of Regiment 925, Regiment 930 (Division 372) and Regiment 940 (Air Force Officer School) flew Su-27 fighter jets, Mi helicopters and Yak-130 combat trainers carrying bombs, rockets and artillery shells to conduct dozens of single flights and maneuverable formation flights, diving to destroy ground targets in simple meteorological conditions during the day.

All flights of shooting and dropping live bombs and ammunition hit the target, destroying the target and ensuring absolute safety. Many pilots and flight crew members performed the shooting and dropping live bombs and ammunition missions well and excellently; among them were many young pilots participating in the shooting and dropping live bombs and ammunition missions for the first time.

The exercise aims to improve the technical level of piloting, navigation and application of combat to attack targets of the pilots and flight crew members; at the same time, improve the ability to organize, command and conduct training of the team of officers and flight commanders at all levels in flight training using weapons.

In order for the exercise to take place as planned, strictly, scientifically, in accordance with flight regulations, combat training curriculum and to properly assess the qualifications and capabilities of pilots and flight crew members; the participating units have carefully prepared, organized training on airport regulations, TB-2 Shooting Range regulations, rules on the use of weapons, safety measures and proficiency in handling unexpected situations while performing tasks for the pilots. The work of ensuring logistics - technology and other aspects of work was deployed carefully and safely, contributing significantly to the overall success of the exercise.

The success of the flight team practicing shooting and dropping live bombs and ammunition on the first day of the exercise is the basis for building confidence and courage for the members to continue to perform well in the upcoming shooting and dropping live bombs and ammunition on ground targets at night.
