MGT-LB multi-purpose amphibious armored tracked vehicle (all photos: RG.RU)
The MGT-LB tracked transporter was the premiere of the Army-2024 International Military-Technical Forum. A prototype of this vehicle, equipped with a remotely controlled machine gun mount, was presented at the exhibition.
The tractor, weighing 16.5 tons, is capable of transporting 2.5 tons of cargo and towing a trailer weighing up to 7 tons. In the future, it should replace the MT-LB transporters, which were developed in the 1960s and are still actively used in the special military operation zone.
The Russian army operates a variety of MT-LB transporter-tractors, known to soldiers as “MOTOLYGI.” These tracked vehicles, which perform a wide range of tasks, were developed back in the 1960s. Attempts to modernize these transporters in the 1980s did not bring much success, but new models presented at the Army-2024 forum could significantly change the situation.
One such example, the MGT-LB (Product 6448), demonstrates capabilities that may outshine those of its legendary predecessor. The MGT-LB is designed to perform a variety of missions, including personnel delivery and towing artillery systems, especially in challenging conditions such as mountainous areas.
The weight of the new product is 16,500 kg, and its load capacity is 2,500 kg. The weight of the towed trailer can be up to 7,000 kg. One of the significant advantages of the new transporter is the significantly improved level of protection.
The 450-horsepower turbodiesel engine allows for a maximum speed of 70 km/h on the highway and up to 10 km/h afloat. The cruising range on one fuel is at least 800 kilometers, and the crew consists of two people.
The MGT-LB is equipped with a remotely controlled 12.7 mm machine gun mount.

2024 RINGGIT LOSSES = The ringgit extended its losses to end lower against the US dollar today despite weaker United States economic data, an economist said. At 6 pm, the ringgit depreciated to 4.7110/7145 versus the greenback from yesterday’s close of 4.7080/7110.

2022 RINGGIT DEPRECIATION = The ringgit experienced a period of sustained depreciation against the US dollar in 2022 amid the US Federal Reserve raising its policy interest rate aggressively by 425 basis points to address inflation, said Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM).

With Budget 2024, Malaysia’s military will get some but not all of what it wants, as the government runs a tight budget focused on uplifting the socio-economic well-being of citizens while trying to ensure fiscal discipline as it aims to narrow the deficit to 4.3% of GDP by end-2024 (from 5%)

BalasHapusBisnis.com, JAKARTA – Kementerian Keuangan (Kemenkeu) melaporkan anggaran tematik untuk program strategis berupa Hukum dan Pertahanan Keamanan (Hankam) pada 2025 senilai Rp372,3 triliun.
Rencana anggaran Hukum dan Hankam untuk tahun pertama pemerintahan Prabowo Subianto tersebut terpantau naik Rp40,4 triliun dari pagu tahun ini yang senilai Rp331,9 triliun.
Menteri Keuangan Sri Mulyani menyampaikan anggaran tersebut rencananya akan fokus kepada beberapa hal, seperti modernisasi Alat Utama Sistem Senjata Tentara Nasional Indonesia atau Alutsista.
“Hukum dan Hankam Rp372,3 triliun. Ini untuk berbagai modernisasi alutsista kita,” ungkapnya dalam konferensi pers RAPBN 2025, Jumat (16/8/2024).
